I am feeling sooooo much better. Going home today , no more nausea, no more dizziness and pain is very minimal. Tolerating Clear liquids well. Gas pain is gone. Still feel weak but getting better. On the mend.

Of course it gets better. Do you think more than 10 people would have had this surgery if the result was nausea, dizziness, pain, and dry heaving for the rest of their lives? Have you had major surgery before? Seen anyone that's had major surgery before? How many are up bouncing around, feeling great within 24 hours of having the majority of an internal organ removed? Of course you feel like s***t. And like s***t, this too shall pass.

Why are people relying on those providers that know nothing about what complications a Bariatric patient may be experiencing??
I don't get it- the only time I had a "problem" the first and only person I contacted was my surgeon- and was seen immediately by him after speaking with him in the phone.
The ONLY person anyone post op- especially this soon after surgery - any of us need to speak with is our SURGEON. They are the experts. Mine does his own EGD's. Emergency departments are there to facilitate emergencies and if it is a Bariatric surgery emergency they should be contacting your surgeon ONLY.
Second guessing anything post op does nothing but delay necessary treatment, or possibly allaying your worries.
Go to your surgeon ladies and gents. That's what you paid them for and if it isn't Bariatric related they will get you to who you need to see.

My friend that had her surgery almost exactly a year ahead of me warned me about the week 3 stall. She says to just keep going and do what you're supposed to do and it'll start coming off again.

I am 6 months post surgery today and I have already reached so many of my "goals". I can cross my legs. I can shop in the regular size section. I ran a 5K about a month ago and have another one in early June. I am off all my weight related meds. I fit comfortably in an airline seat without a belt extender. I found my cheek bones and collar bones. Still working on the hip bones!
I am not telling you all this to brag, but so you know that it is coming! You will get there.
Still on my list, single digit clothing sizes. (currently a 16 edging towards a 14.) Getting into ONEDERLAND!!! Running/doing a marathon in under 6 hours (scheduled for October 9th). Doing a mini triathlon in under an hour (scheduled for August 14th). Being able to build a decent, small size wardrobe once I hit goal (not goodwill and second hand clothes that only fit for a month or so). Getting to a point where people don't remember the fat me.
You can all do it! We all can.

I'ts surreal. i think on some level i never thought i would get this far. Not that i expected to fail at the diet, on not get approved, but I'm one of those expect the worse type people. Needless to say its been an interesting ride. Sleeved 6/1, and amazingly feeling like super man (with meds of course). I left the hospital the next day, i could not sleep or get comfortable and wanted to be in my own space. Good decision thus far, im hiding from the scale so i will be surprised when i go get my staples out on 6/10 (hoping for onderland). so nothing to report just a happy sleever.

Does she consider it cheating when she uses tools like navigation apps instead of a map, a calculator instead of doing the math herself, a microwave instead of an oven or fire, a car instead of walking to and from her destination, an electric washing machine instead of a bucket and a laundry board, etc, etc, etc,? Utilizing an efficient tool designed for improved and more time-efficient results is the logical course of action in the majority of circumstances. If simply counting your calories and exercising more was the most effective way to treat obesity, there wouldn't be a single insurance company willing to provide coverage for expensive weight loss surgery. They view it as a tool that often leads to better, more lasting results than other methods.
As with every other tool, it only works if you use it properly. If you had eaten milkshakes and cupcakes on a daily basis following your surgery, you wouldn't have been so successful at your weight loss. You didn't cheat at anything.

If you are a meal skipper, have you thought about replacing that one meal with a Protein shake? My nutritionist recommended doing that from the beginning. For me, I used one for my Breakfast, but for you, perhaps that could be lunch instead.
On the other hand, for lunch, I typically take leftovers from dinner the night before. My husband and I purposely cook some extra dinner so that I can pack my lunch when putting away dinner. It's easy and doesn't require a ton of thought!
Hope these ideas help! Good luck!

Me too...I'm on day 7. The first 5 days were horrible, but yesterday I seemed to have turned a corner. Thank goodness because I am one of those people that gets "hangry" and for those first 5 days, I wanted to kill everyone and everything in my path! LOL!
However, I will say that warm liquids are your friend and will help you to feel the most satisfied. Try to stick with those! Hang in there! You CAN do this!!!

My nutritionist suggested setting a timer on my phone and like every 10 minutes when it goes off, take a small sip of Water (or your Protein shake). She recommended about only drinking a half ounce at a time. Perhaps get a medicine spoon and measure 15mL and try to drink that every 10-15 minutes. Hope that helps and you get some relief!
Also, consider taking a little more time off, if possible. It sounds like you're not ready and risk making your condition much worse.

Welcome! Like the other post said, we can be your support!!
Also, don't be afraid to continue to talk with a counselor or psychiatrist during your journey. There is no shame in that and they can help with healthy strategies for dealing with the psychological ramifications that can go along with this journey.

I feel your pain. I'm on day 6 of 14 day Clear Liquids and Protein shakes only. Luckily, I haven't had the headaches, but have been miserably hungry. Today is the first day that I've felt semi-human.
Anyway, I forget who asked, but the reason for the Clear Liquids is because it helps to rapidly shrink the fat around your liver and make it safer during surgery when they have to move your liver out of the way during surgery.
