One is my boss. Two of the others are her parents. I had issues with communication for the coordinator and then I found out that my bosses mom is also a coordinator. Needless to say, I have support for doing this.

Hard time imagining myself small
I imagined myself reasonably small most of my life but in reality I never have been. It's not hard to imagine but it is hard to get there.

Trinity medical in Tijuana. Dr. Mauricio Gutierrez. I personally know 5 people that have been to him. Three of them work in the medical field and they all have said that it's the cleanest place they have ever been in thei life.

Craving
Freeze some crystal light into ice cubes and chew on those.

Any good comebacks?
This made me laugh because it made me think of something I heard back when I was in school. The comment made was I'm fat and you're ugly but at least I can do something about it. I'm not suggesting you say it it just made me laugh thinking about it.

Anyone looking at an August surgery date?
Mine is on August 29th. I'm feeling slightly anxious too. Don't fret too much on the liquid diet. The first day is hard, but I found either having a little chicken broth or a sugar free popsicle helped to satisfy my need to eat. I've just avoided being around other people eating at the moment. Good luck! August 29th as well. 10 day pre op diet started today. My sales guy bought sushi for everyone today. It kinda sucked but strangely it wasn't bad.

Mint extract
I love mint. The girl scouts are going to be bummed because those thin mint Cookies are crack that I'm not buying anymore. My mint desires popped up today I wanted everyone's thoughts on putting mint extract in Protein shakes.

Approved ! But disappointed...
I understand the desire for that week, that is why I scheduled mine then. I definitely understand the excitement as well. That being said, if I hadn't paid for flights it wouldn't bother me if something came up for my wife and I needed to change plans. In your case it sounds like you will be better off with work and your husband to wait. What estuary do you manage?

Pop Rocks and Coke . . . .
I'm still pre op so Greek yogurt and frozen strawberries was quite nice!

Pop Rocks and Coke . . . .
From a man's perspective, crushed ice or course chopped frozen fruit is a wonderful close 2nd to pop rocks. When it is my wife's turn she concurs. Now I need to find a healthy caramel sauce for her. Or perhaps yogurt. I bet my crystal light lemonade ice cubes would be amazballs while on liquids. Or maybe... Oh, sorry, forgot that you were still here. Time to wake up my sweetie!

I'm paying out of pocket. They said that most of the time you can get scheduled in 1-3 weeks.

The mighty scale
highfunctioningfatman replied to highfunctioningfatman's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&AA couple of quick points. As to questioning if I plan on wls, it is paid for out of my pocket on the 29. Many of you have mentioned obsessive behavior with your scale, that would drive me insane. The final point is that my doctor doesn't need my weight, it is a standard of care expected from patients. The only time weight is a factor for typical medicines is when you go in for anesthesia. Those words are directly from my doctor.

The mighty scale
Is anyone else tired of their weight defining who you are? I exceeded the capacity of my 300 pound scale about 3 years ago. According to my doctors scale I was 315 last April. If all goes well then tomorrow I will have utter glee adding lead to my scale as large chunks exit the back of my scale. It should be quite therapeutic! I've also decided that nobody else needs to know my weight either including my doctor. I have a commercial driver's license that I will have to step on a scale for ever two years as a requirement for my medical card but everyone else can pound sand. All I care about is being happy with myself and that damn scale sure never did.

NSV shout outs
My surgery is the 29th and I've made enough changes pre op that as of this weekend I am completely off of my blood pressure meds.

Request from employer
I have blue cross of Florida as well. By the time that I jumped through the hoops and looked at the lost wages while jumping through those hoops it wasn't worth it. I go to Tijuana on the 29th for less out of pocket costs.

Goin fishin?
highfunctioningfatman replied to highfunctioningfatman's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&AUnfortunately I'm the guy who can't do nothing. If I'm sick (once every 10-12 years I take a sick day) I feel better doing anything rather than sitting. That always gets me into trouble in my garage because next thing I know I'm cutting, welding, painting, fabricating... Fishing may be the lesser of the evils.

Goin fishin?
highfunctioningfatman replied to highfunctioningfatman's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&ASurgery would be on a Monday and this would be the Saturday or Sunday after. I definitely know that I will have to take it easy. I talked to my surgeon and he said that if I was up to it and didn't try to horse it in that would be good but to not be standing or twisting when passing the rod. Trout fishing would be fine.

Goin fishin?
highfunctioningfatman replied to highfunctioningfatman's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&AI have to admit that I'm crazy. I figure that if I can handle the flight back ok then I can handle the boat ride. I know that I can do trout or bass but salmon is salmon!

Goin fishin?
My brother in law is coming the day after I get back from surgery. He and I always go fishing while he is here. Salmon will be in the river. Obviously I can't fight and land one could I set the hook and pass the pole? I plan to ask my doc but I wanted opinions. We would stop the boat as often as I need to so I can walk. Whatcha think, can I go fishin?

The look your pet gives when your naked
We call one of our cats "voyeur kitty" because she purrs during intimate moments. She got kicked out when she tried to get between my legs...
