  1. That sounds like a great day to have it! I'm hoping for a Thursday or Friday so I can have that weekend, that week and the next weekend to recover. I work for OhioHealth in Mansfield and have a desk job so I don't think it will be bad at all from what I've read from other sleepers who've had it.
  2. You look great! Thank you so much for the info! I do know I'll have to meet with a nutritionist 3 times. They told me that we're looking at either January or February for surgery ????. So excited to see what things are like after. I hope I have as much success as you!
  3. Yes, it's the same place ???? Sent from my SM-G930V using the BariatricPal App
  4. Congrats! I am in the beginning stages of WLS and go for my group orientation Sept 27 at The McConnell Heart Center and Dr. Rana is going to be doing my surgery. If you don't mind can you share the process that you went through in this program? I have so many questions lol. You said no preoperative diet, is that typical for this program? What was the post-op care like? I'm sorry for so many questions, but I've read a lot of other stories, but looking for one specific for the hospital I am going through. Thanks@
  5. ...shaving my legs in the tub without feeling like I should be a contortionist in Cirque De Soleil Sitting in a normal lawn chairs without spilling out of the sides
  6. Congrats and thanks for sharing!! Gives us pre-sleepers hope ????
  7. Did you think it was easier exercising post-op than before getting sleeved? When did your notice a difference in your energy level? I go for my first group nutriton class on Thursday and make an appointment with the surgeon that day too. So excited!...especially after seeing your results as well as others. It's just hard for me to fathom how much different my life will be and what I'll actually look like after I get sleeved.
  8. Yes, I'm pretty certain it is for Riverside. It really kind of surprised me that MM didn't have a checklist. A friend of mine who works in the OhioHealth system also had it done and I think it only took her 6 or 8 months total for her sleeve. Hoping mine is on the 6 month end lol. She looks amazing! I know 3 people who have had it done and are doing great! How are you doing since you'very had it done?
  9. -Shopping for normal size clothes -Having more energy to be able to do more with my son -Not hating the image I see looking back at me in the mirror -Not doing the walk of shame again off of a ride at Cedar Point -Being a healthier version of myself -Being able to run -Not feeling horrified when guys won't look me in the eye/are embarrased when they talk to me because of the way I look (this has happened a lot) -Finally being comfortable in my own skin Sent from my SM-G930V using the BariatricPal App
  10. That's awesome! They did tell me at my meeting with the insurance specialist that we were only required 3 visits with the nutritionist. My insurance is MM Supermed-MedCentral Health System. I'm so glad you had this done ????!
  11. Is/has anyone gone through Riverside Hospital in Columbus for their sleeve? I just met w/my PCP yesterday and he filled out my paperwork for financial aid- as an OhioHealth employee (where this surgery is being done) it's going to be $7200. Just did my urinalysis/blood work this morning and have my first group nutriton class Thursday. I will get scheduled with my visit with the surgeon on Thursday as well. What happens after this? According to my insurance, they really don't have a checklist for things to do. Does anyone have Medical Mutual Supermed Plus? If so, how long did it take to get approved and a surgery date? 12. Best of luck!! I love this community because everyone seems so supportive! Keep us updated on your progress ????
  13. You look amazing! Keep up the great work ????
  14. Although I haven't been sleeved yet (I'm in the process) I think it comes down to life choices. For me I am ready for this life changing tool to regain control over the rest of my life. You have to be ready for it and go into it with that mindset. I think it goes beyond the "Okay I'm ready for this" idea that we all have before we've started every other diet in the past that has failed. This is major..this is surgery...this is the rest of your life...failure is not an option. Sorry if I rambled, but you have to be 100% ready. There is no halfway. Do your research (I've researched this for 2 years), take a hard look at your life and how this could help/hurt your relationship with your family and food. God bless
  15. Best of luck to you!! You've got this ????. I too am on my journey and have my first group nutriton class 9/15. Thinking my time is going to be late winter/early spring.

  17. I started my journey this morning by going to a seminar. I should get a call this coming week letting me know of my coverage for insurance. I am going through OhioHealth and am an employee, so it will be covered. I have been overweight much of my life and am now bigger than I have been for awhile. I have been wanting to do the gastric sleeve for awhile, but my moment of of truth came when I had to do the walk of shame off of a ride at Cedar Point. I was unable to ride the new Valraven because I was too big to fit in the seat . I see what my Mom and patient's go through being obese and I am starting to feel it in my body. I feel it in my knees, I am so tired all of the time and depression plays a big part as well. I just want to be healthy and be around for my son. I want to go and be able to ride any ride and be confident that I can fit in the seat. Sent from my XT1060 using the BariatricPal App
