kerber got a reaction from WifeyMaterial in Question?
I was 8 days without and had dumping syndrome from it. My surgeon told me to get some milk of magnesia and to get my bowels moving. You should call your surgeon and ask what they recommend.

kerber got a reaction from DogRescuer in Liquids taste horrible to me!
Buy single servings of Protein powders until you find ones that you like. Isopure I don't like. Intex and phormula I like. I also loved the bariatric pal strawberry short cake and I just got a orange cream from them. I have a vanilla one I like from costco too. I have about 8 different flavors so I don't get sick of one kind.

kerber reacted to dccarite in Old habits
I am going to give a really honest and respectful response. I don't think it's a lack of motivation. You clearly have a disorder if you were prescribed medication for it before. Disorders don't just go away bc they remove half your stomach. I am a mental health counselor and have a master's degree. So I'm not just spewing uneducated opinions. You need counseling to restructure the relationship you have with food. You can take all the medication you want, you can get the surgery 100 times if you don't work on the cognitive part of the process you'll continue to backslide.
I really hope you understand this and go speak with a counselor not just the psychiatrist. Please let me know how you're doing. Good luck to you.

kerber got a reaction from Shi-Shi80 in Enormous Weight Loss: Just the Tip of the Iceberg.
Abby that was very well written. You can't change the past and you can't fix stupid. For your peace of mind, block those negative people. There is a meme and I can't find it. But it said it's okay to remove the negative people from your life so that you can enjoy your happiness.

Sounds like you have gastric reflux. This happened to me too. They added Carafe 30 mins before meals and at bedtime. You need to tell your surgeon or team about you symptoms.

kerber got a reaction from lelewatson in Scrambled eggs?
I pureed eggs and they tasted awful pureed. I would wait until you can have soft foods. My nutritionist Said to try to add salsa for flavor. I pureed up two rotisserie chickens deboned and deskinned and that saved me. Got some low fat gravy and mashed potatoes. Pureed cottage cheese tastes like plain yogurt.

kerber reacted to stevedallas in After 4 years.....
I was 52 in 2012 when I had the sleeve. I was 275 pounds. I lost 90....and have since gained back 5. Yep. After 4 years, I am still 190. My initial goal was 200. Four years later, I am still 190. I have hovered right at 185-190.
The Sleeve changed my life. I get up at 4am daily and walk 5 miles before work. I still Protein load and carb avoid. I drink a LOT of Water daily.
For me, the Sleeve has worked.....and continues to work. I was pre-diabetic before. Now, my doc says I have the health of a 30-year-old.

kerber got a reaction from Christinamo7 in Worst month of my life
Talk with a counselor or schedule an appoint with your psychologist you had for your surgery. Does your work have an employee assistance program? Take one day at a time and if need be file for intermittent FMLA.

kerber reacted to Inner Surfer Girl in Getting on the activity train.....
You may want to talk to a physical therapist and/or physical trainer.
My favorite exercise by far is in the water: aerobics, walking, jogging, weights, and actual lap swimming. It is easy on the joints and the Water resistance and support really helps.

I am so sorry for your loss.
I agree, be gentle with yourself.
When you are able, you may want to consider some grief counseling. It can be very helpful. My old church used to have a really good grief recovery group.
Sending hugs.

I have the same fears different insurance though. From the information I got after researching a few insurance companies because I was willing to change insurance. They only cover skin removal if it's medically necessary. Like if you get an infection or something. Sent from my SM-N920P using the BariatricPal App

You will. You are gaining muscle which weighs more than fat. You also were pumped full of fluids and more than likely haven't lost that yet. Don't sweat it. It will happen. Sent from my SM-G800R4 using the BariatricPal App
