I dont know about the stretching part but I have had a lot of sucess just eating the meat from the sandwiches, throw out the bun. Chew like crazy and enjoy the meat, its pretty good for you too. I think that Arbys has the best meat. I never feel guilty eating that stuff as some of the beef I cook is hard for me to eat. I keep a clean paper cup with a lid in my car just in case, I has already come in handy sorry to say!
  2. I have heard this line used before when someone said sorry I was or am late. Meaning twisted to mean I missed my . ergo having a baby. I think the guy was a jerk either way he meant it. :speechles
  3. Hey everyone, I didn't fall off the face of the earth or anything but I just came through something pretty goofy.(for about a week) I started to have extreme nausea and dry mouth like Ive never seen. Dr. said my gall bladder may be going south. Ultrasound said no, so blood test for a different check.(like white cell count0checking appendix). All clear there. Next day,dry heaves that were soo weird. Even standing up I couldn't stop. Like a freaking pogo stick in my guts!! So I went to ER to get a nausea shot as my Dr. ordered me too, possible blockage; no blockage, just heaves. Another few days later, OK I'm feeling better, I go off to my water aerobics class that just started, still the stupid dry mouth. Workout was going great until about 35 minutes of splashing I began to feel really funky. Tingling like someone bumpt my funny bones. Zinging tingling. OK maybe I pinched a nerve and continued working out. Now workout is over, about 50 minutes total, shower, return home. and one hour later I still haven't recovered. Just weird fatigue and the same tingling that never left me. So I called DH and he made me call 911.Strange EKG, Ride to ER Many test for Heart attack, not confirmed, butttt then the blood results. Critical level of potassium, that was why I felt so bad. The Dr. said he was surprised I didn't go into defib after working out with that kind of potassium level. A testament as to how healthy my heart is. Next day I see my cardiologist and he wants an angiogram to make sure that my stent hasn't been displaced. Its all well inside there and the reason that my EKG was so off was that my heart was recovering from a kind of bruising so to speak, and It cant rest to recover, so it complains by screwing up my EKG! Now I'm taking it easy, Had my blood pressure meds stopped and the niacinamide stopped, and a new potassium RX. I'm going to be just fine but needless to say I'm not going to booot my camp around for a little while till I get my clearance! So "Ill be baak" as Arnie would say.:sick Almost:faint: :nervous
  4. What breaks my heart are the 2 women that are twins on TV once in a while, their last update was that they promised to gain weight from something like 86 or 96 lbs and they came back skinnier, at 76 lbs. They are near death and they still think they are fat. I saw people just like them in the Holocaust films from the German concentration camps or WW2. I don't know how they can continue to live, they can hardly talk and their faces are blue. I wonder where and when it will all end. It really proves to me that body image is so vital to understand, and why it isn't called health image. God bless those women I hope they can overcome this.
  5. I make a chili with ground buffalo or ground beefalo. It taste a lot better than I thought it could and it can actually help you lower your cholesterol. Its so quick though I just heat and serve. Here it goes. 1 lb browned buffalo 2 packets of taco seasoning 1 tablespoon of ground cumin 2 beef bullion cubes Cook this together first then dump in 1 large can of chopped stewed tomatoes. 1 can of Rotel tomatoes and green chilis 1 can of pinquintos 1 can of white beans 1 can of kidney beans 1 can of refried beans( to thicken the mix) after every thing is mixed in and heated its ready to eat! you can add any kind of beans you like but the can of refried beans is necessary to make things thick. If you like it hotter, add chili powder to the meat mix, or you can add a can of green chili's, or another can of Rotel tomatoes. Its almost too easy to call it cooking! oh yeah salt to taste.
  6. Thanks Pavathi, I could probably find it on the internet and save you the postage, I sure appreciate it though! I am sort of in this mood to try just about anything new as I cant fall back on my old favorites, ahem..you know the naughty stuff. Well I have found out that I like lamb meat also! Its so tender it hasn't stuck yet! I also learned how to make stuffed grape leaves from a friend from Lebanon. I like them but my family isn't so sure about those. I also found out that I like hummus. I just cant have the pita bread. Anyone out there feel adventurous about food too?:biggrin1:
  7. OH thanks everyone! Now I want to taste it! I will find a way and I know that yeast is full of b complex. I too thought of the song about the Vegemite sandwich, What else would someone put on a Vegemite sandwich? Avocado or lettuce or lunch meat or what? Maybe tomatoes? I would appreciate knowing the ingredients for one. I guess its like caviar, salty black and best when used sparingly Ha!
  8. I'm starting water exercise this month too! I love water, Ive never done water aerobics though. It will be every morning for 45 minutes. Cant wait!
  9. Good for YOU! On your way!
  10. Dear friends from Queensland. What on earth is Vegemite? I saw it as a recommendation from a list of foods that came to me from my Dr. office and they got this list from Australia. It talks of Joules and things like Vegemite spread on bread. Is it like p-nut butter? Please forgive my ignorance, but I am truly interested!
  11. Thanks guys, I'm really missing my water at meals. Ill try this as I have now really eaten without drinking something.
  12. I'm sick of it too, I know they make a lot of money off of desperate people. I'm also sick of people saying that the lap-band is taking the "easy" way out. Its not, its hard work. I am just happy that I am able to get out at all!
