  1. Thanks, all! I will let you know how it goes!
  2. i used to love their slushes...can't have the calories/sugar anymore, but maybe once in a blue moon. their ice cream is average at best and i never had their food, but their grape slush - oh yeah!
  3. i think if i had had this done at 25 or so i would be dealing with the same thing. now that i am older, have had health complications and missed out on so many things in life (including pregnancy), i look at the results so different, like it is almost another chance at life. for all of you who are so young, i am so happy for you, that you will have this chance at a normal, healthy life. we can all do this!!!
  4. Thanks, everyone! Another Q? Anyone know what the best way to try them is? I was thinking of making like an egg salad with almost no chunks. almost like a paste. I am sooooo hungry. Thanks!!!
  5. Hi all! getting excited about my soft food stage coming up (not soon enough) and I see some people who eat eggs all the time and others who say they can't eat them. Why not? They seem so soft and versatile and an excellent protein option so I am confused. Can you weigh in? Thanks in advance!!!
  6. my doctor is one of the strictest i have come across with length on liquids, etc. but he let us have coffee w/caffeine right away. go figure! i don't get all these conflicting rules, but i hope you find a solution...i feel your pain!
  7. i'm probably no help, but i know how you feel. i just feel out of sorts since the surgery, like i don't know what to do with myself. i have read that this is a common reaction to the hormonal fluctations post-banding, but i don't really get why. i feel for you, tho!
  8. i am so impressed by you and so happy you have had success despite all your challenges. you inspire me!
  9. Soounds like jealousy to me!
  10. still on full liquids but i think when i CAN eat out i will probably just order something regular and take some home. i love leftovers!
  11. i was 45, but my dad was 67 and over 300 lbs.
  12. you know what struck me the most? how lucky she is that she can't relate...that she can't imagine why you just can't stop eating when you want to. i think a lot of people are like that, and frankly, i envy them. but lots of us understand, especially here...and we support you!
  13. wow, jack - how true! thanks for that!
  14. i am right there with you -- banded on may 23 and want to eat, but will not cave. i am determined to beat this addiction. i wish you luck.
  15. linda, i was banded less than a week ago, so i have no advice, but definitely know i will struggle with the same issues and i send you hugs and support!
  16. i think you are risking long-term complications with your band. i think you should stop. but i know how hard it is, and tho i haven't cheated yet, it is tempting. it can really hurt you tho. don't do it.
  17. thank you all so much for your advice! i definitely plan to try the spaghetti squash, and my first mushie meal will be ricotta cheese, ground beef and spaghettie sauce. only 3 more weeks!
  18. i wish i could help, but i am in the same boat. i have tried gas x strips and pills, rolaids multisymptom, nothing works so far. i feel for you, though!!!
  19. jomarie - i think you should go with your gut. i had a bad feeling about my first consult, and procrastinated for over a year after that because i didn't want to start over again. be proud of yourself for taking care of yourself and find a doc you are comfortable with. where are you located? maybe you could post in your state's section and get some feedback. i wish you the very best!
  20. i am so sorry. i hope they can fix it.
  21. hi...i can't speak to u of m, but i highly recommend port huron lap band center. i was just banded 5/23, and they are amazing. good luck with your decision and let me know if you have Qs.
  22. thanks, princesstracey! i don't want to eat a lot of it, just a little once in a while, especially since i make great meatballs and sauce! what are some of the Proteins you add? any ideas are much appreciated!
  23. hi teddy...i wish i could help you, but i was only banded on friday, so all i can say is i know what it is like to be uncomfortable and i really feel for you. i am sure someone else will be along with advice...just know i care.
  24. Thanks, thenume! Think it is too late for me to switch to your surgeon???
  25. Thanks, Can Hardly Wait! I think when I get to full liquids I will do better. I don't even feel hungry, just in the mood to eat, KWIM?
