How much longer?

Hi everyone.

I am almost exactly 3 months post op. I am worried a little tho. Currently I can eat maybe 2 bites of anything, soft cheese, yogurt, banana, but I get so much pain when I eat. It's like that's all my body will allow me to eat. It is so frustrating and annoying. I am hungry. I feel hungry but yet I do not want to eat anything at all because I don't feel like suffering for the next 30mins while my stomach tries to digest. So my question is... Will this pain every go away? When will I get to eat more than 2 bites of food without suffering?

Thank you all so much!

Have you talked to your surgeon? I am 3.5 mths out and have never experienced any pain while eating or drinking. I can eat about 10 bites at a meal. Pain should not be your norm.

I agree with @@suzzzzz that this is not normal. If you have not yet discussed it with your surgeon I suggest you do that right away. There may be an issue that by not having it addressed may get worse with time, or at least not get better.

Good luck!

Thank you for your help. I do go see my surgeon the 21st. But perhaps I should see about seeing him sooner.

I really recommend at least calling and mentioning. He may not want this to wait if he knew. In addition to any issue there might be, it also can't be healthy just from a caloric intake perspective. You might be malnourished. I hope you don't wait 11 days.

Hello!

I am doing a little better. I still cannot eat more than 2-3 bites of anything but the pain is a little less now.
