skloewer got a reaction from Patticake74 in Shoe size?
I dropped a shoe size and width. Now I can wear wedges and heels, which I could never do prior to surgery!

I had my surgery 8/17. I'm down 50 pounds and 21 inches. I eat a lot of fish, nuts, and cheese to get my Protein. I couldn't handle the premiere Protein shakes. Would love to chat with more sleevers! Y'all inspire me so much!

skloewer got a reaction from AimeeAnd in Over emotional and regretting surgery?
I was a hot mess the first two weeks from surgery. Commercials were making me bawl. It gets better. Like others have said, the anesthesia and hormones from your fat really flood your system. It feels almost out of control. I promise it gets better. Just hang in there, day by day. Sometimes you have to go hour by hour or even minute to minute.

skloewer got a reaction from Winky7650 in Not telling anyone. What do you say?
At first, I was really bashful about sharing about the surgery. I kept it a secret, but after a while, I was just so proud of all the hard work I had to tell people! Now I wear it like a badge of honor. I made the decision to change my life and save my life! People have crap to say always, but I want to encourage people to be brave in taking control of their own health. I love talking about it now.
Protect yourself. Ultimately, this is about you. If you have family that will not be supportive, don't share. If you have friends who would cheer you on and cheer you up on hard days, share away. Most importantly, don't let it be a source of shame for you. YOU made the awesome decision to change your life. You are putting in all the work. The surgery is a tool to that success.
And if you don't have anyone in your life right now you could openly talk about it with, share with us! I will for sure cheer you on.

skloewer got a reaction from Cartersmom33 in Protein powders
I could not handle the premiere Protein shakes. They upset my stomach immediately. So I went through several powders and ready made shakes to try to find one I liked and didn't make me ill. I've ended up using Unjury's powder. I have strawberry, vanilla, and chocolate. There are tons of fun flavorful recipes on Pinterest. I use Fairlife fat free milk because it has 12 grams of Protein in one cup. My favorite recipe right now is a cup of milk, vanilla powder, and pumpkin spice extract with a little stevia. Tastes like fall but more importantly, it doesn't taste like powder. I have also really liked Isopure's Unflavored Pure whey Protein. I've mixed that in Gatorade Zero, Jello mix, and even Peanut Butter. You really cannot taste it. All of these I ordered through Amazon or purchased at my doctors office.
It's really frustrating trying to find one because you want to get protein in. Just keep trying and don't give up.

Oh love, I hear what your saying.
Try to stay in the moment. Mindfulness is a great tool, it will help you relax and help not look forward or backwards. Just being here right now in this moment then the next etc. Sitting with these feelings and acknowledging them is great!
Your mind and body are tired right now but over time things will get better.
Hope today is better for you xx

So for those of you regretting surgery and struggling, are you seeing a therapist.? In my experience, this is critical to success and yes, should be mandatory before and after any WLS. It's done wonders for all aspects of my life. just Like the OP said, we suffer from a psychological addiction that surgery did not address in any way shape or form.

Based on how much better I am feeling today after being really strict yesterday with my liquids, I think dehydration was the issue. Not in any bp meds so that's ok. Drinking like a fish today. Wish it was a margarita;)

skloewer reacted to heidikat72 in 3 week stall?
I didn't lose anything the first two weeks either - not even a tenth of a pound. Then in the next two weeks I lost 22lbs. So instead of the typical week 3 stall, I just had a delayed start. Everyone is different. Just stick with your plan and have faith.

Unjury chicken Soup Protein Powder, Celebrate Tomato Soup Protein powder, high protein Soups sold at Nashua Nutrition. Just because lots of other people eat fake sweet stuff doesn't mean you have to -- go savory!
