  1. I am 5 days out and I might be worrying about this to soon, but better late than never. I don't have a nutritionist, so as far as our goals for how many grams of Protein, sugar and carbs are we supposed to have each day I haven't be told and have no clue. I was simply told high protein, low carb, low sugar? Those of you who have this information, could you share? Thank yoouuuu!

    DEEP, DEEP HUNGER

Yeah I figure once I can have actual food it will feel better! Right now, I keep having a pain and idk if it's gas or full or what? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I don't really remember having any pain, maybe more discomfort. If you're overeating anything liquid or puréed, you can overdo it and cause that. I had a pretty rough time the first couple of weeks, but it does get better! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App It almost feels like a burp or something. It does it no matter what though. Kinda like my belly is gonna eat my insides. It might be digesting and I'm not use to it. I am gonna have to get use to all the feels and what they mean. Nutritionist?

I'm going to call tomorrow and ask, but to my knowledge no. I wasn't provided information for one. I would really like to have someone to talk to about what I eat and what I shouldn't eat and getting on the right track. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Vitamins?

I need to get a multi Vitamin... I don't want a huge pill that I have to swallow. I want a gummy or chewable or something that is going to go down safely. Recommendations? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Vitamins?

That's what I was thinking about taking. I want something that is going to be easy on my stomach and that doesn't taste bad, or hard to swallow. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Can I eat/drink?

That might be what is wrong with me. I had a few sips of one earlier, after I took a shower I was so weak and light headed, shaking, like my sugar dropped or something. I am going now to get some of the premier shakes that everyone recommends. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    DEEP, DEEP HUNGER

I take it too- one 60 mg capsule a day. Since it was in capsule form, I was allowed to swallow it right away after surgery and it goes down just fine but it's a medium sized capsule. Perhaps your pharmacy could give it to you in a different form? I have tried to withdrawal from it. The brain zaps are horrible. Kind of wish I never started taking it but I was crying all the time. My son, who was 5 at the time, asked me, "Mommy, why are you so sad all the time?" That's when I knew I had to get on something for depression and it helps. It really does help but I sometimes would like to clear my body of it for awhile. Tell me about it! My husband made pancakes for our son, who is now 9, this morning. I grabbed a Protein drink and high tailed it out of the kitchen. I used to love Sunday morning pancakes. I'll be able to partake again- someday, on a limited basis I hope. I hope your 4 year old takes a nap today! I am able to take them, I just have that fear that it's going to get stuck. My husband took care of my son for a little while and I rested until I felt a little better. My head is killing me still... I would really like to try and go walk later this afternoon. I have been on cymbalta since 2009, and i would love to come off them. If I could handle the withdrawals, I would, and I try and then find myself weak... because they are just horrible. DEEP, DEEP HUNGER

I have to take cymbalta, which is an antidepressant. They aren't HUGE pills... but they are capsules and bigger. So I am scared they will get stuck. I normally take 2 a day. Since surgery I have been taking 1 a day. Trying to lower my dosage a little. I would love to come off them, but the side effects from withdrawal are almost unbearable. I am noticing some headaches and the weird feeling I get when I haven't taken it. So I'm guessing it's starting to kick in and realize in not giving my brain what it's use to. So the emotional rollercoaster I completely understand.... from both view points. The surgery and coming off anti depressants. My 4 year old is loud and wants to yell... it makes my head spin. Everything is on my nerves, and my feelings are hurt because everyone around me can eat what they want, and I can't. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    1 month post op.....MISERABLE!

So you still take your Prilosec? I was told that I might not need mine afterwards, because most of the acid that comes from acid reflux would be cut out in the past of the stomach that was removed. So I haven't taken mine. I don't like taking pills at all. They hurt me. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    DEEP, DEEP HUNGER

I am three days out. I am having the same problems. I feel like I'm starving. I think it really is head hunger, because what we are eating isn't what we are use to, and it's not "good"... it doesn't satisfy that hungry feeling. I have tried the same stuff you have, and I don't feel satisfies. I just want more... I want food. This is hard. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Go away head hunger?

No no I'm not in that much pain. I was up walking the day of surgery too. Went to a store with my husband earlier, but like getting up and going outside for a walk right now, brings pain. I am just really sore. I was just released yesterday. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Can I eat/drink?

Oh dear lord, were you sleeved by a team of chimpanzees? Is that all the guidance your post op instructions contains? Special K protein' drinks' are not your best option, BTW. Actually I have an excellent doctor! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Can I eat/drink?

Okay, so protein shake would be okay? Even 2 days out of surgery? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Okay, call me crazy, but what does your plan say? Are you still on clear liquids? If so, then NO you shouldn't even have a protein shake yet. And a milkshake? I'm 2 years out and STILL haven't had a milkshake! For God's sake it's been 2 days. Stick to your plan until you are given permission from your surgeon to advance stages. They aren't doing it to torture you. The post surgical instructions are there for your own safety as you heal. I know its hard, but suck it up, buttercup. It doesn't say CLEAR liquid. It says liquid diet. You know if your going to be rude with your comments, you can stay off my post. I'm glad your two years out and know all about it, but me... I am not. No I didn't have much planning or coaching. I don't have help. It's me. I'm not supposed to have protein shakes once I hit real food stage, until then I DONT KNOW. Which would explain why I asked. Don't make me feel like a failure because I asked a question.
