Its interesting the foods that everyone can not or will not have.
We aren't restricted like that... the motto is everything in moderation once you get to goal... and adjusting the rest of your meals to balance it all out whilst in the losing phase. (Personally i think this is a healthy way of teaching good eating habits for life)
Sushi is not an issue if you are going to have it once in a while, just don't go having it every week... i am 3 months post op today and i have had a prawn roll... no issues... except that it took me half a day to finish it...2 small bites and i was stuffed.

    Hey peeps...
Just wanted to share my NSV for today..
I went shopping today and saw this pretty top.. there was only one size left, i picked it up and looked at it and thought what a shame its too small... i walked around a little more and picked it up again.. and then thought why not, ill try it on anyway since i was going to the change room anyway to try on other tops.
On the way to the change room i was trying to justify to myself to buy it and that maybe one day i would be able to fit into it.. in a few months..
So i get to the change rooms and put it on and guess what! It was way to big... so big in fact that it looked horrible!
So yay to me!.. this sleeve of mine is finally working!
Now my brain just needs to catch up with my body

Exercise... build muscle.. try to focus on toning your skin.. get enough Protein and fluids... keep your skin in good health by exfoliating and keeping it well moisturised .. all these things helped me when i had my band... no loose skin at all... except the boobs.. they did lose volume... but other than that... no loose skin.

You have a very similar build to me.... i am quite muscular underneath all my fat.... if i go below 154 i look anorexic.... even when i was 176 i was still tiny... compared to others at the same weight... when i was 176 my friends and family were telling me i was getting too thin... so i think it depends on build, muscle and height..... how tall are you?
So it seems goals are very similar.... and congratulations on how far you have come so far... i can only imagine how awesome you will be once you have your surgery.

NeedaBreak4Me got a reaction from dvons in Biggest change or challenge from band to sleeve ?
Hi... i hope you are recovering well.
I was revised from band to sleeve... and the difference is like night and day.
When i had my band removed i did have a "phantom" band for a few weeks... but once that subsided my tummy was like my pre band tummy... normal.
Now that i am sleeved and healed... it just feels like a normal stomach... i can eat and drink without feeling odd sensations, pressure or food getting stuck like the band.
Earlier out when i was healing, if i ate too fast or didn't chew properly i would get a little "stuck" feeling.... but nothing like the stuck feeling with the band... sort of like.. stuck without that heavy pressure.
For me, once i passed the first 3-4 weeks... everything just became easier.... now i feel like a normal person, who just eats smaller portions.. Water isn't a issue and i am meeting or exceeding my daily goals.
One thing i will mention... as an ex bander... you will find you can fit a little more food/fluids than virgin sleevers... as we have less sensation in our esophagus because of the band.... so its important that we measure out food until we can adjust to reading the full signals...

It will get a little harder once you are on soft/solid foods... but as long as you chew.. eat slowly and take your time.. you should be fine

Some of us are fast healers...
I went shopping when i was discharged from hospital!
The energy lasted about 2 weeks... then week 3 i was a little tired.. but was still able to do stuff... i took it easy though.. i didn't want to crash and burn.... so even though i could... doesn't mean i should... healing is thr priority

NeedaBreak4Me got a reaction from KeepCalm in Slower weight loss second time around?
Absolutely, as long as i am losing i am happy... frustrated at the slowness... add a metobolic issue, and it gets doubly frustrating especially after hard work and doing the right thing... but its all good...

NeedaBreak4Me got a reaction from KeepCalm in Slower weight loss second time around?
As an ex bander i am finding weight loss is slower this time around.
The reason i did my sleeve is because i officially screwed up my metabolism... so i can't go on higher calories for life without gaining.
After major weight loss your body gets "used" to the dropping of major weight.. so the 2nd time around it becomes harder because the shock factor isn't there.
Unfortunately as ex banders and as people who have lost large amounts of weight... it will be slower this time around for both of us.
I have steadily lost weight, but i haven't lost big numbers each week.. even in the week post op... it has been slow and steady.

Whats wrong.. with constantly... using ellipses... i personally like them.... lol
I use them frequently because it is easier to use them.... than normal punctuation on my phone when i am quickly replying.
Its not a formal document....... do i need to do a spell check and proof read my posts too?.. if so... forget it... i am too busy living my life to worry about some extra full stops in a sentance to please a stranger on a forum... i try my best to use paragraphs and correct my spelling mistakes.. but i am not worrying about it being perfect.. but thats just me
P.S.. just realised this post may come across as rude or mean... the tone i intend is a casual one... no meaness intended ????
