I was sleeved 10/26.....I am down 48 lbs as of today! I was in a stall for a couple weeks, floating between 221-224 for days. Then , the dropping started again. I need to lose just 6 more lbs to go from Obese BMI to Overweight BMI.
Then, 33 more lbs off, and I will be "Normal BMI". I am so glad I did this! I get fully pretty quick, if I eat a couple bites too much, it is an uncomfortable, achy heaviness....which reminds me why I should quit eating before getting to that point.

I need to increase water/fluids, but since I cannot chug Water, or drink after eating, I am finding fluids to be a challenge. I do try to sip all day.

I feel like I am finally losing, lost 5 pounds this week. I'm down 30 pounds since surgery on 10/20, Definitely have restriction with solid food. My mind still thinks I can eat a whole plate full. I find myself eating too fast at first and then when I'm full, wishing I could eat more as now I'm ready to savor it. Trying to keep the willpower strong but have had a few bad days with work treats. No one at my office knows so I try to keep the appearance of eating normal. I usually can pass things up or take something and then toss it once I'm at my desk, but poor planning got the best of me and I went into a meeting without eating first. Bad idea!! Started up a weight training program this week and excited to get that going. Almost all of my pants are too big but hesitant to buy new ones yet.
Thanks for keeping this thread going. I love seeing everyone's success and updates. I don't post much but I/m working on it!!

    Impressive weight loss, @Rose400491 ...
I am stunned hat you can do gym on just 250-300 calories.
I do 90+ minutes swimming and 25-35 minutes of other exercise and I am consuming 1300-1550 calories daily.
Your 34 pounds well outdoes my 8.3kg [18 pounds] since my gastric sleeve five-and-a-half weeks ago.
Maybe you need to speak to a dietitian/nutritionist and/or an exercise physiologist rather than asking us well-meaning amateurs.

I force myself to go. I'm 2 months post-op and just started going back 2 weeks ago. I'm easing into my routine and just sticking with cardio machines. I will eventually get back to running up 150 flights of stairs while carrying 15 pound dumbells but until i get there again I'm going to pout and dread it. Your right on feeling better after working out, I do feel better and so happy my ass is outta there too!

Hi, thank you all for your advice and support!

Things dipped really low for me over the weekend. Yesterday I didn’t eat anything except a fudge pop and two tastes of some yogurt and I only choked that down because my friend was concerned and insisted I eat something.

I meet with my doctor tomorrow, but today is technically my two week post op mark. So I went to the grocery store and grabbed some soft foods per my manual.

I just had 4oz of cottage cheese and it was AMAZING. I pretty much snarfed it down and had to remind myself to slow down or I’d regret things.

I think my issue is with sweet things? The cottage cheese was a pretty flat flavor and perfect. Anything remotely sweet is just making me gag. I’m not entirely sure on that though because I hated broth and creamed Soup too...

Anyway, thank you again. I’m just super excited that cottage cheese seems like a winner for now.

I’m one week post op and smells don’t bother me, taste hasn’t bothered me but I’m trying to determine what will be good for me moving forward, I’ve watched tons of YouTube videos and read my manual front to back but I kinda feel like my stomach is strong enough to handle some things just in super small portions.

as everyone else has said yes, the taste the first two weeks just is awful. But Water is your number one priority. (I tried propel water and it helped a lot first two weeks for me) Reason for readmission is being dehydrated. (soft hug) I'm day 44 out from surgery and it is getting better albeit slowly. Be patient with yourself and the process (again easier said than done) go for short five or ten minute slow as heck walks find things you love to do sensory wise that will get your mind off of it. I took up knitting 2 years ago and am glad I did. Also, I highly recommend face to face flesh and blood support from those going through what you are.

I’m really struggling with things right now. I’ll be two weeks post op on Monday. I have my appt on Tuesday.
Everything tastes so bad. It makes me sick. Like, actually eating is fine. My stomach doesn’t get upset, it doesn’t hurt, nothing like that. But it tastes so bad that I don’t want to eat anything. Is mental nausea a thing? I don’t get sick sick, but I’m still very repulsed by it. I’ve tried soooo many things and it all tastes awful. Various soups/broths, yogurt flavors, Protein Shakes, flavored water w/unflavored Protein, pudding, jello... I force myself to drink one Protein Drink and a greek yogurt cup every day. Although, that’s even a struggle. So I’m averaging roughly 200 calories a day. And again, physically I absolutely think/know I could eat more but the tastes are just so bad.
I was really, really sensitive to smells before hand so I don’t know if that has something to do with it? So, I haven’t found anything I remotely like... my friends all talk about their pizza and burritos and I really miss it especially not being able to find at least one thing I sort of like to eat right now. But even then I don’t think I’d like the taste of that stuff. I put cream cheese on a bagel for my daughter and licked a tiny bit off the knife and about gagged. And I freaking LOVED cream cheese before.
I do take my Vitamins twice a day. I mean, to be honest my chewable vitamins are the least offensive thing I eat each day... they taste like flintstone ones.
Idk, I guess I’m just feeling down or frustrated. I hate all the food, wish I could just find something I like, and of course I just miss being able to eat normally.

Yes, I need to start working out. I need to strengthen my core. So, I have to start doing exercises at home. I know how to exercise, I just preferred to do it at the gym. It doesn't make sense for me to join the gym again when there's so many of the machines I can't use.
My back surgery caused me to lose my appetite for a long time so I did lose my regain and that's a really good thing!

My op is not for 2 months, but I want to start setting up a practical joke on everyone I know.
If you have any ideas, please post them.
My main Target is my ultrafitness-centered brother who measures his bmi and fat content to at least 0.1%, and my fitness oriented brother and my personal trainer sister in law.
Only people that know about my surgery are my parents. And they will be in on the joke.
My mother will call my brothers with great concern about my weight loss and obsession with medicine balls. She will be concern that I have been unhealthy, possibly bolemia, and suffering from OCD and my medicine ball use is worse than the local teenagers and their skateboard ramps.
They'll come and visit me, and I'll always have a medicine ball, and just play it up. They also see me with a medicine ball when I visit them for Christmas. Anything to perplex them over weight loss. Brother is a graphic design artist, and I might ask him to design a book cover for a self published book "Medicine Ball Miracle". And just see how far I can go with them and everyone else.

I do drink room temp water the cold hurts my teeth. So now I’m day 5 and I’m still having trouble getting water and Protein Shakes down. I just woke up and tried to drink a bit of water and it made so much pressure in my chest.

Is your Water cold or even cool? Try drinking luke warm water if you haven't already. I was told cold liquids can cause stomach cramps. Maybe you're getting stomach cramps with any liquids. In that case, I'd ask your doc about Levsin. It's a med to prevent the cramps, put under your tongue. My stomach cramps feel like gas, chest pressure and pain. Levsin has been a lifesaver for me.

It sounds totally normal. I am 9 days out and the first few days you're only supposed to sip Water. Approximately two tablespoons every 15 minutes, so just keep at it I had the bottle of water beside me 24/7 constantly sipping sipping away. And it slowly gets easier and you can drink more at what over the next five days or so

Sorry to hear this! I had a similar issue so I can relate. Unfortunately I don't have much unique advice to fix it. My issue progressed until I was readmitted to the hospital. If it lasts more than 4 days or if it keeps you from getting your Water down, call the dr immediately. Dehydration is not worth it.

For me they ended up dialating my esophagus and that fixed the issue. Hopefully for you it is just swelling. Keep sipping the water, walk, take hot showers etc. it's probably just gas but water is critical right now!

I hope you feel better soon! This will pass!
