    Drinking sprite

When I was going through my preop stage, my nurse told me they once had a patient that hid a Pepsi in their bag that they brought with them to the hospital. She drank it when we she was post op and her stomach hemorrhage and she died. I was a hard core diet Pepsi fan. Not after I heard that story. Not worth it!!! 3. you nurses need to relax lolol... in reality.. sure you have a lot if extra info in your head that maybe u shouldn't but also that knowledge can be power...you can take better care of yourself too..but right now it's time to let go and be the patient...let them take care of you... don't give then a hard time bc you know better... and everyones trajectory is different and even unique so you can't predict what's going to happen and obsessing about all that can go wrong due to ur knowledge base isn't going to help you cope ir heal physically or emotionally....so try to let it go and get off the hamster wheelI know I know. Things went well and I'm feeling great! Sent from my SM-N920G using the BariatricPal App

  7. I am in the same boat. I'm also an RN and I know exactly what's gonna go down and I'm so scared. I'm having surgery on Wednesday and I'm on the verge of having a full blown anxiety attack at any minute!! LOL God Love anyone in my path from now until Wednesday haha. 8. My husband, mom, and brother know. I've also told work because my boss had RNY and I asked her all about it. She lead me in the right direction. I just don't want people looking at me like I'm some kind of failure for not trying hard enough. I've been yoyo dieting since I was 11! I'm 27. Enough is enough. I'm doing this for me and I don't want the negative impact of others thoughts/feelings/words to intervene on my weight lose journey. Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App
  9. I'm just starting this process but there are SO MANY things I am so excited to be able to and feel once I've accomplished my surgery and weight loss. I'm excited to cross my legs again. I'm excited to stand for long periods of time without my feet feeling like they're going to EXPLODE. (I'm an RN at a busy dialysis center.) I'm excited to goto the amusement parks and not worry about fitting into ANY ride. I'm excited to just feel pretty again. I'm excited to have energy for my two little boys and not just plop down on the couch after 16 hours of work. I'm excited to not feel self conscious. I'm excited to see the looks on people's faces I haven't seen in a long time once I've transformed. I'm excited to go shopping. I'm excited to buy jeans and not live in black sweat pants. I'm excited to take my first ride on a plane. (Totally have been avoiding this) I'm excited to take selfies.. (let's face it.... You know you want to.) I'm excited to actually want to be in a family picture. I'm excited for energy. I'm just thankful I've decided to go through this process though people tell me it's the way way out. (What're they thinking anyhow!?) Hooray for upcoming excitement Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App
  10. Hi all! New here and just made my first appointment to see the surgeon. I'm wondering if anyone has dealt with Cigna for their surgery? Is it a 3 or 4 month waiting period? Thanks! Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App
