  1. Often the support we need is limited, I am six-plus months out and am almost out of the 200's but have been finding my 'inner critic' being loud. Enough with that, I am here to say those of you taking the steps for wellness however far you are in it I am proud of you, I don't know your story or struggle but I say 'keep going' the best way to beat depression, is to help others. The surgery is a kick start in a good direction, we still often kick ourselves instead of being kind and finding new ways of calming ourselves. Surgery isn't the easy way out, heck losing weight, in general, is difficult and the surgery won't mean a damn if we don't stick to it. Huge investment in ourselves and we've come too far to backslide. I've been thinking days now about posting this but was not sure how. I have high functioning autism, am a female 34 years of age and feel this year is my 'coming of age' year. It's been long coming and I've been healed of cutting myself for five years now and walking out daily life new job etc. Now the outside is just matching what was on the inside. Be yourself, be OK with your 'other' and stay the healthy course get back up even when you fall because plenty are in the same boat. Keep going You're stronger then you know.
  2. I recommend the squatty potty stool on Amazon. It's saved me much head and heartache I so feel you on staying on the pot for too long...It blows
  3. awesome job! I'm proud of you
  4. Hello, fellow Oct. 2017 slevers! I am down 53.1 pounds from October's 261 now a svelt 207! I like the slower loss, it's a good pace a 'just right' pace if that makes sense. I am doing better headspace-wise, thank god (I don't wish a depression relapse on anyone) My mood is stable and I'm not irritable 'happy Hannah' slowly but surely returns...I can breath better, do more push-ups, sit-ups, ex-ups, wall-sits, squats, burppies etc, per set and not feel exhausted after a workout. I'll update more as I progress.
  5. so then why the hell do they sell the patches if they do not work? Placebo much...
  6. Started out at 261 currently I am 207 and I'm 5'8" my goal is 170'ish (I had overexercising problems as a teen and borderline anorexia so I'm shooting for the higher end of healthy)
  7. (e hug to op) If we could sit and have tea or coffee I so would, take things one day at a time, hell for me it's been some days one hour at a time...I'm month 6 and have lost about 53 pounds if you need encouragement or to talk pm me please I'd love to listen...for me the hardest thing has been depression post-op, the malabsoring of my antidepressant and tweaking of it was hell I wish on no one...I didn't know how much food was a part of my coping until after the fact...I am glad that I waited two years beforehand to truly decide and you are stronger then you know...I hope these words have been of some help because my heart is behind them...
  8. my heart goes out to all of you... low-fat cheese sticks have been a godsend for me, protein and water, fiber too
  9. Feeling a bit better, some days are up other days are not so up...pic in the middle is the most recent, got a hair trim...I suppose it has something to do with being an autie I feel and experience deeply...Did an old tae bo DVD and don't regret it...I try to keep my options open and my head up...it's a struggle but I'm trying
  10. great inspiration! Went to the gym yesterday and so didn't feel like it. I was on the spin bike for 25 minutes and then I did calenstantic exercises for 10 minutes. Stretched for 10 after all of it. It's was rainy and cold yesterday today it's nice outside but still cold. For today's workout, I cleaned the bathrooms, worked up quite a sweat making them shine! Plus it's satisfying to shower in a clean one afterward.
  11. Oh, it's legit very clean place, and it's not sold per say you are compensated for your donation. And yes they do have suggestions for staying on top of things ie. first-time doner checklist, keeping healthy for the best donations, return doner checklist. You need two forms of ID and proof of your current residence in the past 30 days. There is a bible long list as to who cannot donate people with tattoos etc. anywho yes thanks for the response.
  12. Well, most frown upon donating plasma (my family) but the process is nothing like what I thought it'd be. The center I went to which is near where I live was very much the opposite of what I thought it'd be. I had the initial interview questions etc. it's a 2-hour process and not everyone is willing to wait what have you. The following visits are easy and take an hour. At any rate, I was told that because of the sleeve surgery that I'd be able to donate on November 1, 2018, on the dot. So, that is what I intend to do. It's easy money, and it helps those that need meds from the plasma. 20 for the first visit, 40 for the second, and 60 for the 3rd and so on.
  13. I use bio oil for both surgery scars and also old self-injury scars, it has worked wonders. Highly recommend it.
  14. I tried to kill myself more than once, in my teens and 20's and struggled with self-harm, as well as binge eating disorder. It's only been recently that I realized how deep the roots of trauma socially were (I have High Functioning Autism) I was diagnosed when I was 19 years of age. I just have come out of a fog of depression and medication adjustment wasn't absorbing fully because it was time released. Now all the spokes on the medication wheel are turning just fine. Perhaps it was my grieving over the years that I didn't allow myself to cry but instead bled the tears? Or ate my pain away? I am glad you are in therapy (as am I) talk therapy works wonders. (soft hug)
  15. (soft hug) I just have gotten out of it, thank God I've adjusted to my new meds...this has been harder then physically recovering from the surgery
  16. good job backtofit The first three are from the past year, the last three are this evening.

(makes baby noises) oh, my heart...my dog passed in the summer of 2016 and since then every time I walk outside or go by a yard with any dog big or small I walk up and baby talk said dog...hoping to get another one soon...count your blessings for having your fur friends, appreciate them, love on them because they will pass away...
  18. I was 261 on October 31st, 2017 and today March 3, 2018, I am 212 pounds! My antidepressants are being adjusted and that aspect has been hellish. Crying myself to sleep some nights, now I'm coming out hopefully. I workout as I can somedays it is hard to get my butt out of bed. I get in gym time 3 days a week of about an hour, learning to give myself grace while at the same time holding myself accountable. I sleep so much better without that 50 pounds on my chest and body, more then just looks (I do look better) is I'm able to move more quickly as I workout, and I'm not yawning after I leave the gym like I used to. So it's worth the mental battle as my body is like a leveler bubble all over the place right now, it'll find the center soon enough. Pray for me regarding my ongoing depression please for those that do pray. Thanks.
  19. Yes, there is... https://livestream.com/zionsake/events/8031340/videos/169695117 seek forward to the 1:20 mark and you will get the message.
  20. The following pictures are from the past two years when I started my WLS journey. In the first picture in the summer of 2016, that clinic closed but I had all this preoperation experience in my toolbox. The other two pictures are me as I took up kickboxing for 10 months prior to surgery. In October I was scheduled on the 31st in 2017. I've almost down 50 pounds so very close. The last three are of the past couple days this March 2018.
  21. I took phentermine a while back and it leads to a psychotic break. It's a dirty comedown from the recommended dose and personally for myself made me crave more food and put on pounds while taking it. I might be unique, I might not be, but I have a history of past upper abuse in my 20's and all I found any diet pills did for me was give me energy to eat and workout more. Counterproductive. They are a temporary fix at best and I don't recommend them as an overall tool but you need to decide yousrself. Talk with your pharmacist and doctor and ask for more medically qualified advice.
  22. went to an hour-long spin class and man am I feeling it in my butt...felt like death when I got home had a huge poop, showered and laid down to take 40
