  1. I expect that of all my dates. And by "dates", I mean women I see in WalMart and follow home.
  2. Well, see, the weight is not the thing, per se. What will really decide if somebody gets the band or not is if they have significant fat deposits around their liver. A fatty liver can make it difficult (and more dangerous) to place the band.
  3. I had my surgery done on an outpatient basis (day surgery). I was not even the first one on the table that morning, and I was at my house by 2:00 PM. I had my surgery done on a Friday and was back at work by Tuesday......there's some discomfort, but I wouldn't really say it was "painful". Others may disagree, though.
  4. Yar, I guess you are. Maybe it's because you keep gobbling up all the innocent little lambies??
  5. There wasn't a finger still attached to it, was there?
  6. Wow. Did your stitches pull? Hope everything goes ok.
  7. Yeah, some docs are really strict and won't do the surgery if the patient hasn't lost enough weight.....and some are pretty flexable. Good luck!
  8. Excellent news, tbryant. It's a very exciting time! Good luck!
  9. Seems a little creepy to me, but hey.....different strokes for different folks.
  10. Monkey, wise words, but....Get out of my head, lol.
  11. Hello there Kbaird. Congrats on your success so far. Was it your doctor that recommended the low-carb diet? Because, to me, the best part of being banded is being finished with gimmicky, hard-to-maintain diets (Adkins, South Beach, etc) and eating more balanced, healthier meals.....
  12. Hi J Marie. First off, it's not exactly uncommon to lose weight very slowly (or, as in your case, to gain a little) until you begin the process of getting "fills", or having saline added to the ring portion of your band. Just hang in there, keep following your doc's diet, and exercise (exercise may be the singlemost important thing you can do to maximize your band experience) until you start feeling restriction. A "PB" (stands for productive burp) is when you bring back up part of what you've been eating. It most commonly happens when a bandster doesn't follow the rules (for example, eats too large of a bite, eats too fast, eats too much, etc). It is not quite like a full-fledged vomit, but it is unpleasant.
  13. Hi Shanon. You might want to look in the "local support groups" section. That section breaks down folks by geographical location. Good luck!
  14. Welcome aboard, h8. It sounds to me like you're too tight.
  15. I'm not trying to "pile on" lapdancer, but Bryan could be right. I know 2 middle age guys at work that are gay (flamboyently gay, in fact) that recently go divorced from their wives (loooong term marriages. I think both of them had over 20 years in). Both of these men had children with their ex-wives, and both could not be more gay if they tried (not a criticism, just an example). So, ya know....maybe? I don't know very many men that NEVER think about sex (even the oldsters that can't / don't have it).

  17. Hells yes!!! ROADHOUSE!!!!! Perhaps I need to educate you on its merits? Perhaps my April Blog on facebook will be "The Tao of Roadhouse"....
  18. plain replied to luluc's topic in The Lounge
Is it weird that I got a little winded just watching them run 13 miles?
  19. Sorry, I think I left the door locked when I left.... WTH?? Pwnd! My daughter is 8. Perfect age. I feel sorry for the poor bastard that comes a-calling @ my house. THAT explains why you always want to work on that golf tourney at work! That's weird
  20. *looks around slyly.....walks off whistling*
  21. Well, to be honest, the beaches in Michigan would not be kind to me, genitally speaking. And mother nature has already wreaked much havoc anyway in that area (see the above "baby squirrel" post for clarification).
  22. Ok, note to self: Don't wear the speedo again.
  23. So who's the "one"? Oh......
  24. Well thanks for wrecking my self esteem. That's the last time I go to the beach with you....
  25. What do I do? I crash the ladies room and flash the unsuspecting! *opens raincoat* *runs off giggling*
