mnopali got a reaction from LipstickLady in Is your surgery a secret?
My husband, mom, and brother know. I've also told work because my boss had RNY and I asked her all about it. She lead me in the right direction. I just don't want people looking at me like I'm some kind of failure for not trying hard enough. I've been yoyo dieting since I was 11! I'm 27. Enough is enough. I'm doing this for me and I don't want the negative impact of others thoughts/feelings/words to intervene on my weight lose journey.

Better than sippy cup you can get about 100 medicine cups from Amazon for about $3-5. I had to reorder after my first week. And I highly recommend that you DO in fact make a serious investment in your Protein. Since you will no longer be spending money on other food you can have a spending spree on your protein and liquid and Vitamins and still save money. I highly recommend Premier Protein vanilla shakes, Vitamin Water Zero, and Pacific "Bone Stock" chicken broth. You can get these all on Amazon. The Premier Protein are READY to drink...i.e. No powder. They are $7.62 for 4 or $1.90 each and if you were getting a less expensive meal pre op let me know. The Bone Stock is ridiculously expensive at about $5 for two 8 oz servings but again that's $2.50 per meal now which is NOT expensive. Just also keep in mind that you will not sit down the day you get home from the hospital and chug an entire 8oz of broth or an entire 11 oz premier protein at once. It will take you at least an hour to get down that much of either. If you are buying powder Bariatric Advantage is the highest quality and best nutrition that there is and their Orange Cream flavor is very nice. If you skimp on this stuff, you are only skimping on yourself. If you get cheap vitamins you will not absorb them so well. If you get plain Campells chicken broth, well that is more of a salty liquid than a protein because it only has like 1 gram of protein per serving. Pre op I preferred and bought lots of beef consommé and chocolate shakes but post op I did not want ANYTHING remotely beefy or chocolatey. I'm 9 months out now and will have about 1 square a day of some REALLY good dark chocolate with almonds but I was about 3 months out before I really tried any. SPEND your paycheck on your nutrients:-) Do NOT shortchange yourself, this is not the time. Short changing ourselves is what got a lot of us to need the surgery to begin with. Take care of YOU girl. YOU Deserve it!!! [emoji4]

I just have to share because I'm finally seeing a difference in my body! I'm 3 months post-op and I have lost 74 lbs. I took a picture this weekend and finally could see a big difference. YAY for little victories and a place to share it where others understand completely!

I said I had a peptic ulcer removed to work and some friends who I knew would be unsupportive no one needs to know your private business I told a few friends and family and boy did I learn a lesson keep it to yourself the negativity is awful I found my skinny friends were like yay good for you and my big friends were negative saying things like your cheating you always take the easy way out etc so I stopped dead in my tracks however I decided that down the track when I'm smaller if a larger Person came up to me and said wow you look great how have you lost weight I would be 100% honest with them because giving someone false hope who is struggling is unfair I can't do that.

mnopali got a reaction from evelyn1470 in You know what I'm excited for?
I'm just starting this process but there are SO MANY things I am so excited to be able to and feel once I've accomplished my surgery and weight loss.
I'm excited to cross my legs again. I'm excited to stand for long periods of time without my feet feeling like they're going to EXPLODE. (I'm an RN at a busy dialysis center.) I'm excited to goto the amusement parks and not worry about fitting into ANY ride. I'm excited to just feel pretty again. I'm excited to have energy for my two little boys and not just plop down on the couch after 16 hours of work. I'm excited to not feel self conscious. I'm excited to see the looks on people's faces I haven't seen in a long time once I've transformed. I'm excited to go shopping. I'm excited to buy jeans and not live in black sweat pants. I'm excited to take my first ride on a plane. (Totally have been avoiding this) I'm excited to take selfies.. (let's face it.... You know you want to.) I'm excited to actually want to be in a family picture. I'm excited for energy.
I'm just thankful I've decided to go through this process though people tell me it's the way way out. (What're they thinking anyhow!?)
    Hooray for upcoming excitement

I am so sorry you are experiencing such distress. Many people go through a period of regret right after surgery for a variety of reasons: hormonal fluctuations, the shock of surgery on the system, the fact that you cannot use food to regulate moods and emotions, etc.
I would suggest that this is a good opportunity to look for a good counselor or therapist to help you learn to cope in a healthy way. See if the person who did your psych clearance can see you or refer you to someone.
Whether you want to or not, you cannot turn back the clock and change what happened. The good news is that you have no choice but to move forward: you get to decide how well you follow your program and learn to make the most of this opportunity.

Yeah this happened to my husband and I. I am 3 weeks post gastric sleeve... Once we started having sex, it hurt, the deeper he went. Never had that problem prior to surgery. I have no problem with dryness. I figured either I had to poop, or my intestines were still swollen on top of my uterus and cervix area. My incisions do not hurt, and are almost healed. You can barely see them. Told hubby, we need to give it a few more weeks...

I can't answer that because had my husband tried any monkey business that soon after surgery the only thing that would have hurt would have been his face and pride. Ummmm NO! I'd say give it some more healing time. Your brain may say yes but even your vajaja is like "hell to the NO!" I'd listen to your body!

Yes. Cigna required 3 months (generally spaced 1 month apart) and has to be a total of "greater than" 89 days.
