  1. It doesn't matter if you break up your exercise time. The important thing to do is find a schedule that's going to work for you. Roberta
  2. Betty: I can't wait to join you in onederland! I honestly can not remember the last time I was "one something"....oh yes I can! It was after some MAJOR surgery and I had been deathly ill for several months. I went down to 170/165 from about 205. Funny, I forgot all about that . Interestingly I chose that number for my goal weight. Our subconscious mind is really something. Anyway, thanks for the encouragement! Roberta
  3. Wow, you don't check in for a while and people break their noses!!!:faint: Boo, what a freak accident:omg: ....glad your starting to feel better. Are you going to need surgery to fix it? Kat, your poem was a riot:biggrin1: Julie hope you get home safe. It is nice to visit, but there really isn't any place like HOME! Went to see Dreamgirls last night with a few girlfriends, it was very good. Jennifer Hudson has some voice! We are invited to some friends house tomorrow night. I hope I don't wake up with a migraine Monday like last week. Did 3 mile walk with DH. Roberta
  4. Went to Curves - 40 mins. six more pounds to lose and I'll be in onederland!!! Roberta
  5. Sorry to hear about your friends dad Kat, she must be so thankful to have you for support. That is what life is all about, good friends. Sounds like your family had a lot of fun Christmas day. I think the new year can't come fast enough, so we all can get back on track! Worked out today...went to a party on Sunday and woke up with a migraine. Haven't felt too great since then, but feeling a lot better today. Roberta
  6. I was 270 lbs on April 24, 2006....today I weigh 210 lbs
  7. My doctor never said....I told my nutritionist that 170 would be a reasonable goal, but she said I'd probably get down to 150. My main goal right now is to get to onederland! Roberta
  8. Hi everyone, for some strange reason I haven't been getting any notifications from Lapbandtalk. I figured everyone was away, but I decided to check in and was I surprised to see so many posts. Betty: what a tumble you took on those knees. I did that to myself three years in a row and ended up needing surgery on my right knee. So glad to hear that you didn't do any damage! I am extremely tight, and having trouble eating just about everything. I even have to be careful how fast I drink my fluids. I notice that I feel a little shaky at times, probably due to the reduced volume of food I'm intaking. All in all, I think this is just what I needed. A bit of a "wake-up call" for me. I think I was eating too much at one time, and not eating small enough bites. As to what happened with that previous fill....I don't know what to think. I had been anxious for a few days thinking that I'd wake up and that this fill would be gone too indicating a leak. So far everything seems fine. Thanks everyone for checking on me. Roberta
  9. Hi Julie, Just got back from my surgeons office. After my first fill, his PA has been the one doing my fills each visit, with a total of 2.50 cc in my band. Well, when my doctor checked the Band, guess how many cc's where in the band.......0...... I almost fell off the table. Now I was certain she had punctured my tubing. So my doctor filled me up with 2.50 cc and had me drink some water. I chugged down half the water and BAM! I had restriction!!!!!! I was never so glad to get that pain from drinking too fast!!! So....I'm back in the game and hoping I don't need a slight unfill. Thank you so much for your concern and your suggestion. Roberta
  10. I went to a new Curves location tonight, they had some different equipment and I got to use an Ab-lounger.I worked out on their machines for 20 mins. Boy did I feel it in my abs!! But that's not the best part......I did an hour of ........BELLY DANCING !!!!!! Of course tomorrow I won't be able to raise my arm to brush my teeth, or walk !!!! Wow, what a workout!! Roberta
  11. Julie, at the risk of getting a shoe thrown at me, I think there is one thing we can not forget....we didn't gain this weight in just a few weeks or months. We have to give our bodies time to adjust. That also includes some of those old habits that used to sabotage our efforts every time. You have done so incredibly well that I think you expect too much from yourself and your body. Mind you, I'm finding myself thinking the same way you are from time to time. I think we all just need time adjust to this new way of life and to enjoy the ride. I want to thank you for your suggestion, I am definitely going to ask the doctor to do the fill that way. Roberta
  12. Thanks Julie for your thoughts on my lack of restriction. I thought about a possible puncture of my tubing too. I'll report in Thursday afternoon and let you know what my surgeon thinks is the problem. Roberta
  13. CONGRATULATIONS: Dawn for your NSV and exceeding your goal, and to ever faithful Julie for completeing the December challenge....like we had any doubt that she would. Roberta
  14. BOO: Thank you for responding to my question. I am so frustrated about this and worried that maybe I have a dilated pouch...GGGGRRRRR. I hope your right, and I wake up tomorrow to restriction. This is a first for me, and very scary. Went to Curves this morning. 35 min. workout Roberta
  15. As I reported last week I went for a fill because I felt a bit of restriction but was getting very hungry. Thursday I had Soup all day because of the fill and ate light on Friday. Saturday morning I realized I had NO RESTRICTION!!!!!! I could eat a whole cow without a PB. I am eating anything that isn't nailed down! I have no idea what has gone wrong. Anybody have any ideas? I called the office and am going in for another fill this Thursday. Went to Curves this morning. Roberta
  16. Congratulations Julie on not only meeting your Christmas goal, but doing it ahead of schedule!!!! Nothing surprises me with you...you are just unbelievable! Roberta
  17. Wow Betty, sorry things got off to such a rocky start for your vacation. I am soooooo impressed that you got your workout in for today. Hope the weather improves enough for you to make your trip. Roberta
  18. Went to Curves this morning, 35 min workout. Kat, we'll pull each other along through this challenge. We WILL make it this month!!! Roberta
  19. Congratulations Amourette on your weight loss and on joining the dating scene. Roberta
  20. Hey Kat, I think that if you have any pre-Band pictures, you should wait to post until you enter onederland. I'm slowly getting back on track with my eating. The fill I'm getting tomorrow should slap me back to reality! So we were "sweating" together; even though we were miles apart.....something to think about :-) Make sure your buttoning up well when you leave there, don't want you to get worse. I've seen some infomercials on those trampolines, they look like fun. Let us know how that works for you. Roberta
  21. It's rainy here on Long Island, but off to Curves I went. I try not to go out when it's rainy because it causes my asthma to act up. I felt I needed the weight training at this point more than using the treadmill. So...35 min. workout completed this morning. Roberta
  22. Bluehill....can you hear the trumpets playing in your honor?:clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR MILESTONE!!! WE'VE ALL COME A LONG WAY. ROBERTA
  23. Julie we all know how you feel...it's good to let it out! Your dedication to your goal is inspirational as well as your current weight loss. I need to be where you are...maybe one day. I am trying to get there. Amourette you definitely have the lingo for the states. LOL Went to Curves this morning, 35 min. workout. Roberta
  24. Betty, I'm with Julie, you are a "looker" at any size! You look completely different with the cute cut. Love, love your fireplace. Wish I could make it to Seattle, but I know it won't work for me. I would love to meet you all! Susan glad to hear your daughter is doing better. Amourette you are a cutie with that mischievous smile! Bluehill I'm going for a fill this Thursday, I hate feeling hungry like this. I hope that MD is wrong...I know I'm not getting in enough calories. A lot of times I'm hungry but nothing seems to appeal to me and then I start to eat things that I shouldn't. Have any of you found that flying causes your Band to become more restricted? I noticed it on my last flight. It lasted the most of the time I was on the cruise, and again on the flight home. Kat I hope your doing bettter with that cough. Hit Curves this evening! 12 more to go!
