I start my pre-op diet tomorrow, and I am panicking big time! What if I can't do it???? I mean, willpower is not really my friend... I could use a surgery buddy, badly! I am 58 year old female, and bmi is at 37, so of course I worry I should just diet and lose it all, which of course I can't. anyone just going to start their preop diet and feeling the same way?

I had a two week, clear liquids only and 4 protein shakes day day. I knew it wouldn't be easy, but I kept envisioning the goal and I was so close to it, that I didn't want to screw up and push my surgery date farther down the road. You can do this! Sugar free Popsicles, clear broths and stocks (one time I had Mexican fish soup from a restaurant totally strained) and jello and crystal light really help. I wish you the best. Don't sell yourself short-you're stronger than you give yourself credit for. It takes a strong person to make this life changing decision.

Getting support from others is helping, we can all struggle through it together!

Stick to the plan your nut gave you for your pre op diet. I was given a 4 week pre op diet. After day 5 I lost my appetite and cravings were gone...I and found the diet easy to follow. Best of luck on your new journey!

I have surgery on the 22nd too. I started my pre op last Monday. I am struggling as well. I am nervous and scared, and hungry lol
