  6. I had a very rough start! I had VSG on December 14, 2016. After surgery I got dehydrated twice. Dehydration is no joke! I thought I was drinking water every second of the day, but it wasn't enough! For one I couldn't stand the taste of water and tried flavors, tea, everything! I had to go to the hospital once for dehydration! Then about 3 weeks in I had kidney stones. Maybe VSG related, maybe not. Regardless, when they did a CT scan for the stones they found a blot clot in my liver! Again, maybe VSG related, but maybe not. Probably though! I had to stay in the hospital for a week and have to be on blood thinners for 6 months! It was then I regretted surgery! However, I am feeling GREAT now! I have lost 53 pounds, I can eat and drink a lot easier and am finally getting all my fluids and protein in! My regret is gone as I keep feeling more and more energized! Today I went to the ballet and didn't feel smooshed in my seat at all! I could even cross my legs! That's awesome to me! I didn't feel sorry for the person sitting next to me at all!
  7. Thank you so much for this response! I am starting to see hope and I am eating a bit more. In purée stage and that has helped. Right now Tea is my best bet for drinking. Everything else just doesn't sit well. Thanks again! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  8. I am a little over 3 weeks post op and here are some problems I am having. I would love to know if others have experienced these and when/if they go away? 1. Water makes me nauseous. Even when I add flavoring. I'm thirsty and I WANT to drink, but it is just so hard! 2. Premier Protein drinks give me migraines. 3. My mouth and teeth constantly feel gritty and coated! 4. I get hungry and think something will be good, but everything ends up being a disappointment. 5. Constipation... 6. Not able to get many calories at all. Makes me tired. 7. I have a four year old. I have gotten caught out and about with nothing to eat for too long. Get so tired and worry I won't make it. I know I won't be normal as far as eating ever again, but will food eventually stop making me feel sick...water too? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  9. I was doing pretty good until day 9. My stomach started to hurt and my heart was pounding out of my chest. Last night I went to the hospital for dehydration. I had been drinking as much as I could handle, but last night I started to throw up Water and anything. I didn't have a leak and everything is fine. The doctor said my stomach is starting to scar and that could be causing some stomach discomfort. He said to take my anti nausea meds and drink as much as I could. Today I didn't get any food in hardly at all. Just a lot of liquid. I'm hoping tomorrow is better. Feeling so drained! Can barely do anything for longer than 15 minutes. 10. Hey! I don't feel bad. I'm. It in pain and not throwing up or anything. I just get full in like 1 spoonful! I can drink without any problem now. That is my savior! I drink and put Protein in everything I drink. I want to eat...just nothing I'm allowed to eat. Ha! I haven't cheated or anything...just struggling. 13. I feel the best when I just do stuff! I went to church and the grocery today, 4 days post op! Now...I was tired when I got home and took a 2 hour nap! I think it is just because I can't eat much. I might get 2oz at a time in! Plus...I used to like yogurt and pudding...yeah...not now!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  14. Oh I know! That's what I'm afraid of! I'm a hard stick anyway! Throw in dehydration and I'm screwed! I'm just focusing on Water with protein and sugar free popsicles at the moment. Figure that is the most important! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  15. Thanks...I'm just afraid I'm not getting enough of anything in! I've had like 6oz of Water with Protein and 50 calories worth of food today! I hope it's gets easier. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  16. I am 3 days post op and I am really struggling to eat. I am allowed to have stage 2 full liquid, like yogurt, pudding, Protein shakes and applesauce. I am lucky if I can get an ounce of food down. I dread having to eat. How long will this last? Will I ever want to eat? Drinking is super hard too. Help!
