  1. I am currently on soft foods I was allowed fruits and vegetables skinless and pureed if possible. I was told that if fruits and veggies would help me get my Protein in I could have them. So about twice a week I do add a veggie in my meal or snack on a fruit of course I make sure i'm getting my 60g of protein and 64oz liquids daily. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  2. Gas pains! Wow! those felt like labor pains! And according to the nurse gas pains after this surgery are like the last pains of being in labor. I walked alot! A LOT! If I tried laying down the pain would get A LOT worse. I remember crying from the deep stabbing gas pains. I used to do this (this might help) not laying down sit on a chair instead ( a chair was better to me than my bed) and at times stand up for a bit. Move around as much as you can. 3. My doctor said no straws either because it brings air into your pouch and leaves no space for fluids. Having air in the pouch must feel uncomfortable too! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  4. I can't have plain Water either. It tastes disgusting to my mouth. I add crystal light liquid to give it flavor and be able to drink my 64 oz daily Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  5. I'm 4 weeks 2 days and only able to get in 600 calories from 2-3 meals and 1 Protein shake. Yes I meet my protein and Fluid intake. At the end of the day when I look at my daily food chart I add up the calories which usually are 500-600 and don't really care. Then I add up the protein and fluid 60-65g protein 64-70oz fluid and get really happy another great day of success healthy eating. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  6. I am 4 weeks 2 days post up. I do get dumping, but when the food is either to sugary or too greasy. Sometimes I feel like eating more of the food although I feel fool, but even if I already have that last bite inside my mouth I spit it out because it just won't go down. If I over eat I will start to trow up. I love all this because I remember that all this can happen if I don't follow the instructions so I avoid eating what i'm not suppose to and over eating. As far as frequently eating and drinking fluids, I have 2-3 meals and a Protein shake at the end of the day with that I complete almost 600 calories a day. Fluids I usually fill up a 8oz cup and sip sip sip until its gone. This I do 8-9 times a day 30-60 minutes before or after meals. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  10. Hi everyone! I am posting my first before and after pics. The after pix is my most recently taken today! In order here are the pics since I started my supervised diet to get approved by insurance up to my pre op diet: And this is me 4 weeks post up down 17lbs on the scale, but a lot more on the measuring tape "from the view" Iv'e noticed my change and so has everyone. Can't wait to see myself a few months from now! My self esteem WOW! It's getting better just like the self esteem of that 17 year old I once was. Regardless of my husband/baby daddy making bad hurting comments of my 4 year old baby pregnancy's stretch marks on my belly (like " how ugly they look and why I have them so ugly" like seriously he really needed a better explanation than having his child in my belly for 9 months) I feel great and won't let his destroying behavior destroy me from becoming a healthier better me. Him hurting me will soon end and World here I come!!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. Congrats! I am 4 weeks tomorrow Wednesday. Today I went to a family BBQ of course i took my meal and I looked amazing. Everyone kept commenting on how nice and skinnier I looked. 15. I had surgery 4/13 Was sent home on stage 3. For the first 2 weeks until my post up apt I had clear liquids, Protein shakes and yogurt. Week 3 until my next nut apt in about 3 weeks i'm on stage 4 soft foods. Cottage cheese, fish, salmon, tuna in Water ect. I have been on stage 4 for almost 2 weeks now. I'm trying to make different types of food. YES! I have had to trow away lots of food either because I didn't like the taste or because I like it the first time but not anymore. My tastes have changed a lot after surgery and it does happen to many people. I remember when I was told I had to get used to wasting food as it would be no option after surgery Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  16. The day before surgery I decided to take a pregnancy test due to the reason that it had beed 9 days past the day I was suppose to have gotten my period. To my surprise it was a faint positive and after a complete 5 minutes it was clearly a + I was scared, angry and everything because I had waited so long to have the surgery and at the end a positive pregnancy test was about to stop me. I decided I would go in and not mention anything as in the hospital they would obviously do a pregnancy test. I do admit Since all I was able to drink after midnight was the special gatorade drink and Water, I did have a lot of water to ease the hunger up until 2 hours before I went to the hospital. To my surprise the urine pregnancy test was Negative at the hospital. That was such a relieve for me. I got my surgery and 2 days after surgery while at the hospital I got my heavy period. 17. How long will a plateau/stall last? For the past almost 3 weeks I've been plus 1-3 lbs minus 1-3 lbs plus 1-3lbs ect.... What is my body doing with all this plus and minus plus and minus. I do admit I see a difference when I look in the mirror and I do feel healthier, but I want to see changes on the scale too. I have only lost 17 lbs since surgery 4/13 I am 3 days away from being 4 weeks post up. Will My body start to loose again soon. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  18. My best feeling is that finally I can eat only a small amount of food and not overstock my stomach. If I do that now I know i'll get sick. The best feeling ever eating just a small amount and feeling like I ate 2 plates of food at a buffet Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  19. My dietician recommended buying from
  20. Thats what was happening to me I was at my lowest 217 then 218 then 219 Then again 218 or 219 And a week later the same thing was happening, but like I said before I do see a difference when I see myself in the mirror Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  21. What I have noticed during this last 1 1/2 week is that although i'm going through a stall, my body has gotten smaller. I feel it and i've noticed it when I look in the mirror. I read on another post that your body might not be loosing weigh during a stall, but it is shrinking during that time. I also read that it's a good idea to use a measuring tape during this time instead of the scale. It does make sense that ones body needs time to shrink; however i'm 22 days now and i've only lost 17 pounds. Yes I did loose it in the first 1 1/2 week, but I hope my body surprises me after this stall Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  22. I'm now 3 weeks post up and i've been stuck since 1 1/2 week post up hope this ends soon and I start loosing again Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  23. I tried my best to go for walks at the park a few days after getting home on 4/15 surgery date was 4/13. I could say I was walking 30 minutes 4 times a weeks. After my post up 2 week follow up I was approved to start doing exercise such as walking on a treadmill and elliptical. However, I've felt really lazy and tired a lot more than the first few days after surgery so haven't really done much exercise. At my last appt I was told I was slightly anemic. I'm worried that maybe i'm more anemic as I am having symptoms like pale skin, dizziness, and am so tired! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  24. My job is standing up,constantly walking around and lifting so my surgeon asked me to take 4-6 weeks off. He said if possible to take off the 6 weeks to do so. I did I am only 2 1/2 weeks out and starting to miss my job, but I know standing up all day and constantly walking/lifting will get me very tired and not good for my surgery ( gastric by pass) Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  25. I am 2 1/2 weeks post up and am starting to see a difference in my hair too!! It's falling out a lot more and tangles more easily Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