  13. Dont fret, when my boys were small I was identified as one of the teletubbies!!! Now I know why toddlers love the program so much,, Most post partum mommies look an awfull lot like those telle tubbies from a small little body looking up at thier mommies! So much for my 15 seconds of fame.
  14. Several years ago I had a tremendous problem in this area. My Dr told me to eat a whole yam every day for several months. He said that the fiber was gentle and cleansing. Also the natural vitamin a in the yam would be directly absorbed into the colon which heals mucous membranes. The reason I needed to eat them for so long is that he said I needed to regulate the movement in my bowel and move something everyday. I was pretty useful for me, I didn't think his advice was for real but I tried it anyway. And you know what? It was the best thing I ever did for myself, even though I got sick of yams!
  15. Great Job! I hope you can post some pics. Im proud of you. And this is great advice, separating out the lipo from the rest. Heres to your good health!
  16. Thanks for tracking all this. I have exercised, kept the water in but the eating hasnt been easy. I worked my first fill in and the eating part was hard. I'm trying to get in all my protien and have resorted to protien shakes twice. I am taking a vitamin every day. I still have junk food around the house. I'm not the only one around here with buying power!! Ive been able to limit my trys at junk food because im afraid of PBing. So far Im down 30 lbs. my goal is to be down by 65 more lbs by June. So I lost the last 8 lbs sinse Jan 1st. Is anyone out there experiencing the sleepies? I sure am. Maybe its the way I escape the reality of not eating much anymore.:notagree When does all the energy kick in?
  17. I wanted to know what kind of walking shoes that you guys use for walking exercise and I tried to use the search forum and couldn't get it to work for me. Ive used a computer for a few years and I think that I should be able to figure this one out, but every time I enter the fields and push the start search button, I get this screen that says you will be redirected bla bla bla:mad: and then it pops back the the search forum field and the fields are all blank, Is it just down or something?:angry sorry for the bad attitude!
  18. I have a 10 cc band and I got my first fill of 1.5. I ate mushies this afternoon and didn't have any problem.. I ate a few pieces of beef and chewed well, and no problem. Then the third bite! Whoa was I surprised! I took a brisk walk around the block in the cold rain,(glad I used an umbrella) and walked it out. I'm glad the air was fresh and clean and cold. It did the trick. When I got home I drank water and about 3 hrs later I was hungry so I ate Cream of Wheat. That was fine, It helped the medicine I use stay down better. I am on the learning curve!:nervous

Isn't it fun? Ive been trippin down memory lane all day. I even got out my high school album. Its really weird like a time warp for me. Ive been listening to great Christian music for a long time now and I still love it. I haven't listened to oldie stations because they mix up so many different things. This music is from 30 years ago and I can still remember most of the words! How can that be when I cant even remember where I put my car keys last? lol I guess I used up all the memory space on my hard drive a long time ago!

I found this great website to make your own music station. Its called www.pandora.com and you name your station, list a few artist or songs that you like and then they play more based on your input! I love it I dance around the house and if it plays a song I don't like, I give it a thumbs down on the guide us button. If you like it you give it a thumbs up! and guess what, it "learns" from your selections. Its great to exercise to. I did a search on music from my hi school years and entered a bunch of artist and song titles. Its grovin on a Saturday afternoon! It takes a little while to get to know you but it really gets interesting. Its a kind of learning technology that starts to categorize your likes and dislikes and keeps picking new songs. You can even create a favorites list. I just love it:cool: :clap2:
  21. Thats a good point hodegard! I think that most of the cost are for the facility and personnel. I think I will try to attend, I'm not sure I can just yet. I know I would like to! Molly Molly, do you want to carpool? Just a thought.
  22. When I get delayed for some reason, I try to think that God needed me to arrive at my destination later for a reason only known to Him. It helps. I have had many Dr. change insurance procedures and even one Dr. changed from paper files to all electronic ones. The office had to scan every document and transcribe every note electronically. They even e-mail prescriptions. I didn't have any delays and was shocked at the way the Dr. kept all records electronically now its so convenient for her to check history with the search button! That office your dealing with needs a better office supervisor. Have you spoken with the Dr. about this? What does he say about all the problems? I don't think there should be this much confusion either. I agree with gentlespirit.
  23. Thats a good idea to meet other bansters at a meal or something, it would help newbies learn to order off the menu and slow down to eat etc. I would like to do that too.
  24. I'm getting my first fill this Thursday and without knowing what to expect, I find myself wondering too much. Will I get uber gassy again? Will I be a good bandster? How long will I need liquids? How much fill will I end up getting? I'm finally on my way, My cardiologist visit today went really well. He was happy I lost weight already and wanted to know how I feel. I think I might be his first banded patient as most everyone else is older than me in the waiting room. He wanted to know how it feels and where exactly is it placed on the stomach, why is saline involved. I told him I was getting a fill and explained as much as I understand. I see him again in 4 months. He really helped me get the surgery because he did all the weight charting and wrote a heavy letter telling that the procedure was a prescription from him as all the other weight loss attempts weren't working. He said he gets weary of Insurance Co.'s telling him what he cant do unless he gets tough on them. So I bounce back between feeling good about todays visit and then feeling intrepid about my first fill. I don't know why its bothering me so much. I guess ill get over it. I have to!
  25. I don't think ill ever eat another banana as long as I live!!:omg:
