  5. I to have insomnia and take ambien, but nothing was mentioned to me as far as it being a problem for surgery
  6. I too am a preop diet of Optifast. I'm on day 3 and it's killing me, lol. I'm getting banded on Tuesday. Good luck to you.

  11. I currently take 160mg of Geodon and do not take it with food (I know I am supposed to). It has helped me tremendously. I haven't been banded yet, but my psychiatrist doesn't think it will be a problem with the band.
  12. I didn't have documented weight history either. My wonderful PCP wrote an outstanding letter to my insurance company, with all of the programs that I've been through, the diet pills, etc. I believe this was instrumental in getting my approval.

  20. These books are excellent reference materials and most people may not want to give that up. You may just have to go out and buy like everyone else who has already.
  21. Lapband for Life by Dr. Ortiz was very helpful I read it all in less than a week. If you can't get it online, definitely try Barnes and Noble or Borders.
  22. I'm so excited to finally be approved after months of going to the gym and being weighed weekly. It's all paying off now.
