  1. Hey all! I had the sleeve in 2017 and never got to my goal weight and I had GERD. So fast forward to 2024 and had my sasi. All is well except now I can’t keep any food down. I’m having diarrhea several times a day for the past month. Any one else had issues like this? Oh and then I found out I have fatty liver. 😫🤷🏽‍♀️😵‍💫 scared! Smh

    January 2024 surgery buddies

I’m down 63 lbs since my January 9, 2024 surgery day. I’m at a plateau but steady progress. I went from sleeve to SASI. Best decision I made! Still can’t believe I wear a size 10/L pants. 😊 I need to work on strength training but overall I feel great.
  3. Omg! Sorry for this late update, but after a long time dealing with which procedure to get, I ended up going with the SASI bypass on January 9, 2024. My surgery went well. I was immensely sore. I had so much excess gas in my stomach it was unbearable for at least 3 days after surgery. I didn’t get complications until two weeks after surgery and I have been up and down on feeling ill ever since. My surgeon put me on purées for the rest of this month. 🙃 other than that, I’m alive and well. 😀

I think you might need to talk with your surgeon and be really detailed about when you can’t hold down food. All the time? Only in morning? Before bile movement after BM, certain food triggers, etc. I got the Revision from the sleeve to the SASI bypass. I had the sleeve in 2017. There was a balloon at the top of my sleeve stomach and for the past 2years I was wondering why after I took a BM, I felt bloated and I always had gerd with a little regurgitation. It took my new surgeon to tell me that I had a balloon/bubble. So, basically I didn’t know I had that until my 1 day post surgery follow up on my SASI procedure on January 10, 2024. Long story short, I think you can do a revision surgery. I haven’t heard of a reversal. There’s the SASI and the SADI bypass.

Me! I’m January 9th I’m getting the SASI
  9. No, the SASI slims the excess of the stomach from the sleeve and meets the upper and lower intestines. I was quoted $18,900 for that at IBI Healthcare in Buckhead in Atlanta. The bypass is $14k. I think I’m going to go with the Bypass. My goal is to really stop eating bread and cheese. I am almost a vegan as I’ve cut out every meat, and all sugars. I want this tool to trigger dumping so I can really stop. My weight gain recently is due to starch and stress. And, I also stopped going to my therapist and my nutritionist. I’m restarting my therapy right now. Unfortunately, I’m back at my starting weight from back in 2017 which is 240. So, I’m a bit defeated by the recent weight gain. I’m hoping to start again with the process this week or next week. Since my goal is to lose 90 lbs, I don’t think the ESG would work for me.
  10. I can’t believe it’s been over a year since I STILL HAVENT made a decision. I have the money to do the surgery, but now I have added 2 additional surgery options. Now, I can’t decide between 1. Bypass 2. ESG 3. GSRE - gastric sleeve revision surgery 4. SASI - single anstanomis ilietal surgery. I know I’m spelling it wrong. This one is supposed to make you lose 60+ lbs and is one stitch.
  11. Anyone had a SASI procedure in Georgia?
  12. Ohh wow! That’s awesome! You did really great on the sleeve. I might have gotten to 185, but I never made my goal weight. We are so similar. My body loves to store water too. I can never get enough water in. 4 bottles is a struggle let alone 5. I would love to get down to between 145 and 165. But, for now, I’m setting the bar low so I can meet small milestones. Lol Sounds like you’re following the plan really well. I think that’s where I made my mistake. I’m going to continue eating right and watching the sneaky sugars. If I do it, it’ll be At IBI healthcare or true you weight loss in GA. Who was your surgeon?
  13. Cool! Congratulations on your weight loss! This is very good information. I appreciate your update and response. How much are you trying to lose? For the past month I did a complete overhaul of my diet to do very low carb and low calorie diet, and high protein. I’m so glad I was able to lose 15 lbs. I have 35 lbs to go. I might put the surgery on hold until I can get my diet under control. I didn’t know that the bypass will cause anemia. Surprisingly, my GERD went away with the diet changes. 😃
  14. Okay thanks! I want the bypass but I need to save up for it
  15. I’m torn between getting the ESG over the bypass. How did you decide which one to do?
