  1. This is me when I got sick last year. I bought myself this balloon. Laughter is the best medicine and I felt like poop so I put my balloon on this dead deer. It is true, I felt much better stumbling back to my truck laughing my ass off. This is me playing with the dinosaurs naughty bits. Before you judge me keep in mind that he has really short arms and look how happy he is! I'm a nut. Here I was loosing my mind after doing the job of 5 people with 2. 70-80 hour weeks had been going on way too long.
  2. Broccoli balls are Broccoli (obviously) Stove top stuffing Parmesan cheese Egg as a binder. Throw is all in a food processor, make balls and bake on 325 for 12 minutes or so.
  3. Check this out! Couldn't be happier. http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/376089-wasting-away-in-margaritaville
  4. Sleeved 8/29 and went back to work today 9/6 and doing awesome!
  5. If dub is crazy enough to turn down a good time... My wife has a 4 year in psychology with an emphasis on abnormal sexualality. I swear that I'm her thesis paper! Sticks and stones may break my bones but whips and chains excite me!
  6. I was sleeved last Monday. I feel great! I should have added that I'm back to work today.
  7. I have been "stealing" the broth from Safeways hot soup bar. I grab it from chunky chicken noodle. By the time I'm done it is super chunky! I transfer some into one of my wife's insulated coffee mugs and sip away. I just look like an everyday coffee freak now.
  8. I was sleeved last Monday. Back to work today. Soooooo happy! I would drive myself bat shit crazy if I was in your situation.
  9. I laughed so hard reading this that snot came out! Seriously funny! I'm a man though so please continue.
  10. We did 3 batches total of the asparagus. What was really cool is that the faux potatoes were a hit, 90%of a big ol salad was gone, the chicken was loved by all and that the only carb heavy item was the broccoli balls, they are always popular but we just made the one batch so they are gone. If I can find an alternative to the stove top stuffing used in the balls then perhaps those will be healthier too. Thanks on my username! It is true though, my fat wasn't causing me "problems" but it was a problem in itself.
  11. That is the first batch of asparagus. Chicken boobies don't need feet!
  12. 29th here as well. Pain free after the first 6 hours. Discomfort for a day. I was wore out on Thursday after Walmart shopping but Friday I did a longer round of Walmart and Safeway both. I walked 2 miles with my brother in law doing dishes golf today and I still feel great. Tomorrow I'm going salmon fishing. I start pureed diet tomorrow.
  13. I cooked this for family and friends. I was sleeved on Monday. Didn't bother me at all. Tomorrow I'm going salmon fishing. If I catch one I will fire up the smoker again tomorrow.
  14. Four hours total over 2 flights on Wednesday. No problem.
  15. I spent some time on the smoker and grill! Blackberry bbq chicken boobies, smoked bacon wrapped mushroom and parsley stuffed chicken thighs. We had a bunch of family and friends over. They enjoyed. Not pictured was a nice salad that was on the table. Those mashed potatoes? They aren't potatoes, that is mashed cauliflower. My mother in law always peels her potatoes. We grabbed the skins and cut them up into the cauliflower mash. Nobody knew until we told at the end.
  16. Had a bunch of family and friends over tonight. Rib eyes, shrimp, a potato, onion and mushroom dish all on the grill. My wife did broccoli balls in the oven. Of course I can't have any of it. I had broth and that's ok. At 4 weeks out I can have normal foods. I did realize that watchin them eat is like going to a strip club, no matter how much ya wanna, ya ain't gonna get any!
  17. I was sleeved on Monday and I have 6 people that I'm cooking for tonight. The bbq is loaded with rib eyes, shrimp and a potato, onion and mushroom dish that is always requested. Tomorrow I will be doing smoked, bacon wrapped, mushroom and parsley stuffed chicken thighs. Of course I can't have any of it. Oh well. This guy is going to be rebuilt into a healthy skinny guy and that is truly amazing!
  18. Damn you guys... I shot the piss out of my scale and it felt great! Fifty rounds through my .357 up in the woods making that piece of crap dance! Ahhhhh! One of my other duties at work is that I teach defensive driving. I was teaching a class 2 days before my pre op diet and I was stressing using mirrors while backing not just the camera. I always stress that the back up camera is a tool, the mirrors are a tool, keeping your eyes moving is a skill and a tool, getting your happy butt out of the seat and looking behind you isn't you lacking skills, it is using your brain as a tool. Then came my training line that hit me right between the eyes, "a mechanic doesn't just use a screwdriver, he uses every tool available to him to get the job done right". I went out and bought another scale. Not a fancy thing that I hate like my last one that I had to type with my toes to get that damn thing to work but a simple one that I step on it, it gives me a number and I tell it to piss off. My doctor can still kiss my already saggy ass though. I still have no desire to have my number defined in the scrolls of time.
  19. The day is set. Monday is salmon slaying day! I'm doing great. I confirmed with my surgeon that I can rip the lips off of a salmon and pass the pole to my brother in law. I don't care if I get a bite, I'm going to have a great time. For those who fish, we have beautiful chromer Chinooks averaging 30 pounds in the Rogue right now!!!
  20. Glad to see that someone else had a good experience like I did! http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/376089-wasting-away-in-margaritaville
  21. I work for a nation wide oxygen and respiratory company. When I first started we were using battery operated oxygen conserving devices. You can't use petroleum products with oxygen because of the possibility of spontaneous combustion. I was behind one of our customers in Safeway and she quite clearly told the clerk that she needed these items so she could have "a great time at bingo tonight". She was buying C cell batteries and KY jelly (water based lube). The clerk looked horrified!
  22. Real food in small portions. Try one item at a time to see if you can tolerate it. After you find stuff that you can't tolerate, try that food again in a couple of weeks.
  23. I have to admit that I'm quite surprised. Everybody that has responded to my thread on the automotive website has been positive. One of the guys even mentioned that his wife had rny earlier this year. I feel that I've earned a certain level of respect on that site and I don't know if it would've been been the same for someone who wasn't as active as I am.
  24. I bought vitamin water and found a restaurant that had chicken noodle soup. I asked for just the broth and that I would gladly pay full price. No problem.
  25. Day 4 and already had to tighten my belt up a notch.
