Slower weight loss second time around?

So when I got my band I lost 100lbs in the first six months. By 9 months I had lost 127lbs and hit my goal weight. In total I went from 325lbs down to 198.

Even though I had horrible heartburn and reflux I kept most of the weight off staying around 225lbs for about 6 years. I had my Fluid taken out to relieve the heartburn and acid reflux and immediately gained weight. I ended up at 299.8lbs the day after my revision surgery from band to sleeve.

I lost weight pretty quick after my revision surgery and dropped back down to about 275. That was on June 7th. I'm about 5-6 weeks out and I've lost lost another few pounds. Today I was 171.8lbs.

I can't figure out what's different this time. Is it because my metabolism is slower now? I read recently about how contestants on the biggest loser had slower metabolisms after they lost all of their weight. This makes me think that losing weight and then gaining back really slowed my metabolism down.

I know when I got my band I eliminated about 95% of bread, rice, and Pasta from my diet and wonder if this could be what's hurting me.

My recovery has been a little slower this time because I've had some drainage from my old port site so I haven't been quite as active as quickly as I was the first time with my band.

So, anyone else have slower weight loss with their sleeve than with their band after revision? Any thoughts or ideas on what I should do or should I just be more patient? I would love to hear some insights. Thanks!

Y'know, folks, a slower rate of weight loss may be a letdown, but thinking about it is known in the trade as 'maladaptive cognition.' In real-life terms, it means thinking things that aren't good to

I added a cheese stick and protien granola bar to my daily routine because some vets suggested I get more calories. That broke my 3 month stall. I am starting to understand this whole lose then stall thing. It gives my body time to adjust and my skin to tighten. I guess I am 'embarrassing the stalls" LOL Still super slow weight loss, 33 lbs since May 28th.

Can you show me a sample of your daily routine. I've been stalling for 4 weeks aarrrggggg..

I didn't lose any weight with the lap band. I was band 11 yrs ago. I will have the revision a week from tomorrow. Going from band to sleeve switch. My Dr is very confident I will lose at least 90lbs. Has anyone gone from the band to Dodenal switch in one surgery?

breakfast: one scrambled egg or 1/2 greek yogurt

snack: low fat string cheese or protien granola bar

lunch: 2 slices of lunch meat or 3 oz chicken breast or 3 oz fish

snack: 1/2 apple or cheese or 5 grapes or Protein granola bar

dinner: 3 oz fish or 3 oz steak or what ever I eat till I am full. Never more than 1/2 cup

Also I drink 1 to 1 1/2 Premier Protein shakes through out the day, plus 40 oz of Water

I walk 1 mile on the treadmill and do about 10 minutes of various weight machines at the gym daily.

Stick to the PreOp diet! It's a little difficult at first by by the 2 or 3 day you will be fine. I had a few awful headaches but pushed through them. I'm at the point that I'm not thinking about food. I do have cucumbers and lettuce (very small) amount at lunch, I am allowed to have veggies.

Post op 15 days today. Had my lap band since 2009 before my revision on Sept. 2, 2016. I'm 15 lbs down since I had my surgery. I average 597 cals, 60 carbs per day since the surgery. I talk a daily walk for 20 minutes.

Super fast weight loss is almost always Water weight. People just don't lose 5 lbs of fat per day. The way I look at it, if I intake 600-800 cal a day, I'm going to lose weight at a good rate unless I'm retaining water for some reason. If I'm not losing, then I have to figure out why I'm retaining water. That's the way I look at it.

Btw, the sleeve makes it easier to cut back on calories/carbs, way easier... I'm really happy with the switch.

Really happy. :)

Each time I think I'm okay to keep the band for now. I read these forums and change my mind again.
