Appetite suddenly gone almost 3months out.

I am almost 3 months out and struggling with the same thing. I am finding it hard to get my water in too. Usually 2-3oz of food at a time fills me up or I just don't feel like eating.
  2. I'm sorry you are struggling! Have you tried Fairlife milk? I'm lactose intolerant and my Nutritionist suggested this and have been drinking since. You don't know it's ff and has 13g protein per serving. Have you checked out Pinterest for post-op bariatric recipes? They have tons of recipes that you may like. I think "buyers remorse" is fairly normal in the early stages by what I've read on here, but they say it does get better. I'm getting sleeved on June 30th and I am drawing so much inspiration from people here and on various bariatric Facebook groups. Keep your head up and best of luck!
  3. Almost a year after attending the seminar my VSG is scheduled for June 30th. Tomorrow I go for my pre-surgical testing, my last visit with my surgeon and a group class. I'm not nervous at all about the surgery, just excited and cannot wait to see what the rest of my new-found life awaits. My surgeon told me at my first visit with him that I will lose 90 lbs. over a year! Given that, I am seeing on different posts on here that people around my weight are losing weight at a quicker pace. I know not to compare myself to others, but just wondered if the weight is coming off quicker than expected. I have been heavy most of my life and I'm really having a hard time wrapping my mind around what I will look like 40, 50 or 90 lbs lighter. I keep hearing about the amount of energy people are gaining and really looking forward to that because I am tired all the time and could sleep anywhere. What kinds of vitamins is everyone using? I have been trying Celebrate vitamins, but they are so big and so sweet they are hard to choke down. I have never really been able to take vitamins without nausea..even with food. Any ideas? Sorry for such a long post, I guess I'm just excited that this is really about to happen! Height: 5'11/2" Hw: 262 Cw: 242

    Surgery scheduled for June 30th!!!

I am going to be getting the gastric sleeve surgery. It sounds like you are doing excellent! Will have to look into those vitamins. I hope you continue to do well with your journey Apple1 😁

    The little things

My surgery isn't until June 30th...but I can't wait to have all of the energy everyone talks about and not be so tired all of the time. I'm not sure if I've ever told anyone, but I've always wanted to wear the little black dress..without the spanx. There are so many things I want to accomplish.

    Pre op diet meal suggestions

I'm pre-op as well and eat cauliflower fried rice with either chicken or salmon quite a bit....or try cooking chicken breasts in a slow cooker and shred..add whole kernel corn, black beans, salsa or seasoned tomatoes, and fajita seasoning mix. 😎

    Full liquid vs puréed

It's not oatmeal, but according to my Nut we can have thinned cream of wheat with some unflavored protein powder, cream soups mixed with either cottage cheese or tofu. Just make sure you put it through a fine mesh strainer and make sure it's no thicker than milk.

    Need Advice

It sounds like she really needs to talk to a psychiatrist and nutritionist about her feelings and get back on track. I'm still pre-op, but from everything I've read on here stalls are pretty common. Good luck!
  10. My surgery is June 30th and pre-surgical testing, my visit with the surgeon and a group class for all having surgery around the same time on June 5th. My Nut gave me a list of things to get...baby spoons, soups, protein ideas, etc. I'm going to make my own chicken broth, portion it in freezer bags and freeze it. Going today and getting some popsicle sticks to stick into Greek yogurt for frozen yogurt. I may make my own with some protein powder, banana and Jiff peanut butter powder. I found a recipe for a pineapple freeze we may be able to have during our liquid phase.... fresh pineapple bits frozen, coconut milk and honey, agave or maple syrup for sweetness. Put all of that into a food processor. Pinterest has a lot of ideas!

7 month post opt with pictures.

    You look amazing!

    Full liquid vs puréed

According to my Nutritionist you can have cottage cheese on the liquids phase, but it's got to be mixed with a liquid (I use Fairlife Fat Free milk because of the 13g protein and lactose free), blended and put through a mesh strainer. The liquid must be no thicker than a milk consistency and be able to roll off of your spoon. They recommended mixing it with low-fat cream soups. We are able to mix fat free sugar free pudding powder into our protein shakes for extra flavor

Need dating advice after weight loss

Honestly, I wouldn't mention anything about your weight...or being overweight on the first date. Kind of thinking maybe that subject would be best left to another time. Let them know the real you 😊

    Hunger from hell

    Love this idea!!!

    Update 2 months out

Congrats you look great! My sleeve is scheduled June 30th and our surgery weight is similar, so this post gives me a lot to look forward to!

    I bought a new suit!

    That's awesome!! Congrats ☺

Feeling worn down. Is this typical?

I'm not a nurse (an M.A) and our office has seen probably more patients with this upper respiratory virus and G.I. issues than chronic illnesses this year. My guess is only being 6 months post-op, on top of being sick those 2 months and doing 6 days a week at the gym might be doing too much. I would definitely follow up with your primary care physician and find out what's going on. Best of luck!

    Progress and need help

I am pre-op and my allowance for nutriton at each meal is 10g or less of fat and sugar, but at least 10-12g of protein. I just recently made a white chicken chili that turned out great and was well under the fat grams allowed, but very filling! There is a recipe cauliflower fried rice that is really good too on the food network. If I want something sweet I'll make some sugar-free fat-free chocolate pudding and mix Fairlife fat free milk (you can't tell it's ff) and Jiff peanut butter powder. Low sugar, low fat, high protein and really tasty. You can find the white chicken chili on Pinterest

    Getting sleeved in June

We were told to start exercising, weight training and walking. I've been wanting to start weight training, but need to go through PT for my shoulder. We were givenough free Virgin Pulse pedometers at work and can earn up to $500 a year for completing steps, so that's a definite bonus!

    Getting sleeved in June

It looks like I'm getting sleeved in June as well. My nutritionist has me on an eating plan where I eat 5-6 meals a day with each meal not being over 10g of fat and 10g of sugar and at least 10-12g of protein.

6 Month Diet before the surgery prep diet

I'm pre-op and my nutritionist has me eating 5-6 times a day with each meal containing less than 10g of fat and 10g of sugar, but at least 10-12g of Protein. What started out to be needing just 3 nutriton visits turned into 6 with the change of my insurance. Sent from my SM-G930V using the BariatricPal App

    Belly button issues

Call your surgeons office to find out. Even if it's not an incision site it sounds like it needs to be checked for infection and cleaned. I wouldn't let it go too long because if it is infection, you don't want it to get into your blood stream and become systemic.

    Problems 3 weeks out! Forever?

I haven't been sleeved yet, but have been drinking the Advanced Nutriton Slim Fast shakes. They have my go-to when I need to eat but can't. They have 20g of protein and 1g of sugar. The Caramel Latte flavor is my favorite.
  24. redfire_angel75

    Bread

My surgeon and nutrition team have told me to pretty much eliminate bread altogether, but if we do have it, make sure it's not thick and toast it so it's easier to digest.

    STARTING FROM ZERO ... TODAY

@@Greensleevie I was thinking the same thing! Angelica you look great and don't look large enough to get sleeved. In the U.S. your BMI has to be at least 40 to have it done in most cases. I wish you the very best, but you look like what us sleevers would like to eventually obtain.
