KathyawesomeSmith reacted to AmandaWho in Shakes to shake things up?
Has anyone gone back to shakes after several months just break a stall or get your weight loss moving again? Maybe for a week or so? Obviously I know I should talk to my doctor first, but I curious if anyone has done this and how did it work out for you?

KathyawesomeSmith reacted to Darla15 in Revision to rny
Has anyone had a revision from sleeve to rny? How long was the procedure? How has the process been so far? I didn't see a board for this, just from band to rny. TIA!

KathyawesomeSmith reacted to Journey4myhealth in A1C before surgery...
My wife's A1C was 8-something 3 months ago before they upped her meds a bit. She is scared that they won't perform her surgery in 3 weeks if her blood tests show a high A1c. Anyone have experience with this?

KathyawesomeSmith reacted to ShelterDog64 in How does everyone deal with the social pressure to eat while eating out?
Damn...I waited tables for years and never got peeved because someone ordered soup and salad vs a full meal. I should have been mad at the elderly, kids and non-drinkers, too, eh? And not ordering apps AND dessert?? How rude, while filling all those seats intended for $40 meals. The nerve of them. Maybe restaurants should have a dollar limit that you have to reach or you get charged that much anyway.
I think I'll keep ordering my soup and a glass of wine, tipping 50% and ignoring the fact that opinions like yours exist.

KathyawesomeSmith reacted to Inner Surfer Girl in Halloween fever
I don't plan to. But if I do it will be a small piece.
Since I can actually buy clothes off the rack now, I bought a Halloween sweater this year. I have been wearing it all month to get my money's worth since hopefully it will be too big next year!

KathyawesomeSmith got a reaction from Hiraeth in Trouble Swallowing
Try eating slowly. I have the same feeling a lot still and I am 3 months post op and thought I was overeating. I asked my surgeon about the stuck feeling and he said it is a spasm from eating too fast. I hope this helps

KathyawesomeSmith got a reaction from connie6140 in Scared to Death
I want you to relax and don't worry about the surgery. I was literally scared out of my wit's, I was terrified!!! I was worried I wouldn't be here for my one and only daughter, but as you can see it as for not... The surgery is a piece of cake, a walk in the park and same for the shots. This will be the best decision you have ever made. I had no pain except for my big b_tt from laying on the op table.
Don't worry be happy!

KathyawesomeSmith got a reaction from ehedary in Cheating on preop
I wouldn't worry. The surgeon I had doesn't require a pre-op diet and he has a perfect track record. Do let them know though. Everything will be fine Sent from my Nexus 7 using the BariatricPal App

KathyawesomeSmith reacted to goodnuff in Stalled for months
Similar to what I posted yesterday and as I ponder the questions @@Inner Surfer Girl posed I wonder how many of us struggle with those things, after all if I could have done even a handful of them routinely before surgery I wouldn't have needed it. However, I did commit to all of them beforehand, knowing that was what I needed to do to be successful and this was a great reminder of that commitment.

KathyawesomeSmith got a reaction from randocomando in Prickly Feeling?
I had the same prickly feeling and a burning sensation where my incision sites are, I think it is a sign your body is healing. You're not alone!

KathyawesomeSmith reacted to randocomando in Prickly Feeling?
Has anyone ever had a slight prickly feeling in their stomach. I'm about 10 days post op. About 2-3 inches below where your ribs meet? It's happened a few times, doesn't hurt, but is a weird feeling. Thanks.
