I believe you. I hate that your band "pooped out" for you, and I hope that the sleeve will treat you like you deserve, lol.

biggest loser - '09
I think you're dead on. I do a lot of sleep studies for pre-band folks. I hear all the time: I'm supposed to be on the pre-op liquid diet, but I ate McDonalds for dinner. There's no way I can stay on that diet because [fill in the blank]. I usually mildly admonish them by saying "well, you know, the pre-op diet is really for your safety". Then the excuses really start a-flowing. Whatever.....I don't say any more after that.

Yup....that's me, Mr. Distinguished, lol Sorry, I'll refrain from any more of those "what are wearing right now" posts...just don't tell my wife!! Quitter. What? Kidding, only kidding... Don't you judge me, Glouc! Post a pic of the new ink Exactly. That's exactly how I look at it. Furthermore, I think that's the hardest part of getting the band.....having that "paradigm shift" finally sink in. I think this is wise. It's also the reason I have been VERY conservative with my fills. I went into this thing with the reasoning that I just needed a little "nudge" to help me with my portion sizes. I never expected the band to do all the work. Heck, I take a certain pride in the fact that I COULD eat pretty much anything.....I just choose not to (except, sometimes I choose to eat unhealthier stuff, with the full knowledge that I'll have to make up for it later). This way, I'm still loose enough to partake in "bad" food choices when the occasion dictates, but "tight" enough to not eat 3 platefuls. To me, that's good restriction and good quality of life. Balance. I do feel really bad for everybody that is having problems w/ their bands, because mine is making a huge impact. Donna, my doc recommended for me to supplement. We sat down and did the calculations (sex, overall size, activity level, he looked at my "metabolism test", etc.) and he said I should probably shoot for 100 g / day.....and there's no way I could get that much by eating real food. I will say, that I feel mas fantastico ever since I started supplementing. But....I totally get that everybody is different.

Wow, I did not know that. And I love catching Bones, whenever I'm able. Ok, I will check them out. BTW, I work out to both Crystal Method's - the name of the game and prodigy's - smack my bitch up

Bet you're sorry you voted for Obama now
I was a Romney man from the get-go. At the risk of angering some people, I think Ron Paul is a nut (I KNOW I should back him since we are both basically libertarians....but damn.....he's TOO libertarian for me). Huckabee and Palin did ok in the straw polls at the CPAC conference, so you can't really count either of them out yet.

Obama's stimulus package decision
Well, in that way, all politicians are the same. I don't think we'll ever get a president in my lifetime that will completely eschew political games in favor of the American public. In some ways, politics is loaded like that.....you could argue that the people that are drawn to public office in the first place are more likely to seek power and glory. Ok, Kook alert: Here's where I show my weird-ish side...I think a big part of the problem is that we're now (for all intents and purposes with the federal matching election funds system) locked into a two party system in America. All the candidates that can afford to run, both Democratic and Republican, are pretty wealthy. They have to be, since there are only 2 viable paths into politics......I just think there is a huge disconnect between the real American public and the people that represent us. Yeah, so I got into a rant and got off-topic. I don't agree with BJean on very much politically, but I do agree that there really wasn't a better plan on the table, and to blame Obama for wanting to spend his way out is like blaming birds for wanting to fly:That's what they do. Democrats tax and spend, Republicans lower taxes and spend.

And here I thought you were just ignoring me.....I actually enjoy electronic "rave" type music (takes me back to my tripping on acid days, I guess). I like Fatbot Slim, but my fave is The Crystal Method. I like how both of them tend to just space out on a song and make it last for 45 minutes.

need some help losing weight in a certain area
What he said. You can't "spot reduce" a fatty area by targeting.....You have to lose overall bodyfat. The bad news: That area sometimes requires plastic surgery to correct, even after you're @ goal.

Rancher being sued by illegal immigrants
Ok, on that we agree. It's the fallacious argument in the first 3 posts that I was having trouble with. I didn't mean specifically that you made that claim for Obama. I don't recall you being an especially ardent Obama supporter (I think of BJean when I think that). I was just trying to show the absurdity of the "4 more years of Bush" argument. That's true, but I think even you could concede that the "twatwaffle / dig out of pantyhose / bigger embarrassment than Bush" argument is a little convoluted.

I'd like to tell everybody a story. A story about a boy that was picked on in school. The boy decided to change his life. He worked hard, changed his bad habits, and went on to become a success. Some of you know this boy. He now calls himself.... The Winner

Please, let's not ruin the calm asylum that is PJTP by bringing up somebody that doesn't even post here. It's kinda like how nobody says "Voldemort" in the Harry Potter series. The fear is that saying the name might attract the attention of the individual.....

excuse us gentlemen, a poll from the ladies
Believe it or not, that was the original intent of the poll. In the ladies room, I (kinda jokingly, kinda not) said that there was a name for heterosexual men that enjoyed their wives inserting stuff into the anus: Gay. I was immediately challenged by several ladies. One even said, basically, that she knew many rich, powerful men that enjoyed that.....In the end (no pun intended) it was decided that some brave soul would ask the guys this question in "The Men's Room".

Rancher being sued by illegal immigrants
And again, I say that's overly simplistic. Vote (or don't) for somebody on their own merits, not because you think they may be similar to somebody else. Else, you might not have voted for Obama because he attented church with Rev. Wright 90% of the time, right? And that's a valid point. I wasn't exactly jazzed about McCain, either. Oh, I see. When it serves your purpose, associations are ok. When it serves the other side, it's a "cheap trick". I cannot refute such a well thought out and elegant position. Nicely constructed!

Rancher being sued by illegal immigrants
Wow, I see that really bought into the hype. So what if McCain voted with Bush 90% of the time? Does that mean they're the same person? Nope. That arguement is childlike, at best: George Bush had a dog. Obama is getting a dog. Obama is copying Bush policy. See? It's stupid not to vote for somebody based on somebody else's merits. Now, you actually have some valid points as to why you didn't vote McCain.....but those are based on what he personally did / did not do. Funny that the left loved comparing Bush to McCain based on their common associations, but cried foul when Obama was criticized for his associations with Ayers, etc. Personally, I like Palin. I don't think she's "as ignorant as they get"....my vote there would go to Blagovitch (sp?). I think she got crucified by the media and feminists. Compare Palin's interviews and Carolyn Kennedy's interviews, and tell me who comes off looking more stupid....
