@@bitingcat Thank you! I was so worried I missed my honeymoon period because of all the complications. I had a lot of trouble losing while on the TPN infusions because they were infusing 1200 calories each night while I couldn't eat. Then when I was finally able to eat a little (300-500 calories) a day I started to gain weight because they were giving me the 1200 on top of that. I was in and out of the hospital with blood infections and extreme nausea and pain. I also had (and still have) pretty bad anemia. The weight wasn't coming off like I thought it would. It was VERY frustrating. Thankfully I am feeling 100% better and am able to work out and eat all my calories on my own. Everyone loses at a different pace, when you have injuries and illnesses it just further complicates things. You can do it! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Body image and sex
@@OutsideMatchInside I can understand where you are coming from. I am still about 135 pounds from goal still, I'm only 7 months post op, but once I'm there I'll have lost 340 pounds. That's more than some people who get the surgery even weigh. The hanging skin is going to be terrible and I am starting to save now for plastic surgery. I also feel alone in this a lot of the time. Even on here because many people here have 100 pounds to lose. That's not to say what they go through is any less but it's a different experience than what I am going through. I'm happy with my decision to do the surgery and I'm so much happier with myself with hanging skin than the extra weight, at least with clothes on. I didn't really feel self conscious about my body when I was so overweight during sex in the past. This is an odd feeling for me. I think it may also be because I took a 5 year break from dating and sex before getting the surgery. I also feel like dating now is so much worse than it used to be. It's hard out there. I feel like internet dating has made it both easier and harder to meet someone. Easier because you can meet people who you wouldn't normally interact with and harder because there are so many options people flit around from person to person as if scared there might be something better out there and not wanting to settle. I hope you can get the money saved up for surgery soon so you can be more comfortable, physically and emotionally. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

@@larry971 Thank you, that is very sweet of you. I guess very few women (if any) are comfortable being naked in front of others. I have been overweight since I was 3 years old, I know my extra skin situation is just going to get worse. I guess it's just a battle I'm going to have with my self confidence. It's true that the more confidence you show, the less others will care about the "imperfections" you see in yourself. Body image and sex
So this may be tmi but my doctor pointed something out to me the other day and I wondered if anyone else had this issue. Even though I'm not anywhere close to goal I have a bunch of hanging skin since I've lost 200 lbs. I just turned 30 and just started dating again. I don't feel comfortable being naked with someone because I feel disgusting. My doctor pointed out I was fine and didn't care about how my body looked when I was much heavier. It really made me stop and think. I don't know why I was more okay being naked when I was heavier than I do now. The only thing I can think of is that I didn't care at all what I looked like before and now I do. I wear make up and I dress nice now. I don't know how to become comfortable enough with my new body and hanging skin to be intimate with someone. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I made regular food and just puréed it in my magic bullet. Things cooked in a slow cooker are great to puree because they are very soft. Make sure you purée the meat with enough sauce/broth. @ that is great you inspired him to lose weight! Unfortunately you can't force someone to lose weight if they aren't ready to. I wasn't ready for a long time and only really started to care when I got so heavy I needed oxygen and was too heavy for the tables for the tests they wanted to do. Over 200 pounds down!
So I started my journey on October 30th 2015 at 540 pounds. This is the highest I've ever been. I had to be on oxygen because I was so overweight it was pressing against my lungs. I had to do 6 months of a supervised diet and lost 60 pounds before my surgery and had my surgery weighing 480 pounds. I had a horrible time after surgery as some on here may remember. I was in extreme pain for 3 weeks then extreme nausea for 5 months. The nausea was so bad I didn't eat or drink for over a month and had to get a picc line and give myself infusions overnight to get my fluids and nutrients. They removed my gallbladder in October of this year and I started to feel much better. I now feel great and am finally starting to be able to enjoy my smaller size! I'm having fun working out at the gym and I'm starting to feel pretty and trying to date. I now weigh 336 pounds! That's 204 pounds down from my first weigh in and 144 pounds down since my surgery May 29th 2015! I'm so excited to be going in the right direction! I just turned 30 in November and I can't wait to finally start living my life! Here are some before and after pictures!
