  1. TrishaS Thanks for the info. I will call and find out. No one has mentioned a group to me as yet. I am just curious, how long was it before Dr. Smith let you add soft food? I will be 3 weeks post op tommorrow and I am still on full lqs. Maybe I am rushing, but my next appt is not until 12/22, he said we would discuss it then. When did you have your first fill?
  2. JohnDeereGal I think you are right, maybe I ate too much too fast. The pain is almost gone. I also could have done too much yesterday. I went to the mall and walked a lot. But on the upside, I lost another pound!
  3. I have found that I need to learn to deal with the emotions. I was a emotional eater, eating when I am sad, happy, stressed out etc. It was so easy then, all I had to do was reach for the ben and jerrys, chips, cookies or whatever else I could find. I think this is going to be my biggest challenge. What do you do instead of eat???? Maybe I need a hobby.
  4. I am on day 19 and doing fairly well. Today I have a "new pain". It is located directly in the middle of my upper torso. It is right under the highest incision. It is a pulling of sorts. It is not the port, as that has its own "burn". Has anyone else had this sort of pulling pain?
  5. If we take all of the big clothes to a thrift shop before the end of the year we could get a deduction to use at tax time.
  6. I am also on full liquids. It won't be three weeks until Thursday, and my Doctor says he wants me on this full liquid diet for 6 weeks! It seems like it will never end. I had to laugh about the ALPO, as I feel the same way! I did find this great squash soup by Campbells. It has been a life saver.
  7. You are so prepared! One other thing I would get is an ice pack. It seemed to help me more than heat.
  8. I am very new to the list. I live in Pueblo and Dr. Smith did my surgery. I was banded on 11/3/05. Does anyone go to a support group in the area? What is a good one to go to?
  9. I was banded on 11/03/05. I had a lot of pain and could not keep awake for at least 3 days post op. Thank God for pain meds. Thanksgiving day will be 3 weeks post op and I am feeling so much better. My doc has me on full liquids, so my turkey day will wait until next year. the good part is I have already lost 22 lbs!
