Scar Treatments

Any recommendations for ointments or treatments that will help reduce scaring? I’ve tried ScarAway gel strips but it’s leaving a dark ring. 4 wks post op, incisions feel hard and there’s a dent with the main one. Also, how long before they really start to fade?

And yes, I agree that scars are better than being overweight. I just know that if you treat them early it will have the most impact. Thanks for any help!

This is the upside to having a hairy belly: Hides the surgery scars.

I’m currently trying Mederma. Not too crazy about it, doesn’t seem to be doing much. Before that I tried Dermatix. A bit on the pricey side but I feel it worked slowly. Will be switching back to that

  • I use bio oil for both surgery scars and also old self-injury scars, it has worked wonders. Highly recommend it.

My dent went away.

Have you tried Mederma?

I have been using this silicon gel. I'm not sure if it's made a difference and it's pricey. ttps://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B003TBYW74/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s02?ie=UTF8&th=1

I just ordered this silicone tape. I'm hopeful that each applicaion will last a couple of days and it'll work out to be more affordable. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B002VE9AL8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Awesome! Thanks! And no, haven’t tried Mederma. Did that work for you? I’m also curious how long it takes for scars to fade to their permanent state.
