  1. Congratulations on getting your band! It will get better from here on out, so just hang in there. You're starting a new way of life! Emily

I don't care who wins as long as its not Kellie! All the others are really good at this stage, but she isn't in the same league at all. Cross your fingers that she goes tonight!! Emily
  3. A lot of people have posted here that it takes more than one fill...maybe several...to feel restriction, so I wouldn't get too worried about it. Also, you didn't say how long it's been since your one fill...sometimes it takes a couple of weeks for it to kick in. If it's been longer, ask if you can get another fill. My doc makes me wait at least a month between fills, but maybe others don't. Emily
  4. I, too, am so sorry to hear about your mom. I haven't had to face that yet and can't imagine how hard it must be. Only you know whether you can handle this extra stress right now. If you need to wait, just take all the time you need. Someone suggested that it might be a way to honor your mom to go ahead, and I liked that suggestion, but we can't decide what's right for you. It's normal to fear the surgery...all of us were a little (or a lot!) nervous, but it is a fairly routine surgery and is probably safer than continuing without it. Know that you have lots of support and love here, whatever you decide. Hugs~ Emily
  5. I was worried about being able to drink a lot of Water because I'm prone to bladder infections, but I've been fine. I can still drink a 6-oz. glass at a time...I just do it more often. I fill a 2-quart jug every night before I go home and then drink it the next day...hopefully it's all gone by the time I leave work. I've only had 2 fills, and maybe that will change as I get more restricted, but for now it's fine. Emily
  6. Feeling like there is hope that I will feel and look great again. I'm only 3 months out and have lost 30 pounds, so I have a long way to go, but now I know it will happen! And putting hope back in my life has been a miracle! Emily
  7. My sentiments exactly! I'd drink prune juice by the gallon before I'd take that stuff again! Emily
  8. What a great NSV and boost to your self-esteem and determination to keep going!! Congratulations, that's awesom! Emily

Our hospital administrator had shared the same list with us at a board meeting, and we laughed throughout the whole meeting. I particularly like the last one, too...another one was "have you found my dignity yet?", which I also liked. Emily
  10. Finally someone else who doesn't like them! I think we're really in the minority, but I thought they were awful! Emily
  11. I like the morningstar farms tomato basil & mozarella burgers and their grillers but not the grillers prime...those are horrible. Emily
  12. Congratulations! You look gorgeous! Pictures are such an inspiration. And your daughter is just beautiful. Emily
  13. Congratulations!! You'll soon be feeling better...the gas pain really sucks, but fortunately it doesn't last too long (although it feels like it!). Emily
  14. Leenerbups, are you diabetic? My son is Type 1 and had to quit taking Prozac because it made him unable to feel the lows and he'd get so low he'd have almost seizure-type episodes and he'd be so confused he couldn't figure out how to open the car door, etc.. So if it's a problem, let someone know...it can be dangerous. Emily
  15. I drink those little individual cans of prune juice if I'm having trouble, and it works every time. I tried milk of magnesia and thought I was going to throw up...something about it just repulses me. Emily
  16. I agree with Anwyn...we need this support as much as we need exercise. Having said that, I know I spend time on here so that it gets my mind off food as well as for learning more about the band lifestyle and reciving/giving support. Everyone uses it as it fits their needs and lifestyle...but I probably wouldn't be exercising during that time if I quit this, either. Emily
  17. I do quilting, which I feel is fabric art, but I don't have any photos...will try to get some. I tend to make them and give them away as gifts. I also like to do primitive embroidery and have made and sold embroidered pillows to a couple of local gift shops. Recently I bought some felted wool and did a small garden scene for a friend...want to do one for myself next. I'd love to be able to draw and paint, but I'm hopeless at it. Emily
  18. That's for sure, Sharon! I like the way underwires fit but hate the wires, so I've taken them out...then I get the fit without the poking and pinching. I gave up on the wires when I was in church one day and looked down to see an underwire poking out between the buttons of my shirt!! Try fixing that unobtrusively!! Emily
  19. chocolate and cheetos, both of which still go down fine Emily
  20. I'm needing some new ones...where did you get the Queen Latifah ones? Do they have stretch straps? I'll never understand why they put stretch straps on something that has to hold really big boobs up...all it does is make them sag in front while it hitches up to my neck in back! Emily
  21. I took it for several years and it worked really well for me. Did't make me gain weight, but maybe it works that way for some people. It eventually stopped working so well and they upped the dose...then it make me twitch and tremble, so I switched to Lexapro. Emily
  22. Crystal~ You have given such wonderful advice and shared your heart with so many of us. You've been a blessing over and over. I understand why you need to take a break...it hurts to be reminded over and over that it isn't and probably won't work for you. But please don't leave us permanently. You are an important part of this family and we will miss you while you're gone and hope to welcome you back when it's right for you. Please do keep us updated on your health issues, though. We care so much about you. Hugs. Emily
  23. Wow! You look so great! Thanks for sharing the inspiration~ Emily
  24. Thanks, P'Nut for saying it so well. No one else understands like this group, and I'm so thankful for all of you and this place. Emily

I'm glad Ace is gone, but I would be even gladder is it had been Kellie. She is REALLY getting on my nerves!! How she avoids the bottom three even is one of life's great mysteries!! I was SO hoping she'd go. Next week should be good. Emily
