So I told my Mom which I kinda regret because of course I did get a bunch of grief from her. With that being said, as of right now the only 2 that know is my Hubby and Mom. I dont need the negativity at this time when I should excited about this and preparing myself. My family are pretty healthy and don't believe in wls because according to them its unecessary and all you need is a GF diet!!!! ugh....definitely not telling anyone at work, told the bosses I was having surgery, Point. Blank.

This is just an observation, it seems some threads turn into tension based on which posters are involved... Does anyone else notice a pattern?

At my first support group meeting, they had a woman who spoke about her experience with wine.
She had an addictive personality, hence the eating, and after drinking 1 glass of wine with dinner, she continued to do so
EVERY NIGHT until she became an alcoholic. When going to AA she found that 13 in her group were former WLS
patients. Coincidence??? I don't know but I'm not getting involved in another addiction after recovering from my food
addiction. I have fought too hard to get to where I am now in Pre Op.

My pre-op liquid diet starts June 21st. I wish that it hurry!

Love your hair. Did you braid it yourself? It looks perfect! Congrats on your journey. I'm only a month out. I go to follow up tomorrow and will know how much I dropped in pounds but I did this for my diabetes mainly even though I was almost 300 lbs at 5'5".

Im telling everyone Im having surgery to transition. And i am, from unhealthy to healthy. Its not my fault if they automatically think Caitlin Jenner. Im telling you, nothing shuts them up like that!

I hate cat boxes. I had a neighbor who had 8 cats and 2 cat boxes. She would have me pet sit when she vacationed and cleaning up was DISGUSTING. I shouldn't blame the cat, but that neighbor. And she paid me, not in cash, but in houseplants. What 10 year old wants a HOUSEPLANT!!??!!

H. Pylori, EKG, and Upper G.I. today! I'm nervous about the entire process! Next I'll have my surgery date!

I put them in a bowl of cold Water and peel them.

I lost over 100 pounds eating meat and veggies. And cheese. Oh my goodness, do I love cheese.< /p>

It is really simple as the following;

i told everyone, but that is just my personality. I respond to stress by oversharing and refusing to shut up about it! I have a two-week pre-op diet and my goal is to not make every conversation about Protein shakes! There is not any one way to respond, every person needs different things.
I'm lucky cause I work with a lot of nurses and they are mostly currious about the medical stuff whithout much judging. Sounds like your co-workers need a lesson boundries. Maybe find a good comeback for the jokes?

I don't usually comment on specific surgeons that operate in Mexico. I feel that it's my duty to share what I uncovered about Dr. Quinones, while looking for surgeons to partner with for BariatricPal TeamMX.
I did a lengthy investigation and found that he uses expired Staplers (see attached invoices) He also uses staples made in china and assembled in Tijuana!
Besides those two issues....
- He's had MANY twisted sleeves (+8 in 2 1/12 years that I'm aware of).
- He's left sponges in patients.
- Up to 4 patients and companions share 1 bathroom.
- He's had a patient or two post-op with a bad staph infection.
The list goes on.....I'd stay as far away from him as possible!

My Nut and Surgeon agree... High Protein, then veggies and fruit... minimal amount, if any, dairy and no processed carbs.
Lots of Water... 64oz minimum. 5 small meals a day and about 20 g of protein in each. Exercise, exercise, exercise... even if it's walking more or swimming or cycling. Just move! I'm 2 months in and 18 pounds down. I have 6 more weeks and need to lose more but i'm working on it.

Can I sneak in as a June 21st to the discussion?

I'm set up for 7/5/2016 nervous and excited!
