Sorry to hear about your weight loss story. I am having terrible times with my weight lost after surgery, also. The first week post op I lost 3lbs(doing nothing, just in pain), after that nothing. In order for me to lose weight, I MUST EXERCISE continuously everyday.

I'm over my hips hurting when I sleep and even walk. I'm over having difficulty breathing because I'm too fat! I'm over hating the way I look in clothes. I'm over not going places and seeing friends because I'm too ashamed of how I look. I'm over not being able to do the physical activities I want to do because I'm too heavy. I'm over about being worried about my future because of my health.

Its normal to be afraid of the unknown. You goal is healthy.
    I started at 254 I lost 119 pounds

I can't afford plastics. I have loose skin on my mid section, back, arms, butt, inner thighs and my boobs are deflated. It's all manageable with shape wear and a good bra.
This is where I'm at after 2 years. It was worth all the loose skin in the world.

    @@Ruby81,
I am glad you’re feeling good after surgery!
It’s true that some patients choose not to eat starchy foods post-op, either because of their own beliefs or because of their surgeon’s or nutritionist’s recommendations. However, there’s no reason why starches, including healthy ones like high-Fiber, high-potassium potatoes, can’t be included in your post-op plan.
Just make sure you can tolerate the starches you choose, and that you can keep portions in check so you don’t go over your calorie limits. It sounds like you’re doing both of those. Also be sure you’re following your doctor’s recommendations – sometimes they don’t seem necessary, but there’s a good chance they’re there for a reason. If you want to know why, ask. Sometimes what feels good now can lead to complications later - you just want to be sure.
The pureed foods (mushies) diet lists usually include watery mashed potatoes, so I see no reason to avoid them if you think you can handle them. I would be super careful to cook the potato very well and would probably puree it and Water it down instead of having a whole piece. Also, just be sure your sleeve is ready for pureed foods – many patients wait 2 to 4 weeks after surgery before adding pureed foods to their liquids.
    Good luck as you progress!

I think you have to examine all the reasons you went down that road in the first place....... what was going on within yourself and at home that made you feel like you needed this other thing?
also, secondly - you have to decide what *your own* values are, what kind of a woman you want to be and what you want your own future to look like.
my husband and I recovered from a bout of infidelity oh, about 12 years ago? because we both addressed the reasons within him and within our marriage why he strayed - set new boundaries on interactions with those of the opposite gender and decided what we *really* wanted out of life was to be together, to raise our children together and to be together for our grandchildren to come. That was how we saw our lives and values and we have never regretted doing the hard work to fix things. If you two decide that is what you want, you can do the same.

Of course that's a jest. But I didn't think I would have to go nuts with cardio, or feel (and ignore) hunger pangs, in order to lose. I thought it would be easier and more successful than other diets I'd tried.

I had surgery dec 2012, i gained almost 40 pounds back from not eating right and not excercising. The good thing is though, its a tool, if you use your tool, you can lose. I am happy to say that i have lost that weight and continuing on a downward spiral...thank goodness.

I have known someone that developed an alcohol addiction after weight loss surgery. He spoke about no longer being able use food to numb his pain and turned to alcohol to numb his pain. Since he was familiar with how Overeaters Anonymous works he quickly got into Alcoholics Anonymous and was successful.
I would seek experienced help if I couldn't change myself.
    This is serious. Best wishes!
