@jellybean12 haha! I love it!- Weight Before & After
@hmm33502 Thanks! You are doing great! I was banded in 2008 at 380 pounds but had too many complications and had it removed in 2012 and gained a million pounds.- Weight Before & After
Starting weight (10/29/15)-540 Surgery weight (5/29/16)-480 Current weight (2/23/17)-315- I know I'm crazy but...
@Berry78 Thank you. Maybe that is a good idea. I need to stop focusing on it so much.- I know I'm crazy but...
@HB76356 Yeah, thats what I'm trying to do. It's hard when I want to see a much better me and I just see...me. @Berry78 I am going by photos. I used to be able to see such a big difference but now I feel like I look almost the same. It's frustrating.- I know I'm crazy but...
Lately when I look back at photos of me before surgery I don't see much of a difference. I know I have lost 225 pounds. I can FEEL the difference since I no longer have to use oxygen 24/7, I can buy smaller clothes, I can fit in booths and chairs...but I feel like I look the same. I talked to my therapist about this and she said that can happen. It's kind of a body dysmorphic thing. Has anyone else gone through this? How did you get past it??? It's very discouraging.- 6 month stall/plateau and scared!
I was eating only 600-800 calories around that time and my nutritionist told me I needed to be eating between 1000-1200! I think you are eating way too little. If you don't eat enough you won't lose weight. You also need to be getting at least between 60-80 grams of Protein a day. I think if you up your intake you will start losing again. Also remember muscle weighs more than fat, try and check your measurements in addition to the scale- Stall.
It is different for everyone. Just make sure you are following your nutrition and Vitamin guidelines and it will pass. Your body has to adjust to the new amount of calories. You can try to increase your physical activity but if you are soon out of surgery don't push yourself. Just walk. It will pass. Try not to focus on the scale. Have you been taking your measurements? Sometimes you are losing inches even when you are not losing pounds. Try to focus on how your clothes are fitting more than the number on the scale.- Pain
@rubia72I had that issue a little because I ran out of pain meds and the call in nurses line wouldn't give me any more. Then I saw my surgeon a few days later and he saw I could hardly walk from the pain (I don't do well after surgery) and was like, "okay, you need more pain meds" :-p- Drinks
I liked Protein shakes, Water with different sugar free squirt bottle flavors, and tea.- What is your fav vitamin and protien shake brands?
My favorite premade shakes are premier protein shakes. The caramel ones are the best to me, they taste just like butterscotch pudding! I also like GNC lean shakes. I think the pumpkin spice ones tatse like the cereal milk from cinnamon toast crunch! I like the strawberry banana chewable multi vitamins from GNC the best. My doctor also does not allow gummy vitamins.- LOVE YOURSELF VALENTINES CHALLENGE
@one year post op Don't be depressed! That is ONE pound!! You will lose it in no time! I'm now up 2 pounds but I know why and I'm working on making sure I don't gain any more! We can get back on it!- Freakin NSV!
@Spousalunit Thank you so much! @rubia72 Aww thanks!! You all keep me going!- Freakin NSV!
@tamara2333 Thanks so much!!- Pain
I understand. It can be a scary thing! I have been on pain meds many many many times in my life and I'm thankful I never got addicted. It is better to take them ahead of the pain because it is harder to get it under control if you wait until it's really bad. See what your doctor says though. You will start feel a little better once things get moving and you get rid of the gas and have a bowel movement- Freakin NSV!
@sarahblu Thank you so much! I can't wait!! [emoji5]- Freakin NSV!
@strengthin#ers Thank you!!- Pain
I understand you don't want to get hooked on pain killers but you also should not suffer in pain. I had to take 4 mg of dialaudid for 3 weeks every 4-6 hours I was in so much pain. I do not do that well after surgery though. You are given pain meds so you so not have to be in so much pain.- Freakin NSV!
@Omieliz Thank you!!- The weight loss cha-cha
@DebSmiles I'm ready for a dance party! I can't imagine how hard it must be to travel for work! I just went to visit my sister for the weekend and I'm also going away this coming weekend to visit my friend. I'm going to try and cook more this coming weekend though! The scale will definitely be the judge of what I ate! I weighed myself when I got home and I lost a pound from when I left but I know weight doesn't get added right away! - LOVE YOURSELF VALENTINES CHALLENGE
