    Pre-op liquid diet and diabetes

I have type 2 diabetes and prior to my surgury I was put on a 5 week semi liquid / liquid diet. I was on an insulin pump and took metforman and Januvia. My endocrinologist cut my insulin in half at the start of my pre op diet. 3 weeks in I lost 40 lbs and she took me off the insulin pump. Prior to surgury I had lost 55 lbs and she took me off all my medications declareing that my diabetes was is in full remission. Now 16 weeks out and my blood sugars consistently test in the 80's & 90's. Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App

    Working out and calories in/out

I've been doing cardio one hour per day 7 days per week since 1 week post op. Plus I walk maybe 3 miles per day as well. I probably burn 800 calories a day exercising and took in less than 800 calories a day eating. I was loosing about 8 lbs per week. Now I'm eating maybe 1100 Calories a day and my weight loss has dropped to about 2 lbs per week. I'm 16 weeks out and have dropped 115 lbs and about 15 lbs from goal weight. 4. I work overnights as well. I try to eat normally during the day...Breakfast when I get home which is usually a protien shake or yogurt. I then go to sleep by 8a till 1p. Have lunch. Go to the gym. Have my dinner around 6p. Go back to bed from 6p to 8p. Then head off to work. For the overnite shift I bring a youguart or protien bar to eat at 11p and a protien shake to drink at 330a. That's basically how I handle the overnite shift. 1 Week (4 Days Post Op) Gastric Sleeve

It will come off...its important to follow the process that your surgoun and nutrionist mapped out. Stick to the diet, get your exercise in and remember that this is a long term process, not a sprit. Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App

    Not losing weight

Your weight loss is fantastic! I anticipated a weight loss of 2 lbs per week....your at 2.5lbs per week. Look at it this way, at 2 lbs per week you'll be down a 100lbs in just about a year...and that's somthing to smile about! So insted of grumbling about "only loosing 16 lbs in 6 weeks"...try shouting out "hey everyone, I've lost 16 lbs in 6 weeks!!! Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App

    Starting weight 340 - age 50

Im a guy...I had my sleeve at age 55 and was 348lbs. I'm now 4 months out and down 110lbs. I'm off all medications, off insulin, diabetes is in full remission, sleep apnea gone, 4x to xl in shirt size and 52 to 40 waist size. No regrets and life is great! Don't get me wrong, this is a tool and not a magic fix. I've worked very hard working out every day, walking and riding my bike. I've also followed my nutritionist eating plan to the T and not cheating with red flag foods. Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App

How soon can you return to work?

I guess it depends on your physical activity at work. A desk job probably 1 week. A job with heavy lifting could be up to 4 weeks. Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App

    In My Hospital Bag

The only items I used were my phone and charger. The hospital supplied everything else that I needed even lotion, a tooth brush and tooth paste. You'll be in a hospital gown and slipper socks that they provide. Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App
