Pooping isn't an indication that you are in the clear. Drinking prune juice probably isn't on your plan right now either -- a lot of sugar, empty calories and no Protein.

You REALLY need to call your surgeon and tell him what you've eaten. He's much more capable of telling you the warning signs of leaks or ruptures than a board full of unqualified strangers on the internet.

After you speak to him, it's imperative that you figure out why you've put your health at such risk over a few bites of food. I would suggest you reach out to a professional counselor to help you through this process. At the very least, find a OA meeting in your area. It's my OPINION that you are really going to need local support if you are putting yourself at such risk so early out.

I read and watched so many horror stories of the pain people are in after surgery and the problems that people have. I'm so thankful and feel so blessed I had my surgery at 8 am this morning I was so afraid of the pain I was in store for. But I feel amazing!!!! Very little pain very little gas. I have taken now a total of 7 walks. The first one right off the stretcher comming to my room from recovery lol they said you ready to scoot into the bed I said no I'm ready to walk lol. The dr said my liver was great and he could tell I did well with the pre op diet. I said and the worst part was I didn't realize till the seventh day that I was allowed to have creamed Soups lol so I did all liquids until then. Duhhhhh. He laughed. The nurses said they are amazed that they have never seen a patient do this well directly afterwards. Honestly I just feel like I did a few hundred sit ups. So for those of you who are worried. Don't be so worried. I spent way to much time fearing the worst instead of expecting the best. I was supposed to be here till Thursday but was told by the dr this evening that if I'm doing this well still tomorrow they are going to let me go home which is absolutely wonderful. Considering I haven't slept since I woke up in recovery bc this bed is not comfortable at all!!!!! And it's very noisy in here!!! And i have never been away from my munchkins on a holiday so hoping everything stays smooth sailing!!! Best wishes to all!!!!

Your diet plan isn't just a diet. It's a prescription. If you can't follow surgeons orders and get some self control, then how do you expect the major surgery you just had to be a success if you crack a week in?

The walking makes me feel better personally. I feel great. Yea my nurse said I'm a model patient lol she said usually people are not up walking till that night or the next day. I have taken a total of six walks now trying to walk every hour. I haven't slept since I woke up from surgery. Lol.

I'm with @@LipstickLady no clue what ur talking about and when it's posted on a public site for thoughts advice or questions that made it her and everyone else who visits this site they're business. So that aspect made no sense and nobody was Harassing or judging but giving her the truth of what needs to be done with the journey you can't sugar coat everything let me tell you if my professors in college sugar coated everything for me I would have never succeeded in getting my RN being tough on people sometimes opens there eyes to new prospectives in life and to what needs to be done for success. Today is day 10 of 14 day per op diet. I had a dream last night while I was sleeping that I was at work and we had a potluck. I ate everything!!! Fried chicken, chips,dip,wings,cheesy fries you name it. I was so mad at myself afterwards that I was crying and woke up in tears. I was so happy it was just a dream. Day ten of liquid diet and I haven't cheated once. Really I don't even feel hungry my body has adjusted. Apparently I was starving in my sleep tho lol. Has anyone else had food dreams that seemed so real???
