So when I got my band I lost 100lbs in the first six months. By 9 months I had lost 127lbs and hit my goal weight. In total I went from 325lbs down to 198.
Even though I had horrible heartburn and reflux I kept most of the weight off staying around 225lbs for about 6 years. I had my Fluid taken out to relieve the heartburn and acid reflux and immediately gained weight. I ended up at 299.8lbs the day after my revision surgery from band to sleeve.
I lost weight pretty quick after my revision surgery and dropped back down to about 275. That was on June 7th. I'm about 5-6 weeks out and I've lost lost another few pounds. Today I was 171.8lbs.
I can't figure out what's different this time. Is it because my metabolism is slower now? I read recently about how contestants on the biggest loser had slower metabolisms after they lost all of their weight. This makes me think that losing weight and then gaining back really slowed my metabolism down.
I know when I got my band I eliminated about 95% of bread, rice, and Pasta from my diet and wonder if this could be what's hurting me.
My recovery has been a little slower this time because I've had some drainage from my old port site so I haven't been quite as active as quickly as I was the first time with my band.
So, anyone else have slower weight loss with their sleeve than with their band after revision? Any thoughts or ideas on what I should do or should I just be more patient? I would love to hear some insights. Thanks!
