Gaining Weight after one year post sleeve! PLEASE HELP!
Funny ... I just asked this, question at the seminar and doc said it can stretch...hmmmm. Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App VSG revision due to stretching is a thing and surgeons wouldn't offer it if it didn't happen. For example http://www.revisionalsurgery.com/bariatric-revision-surgery/sleeve-revision-surgery/

Panko, "unfried" foods?
I would just try one bite first time, make sure to chew until the crumbs are softened in your mouth, then get braver next time if all goes well! PS - Fatpunk (I lol'd) meet fat metalhead

Less and less food
I'm 7 weeks post op and have been completely losing my appetite as well. The last handful of days I wouldn't eat at all if I wasn't concerned for the health impacts. I'm trying to get creative with ideas that are super appetizing even if it's not my optimal nutrition. Since I'm low-carbing it, last night I made a tiny mock pizza as that was always a favorite food. I did at least eat that but still didn't really care if I ate at all. I remember when I tried Atkins pre-surgery a couple of times over the years I had the same phenomena. If it keeps being a struggle to eat, I may go back on carbs and see if it helps my appetite, for a few days at least. I'm liking the wl results with low carb though. My mock pizza is a layer of shredded cheese (1-2 oz) on small section of a baking sheet, then I put pizza ingredients on top including ground beef for the Protein, under the broiler for 2-5, cool for a minute, then serve. Muffin tins would work equally well.

Feel like such a failure...
First and foremost, I strongly believe in the idea that we are what we think we are, so the negative self talk has GOT to go. You are a successful WLS patient who has fallen off the wagon a bit. A failure is someone who quits, refusing to try again. You regained only 20 pounds and you are back. You could have waited until you had regained 40, 60, 100, or 100+ or you could have thrown in the towel all together. YOU ARE NOT A FAILURE. Go back to your surgeon and see what he/she recommends. Go back to your pre-op diet for a week or two. Go back to liquids for a week or two. Start weighing/measuring/tracking your food and move your ass a little more than normal. You can totally do this. You are not a failure until you stop trying. You don't sound like a failure to me at all. @@LipstickLady I unliked this so I could like it twice!

i am going to whine about my stall.
When I stalled I cut back carbs and unstalled right away. It may be worth a try.

Being politically correct sucks!
@@newjerseygirl60 I agree there is no perfect system.

Being politically correct sucks!
I'm really surprised by your perspective. I'm a 49 year old Canadian that has lived from coast to coast (literally). I had a sister born with kidney issues and had one removed at 5 days old and the other a little later. We spent her 33-year life in the health care system and considered ourselves fortunate to have what we do in Canada. Wonderful care. Knowing as many people as one does by the time they're my age, I've seen and heard it all and it does not mirror what you state. Yes sometimes there are longer wait times for tests if a case is not urgent but it's not a common issue. The media will tend to focus on the extreme exceptions and people will tend to use examples that help their perspective, so I guess you'd have to live here to judge it

Being politically correct sucks!
As a Canadian I can't fathom this, and I'm sorry to hear you're dealing with crazy rates like this. There's a lot of misinformation out there about how things run here, but I'll take our system any day. I did self-pay my surgery but only because I didn't want the 2-3 year wait being only a 40BMI.

I do with no issues

Lemon water
I drank lemon juice in my Water for many years but stopped after surgery as it didn't taste good to me anymore. Maybe i'll try again now that it's been a few weeks.

Scheduling surgery question
This really depends on the surgeon and their schedule at a point in time. I did self pay and could have gotten in in less than a month, though I needed to make it a bit later due to scheduling conflict.

What soups?
In addition to the many great ideas above I used to drink basic beef or chicken broth but add some milk for extra nutrition and Protein. Fast and easy and sometimes was easier on my sleeve because the flavour was mild.

Late decision change.
I agree with @imightknow. Inconveniencing their surgery schedule affects them for a few hours. Your choice of surgery affects YOU for the rest of your life. It was unprofessional of them to guilt trip you.

Surgery tomorrow and a question...
Carbonated beverages bloat (and can eventually stretch) the sleeve. Not worth it.

My First Real Test, 6 Weeks Post-Op
I've only had one person ask if I've had 'help' with my weight-loss and I've denied it. I'm such a private person and for me it's an easier path to learn to tell little white lies if I need to, though I don't like to do that. Happy for your progress @!

My First Real Test, 6 Weeks Post-Op
Hi @@blizair09, They do, but I'm keeping my surgery secret. There was no way to specify my diet without it seeming unusual. I just got home now though and I didn't gain. My stomach is finicky from a few days of eating foods that didn't sit well, but I'll eat Soups and other easy foods tomorrow now that I'm home Michelle Does your work give you the opportunity to give any dietary restrictions you have beforehand in situations like this? Mine has always done that and whoever is coordinating the event always work with those that have dietary needs in one way or the other.

Also it was very difficult to keep it hidden that I'm not eating much, stretching out my meal and pushing food around on my plate. But I've managed, and no one seems to suspect my secret.

My First Real Test, 6 Weeks Post-Op
It's been a difficult week. lunch was catered, and team dinners had limited menu, so I had to eat what I was served, and it wasn't what I would have chosen. Portion sizes were very difficult to judge without being able to weigh and measure so early in my journey. I threw up a couple of times this week. I also 'slimed' for the first, second, third and even fourth time this week If you're not sure what it means be happy. If it happens you'll know, trust me. No explanation needed. I'm pretty sure I may have also gained a bit this week. Tomorrow I fly home...Can't wait to get back in a routine and on track. I think I may eat gentle foods for a few days as this has been hard on my new little sleeve.

My First Real Test, 6 Weeks Post-Op
Not going stellar so far, but hoping I can make this work ok now that the jetlag is over at least. Yesterday I ate the wrong foods and today I didn't eat at all until 8pm. Hoping the work event menus are manageable.

Did anyone else have an easy recovery? I'm getting downright paranoid....
Day 3 I stopped pain meds, and my recovery has been smooth. I'm grateful as I know it's not always the case. I relate to the idea that it might be going 'too' well, though it sounds odd to say it. Just be grateful, keep following the surgeon's instructions, and make the most of this opportunity.
