Clothes Chatter
I am right where you are at the moment size wise. I just got into 16 in pants & shorts and I can do either 1X in plus or XL in misses but it definitely depends on the style and cut. Unlike you, I am having a blast with shopping. I started at 26 in pants and a 3x in tops so just the idea of getting things from misses is a complete thrill. I have had good luck at Kohl's, Mervyns, Dillards, and Macys. I have been going shopping for myself at least twice a week for the past month or so, I can't get enough!

Will the desire for food ever go away?
I don't know if it will ever go away, I still get the desire, sometimes it is purely emotional, but I have really good restriction and it stops me dead in my tracks.

I busted through my plateau...
Yeah!! Those plateaus are the pits, makes the mind think too many bad things. 8 pounds in a week is FABULOUS!!!

Has anyone tried the Viactiv Multi Vitamin chews?
I have a very hard time with the smell of vitamins and I have to gag down the Flinstones every day and it is getting harder and harder since my last fill. I found some Viactiv chews that you can take instead of your multivitamin. I am scared to try them for fear of not being able to eat dinner tonight if they are too nasty. Has anyone else tried them?

Should I switch programs? Looking for advice..
I can only speak from my own experience, which was the complete opposite of yours. My clinic did all preop testing, psych, nutritional, etc in 2 office visits. They took about 3-4 each but after that I was good to go. The only hoop I had to jump through was getting my medical clearance from my PCP and getting my records sent to them. The process you have described sounds very long and tedious. I would check in to some others, even if it means you have to do more traveling, seems like the program you are on isn't very organized. I can only imagine how long it would take you to get a surgery date with everything else taking so long. Best of luck to you!!

My inner Victory- Bravery.
I think it is the inner victories that keep us going. People can tell you that you look good, etc but its those ones that are in our heads that (good or bad) that count so much. I'm so happy for you!!

Update
It doesn't matter how fast or slow it is coming off, at least you are losing and it sounds like it is pretty consistent. Keep up the good work, this sure isn't easy!!!

Stomach Sleepers - Does your band ever hurt?
Not for me. It took about a month after surgery before I was able to do it again, but no problems.

A dilemma, I have an overweight child...
Maybe instead of saying anything to her and giving her something else to think about, just continue to make changes in the family lifestyle and invite her along to jog or ride bikes with you and have her along as a 'helper' to her mommy to lose weight. Make it something fun for her, letting her believe that she is doing it for you. There are several mommy & me exercise videos that she 'help' you with. My daughter has a ball that she uses when we do pilates and attempts to do what I do. You could even invite her along on 'reward' trips to the mall to buy new clothes. Best of luck to you both!!

Calling All NURSES!!
I have been an RN for 14 years, but have only worked PRN for the past 5 years since having my fourth child. I worked mainly in hospice for most of my working career.

How long til your brain "clicked"?
I would say mine was surgery day as well. Coming out of the anesthesia and feeling sooooo much pain. I realized this just wasn't worth it. That I let myself get to this point of needing surgery. It also helps that I haven't had alot of cravings and no matter how restricted I am, I still feel like I am eating too much, even though I am not.

Lost inches from the stomach?
I think it is very possible. I kind of felt this way after the restriction from my first fill subsided but in retrospect I think it was just the difference between how I felt right after the fill and how I felt when it subsided. If you are at a plateau as well, it can't hurt to move up your fill date. I cannot say enough about the difference between the first and second fills.

Bloated Upper Belly??
Mine hasn't been that way, I have actually lost quite a bit of my upper stomach. I do have a little poochy area where my port is that doesn't want to go away no matter how many crunches I do. Hopefully someone else can be more help.

Is anyone else starting to lose their hair?
I knew it would happen eventually, but this is starting to get scary. It happened after having all of my kids but this is a bit more. I don't want to cut my hair short :frown:

Any one out there with PCOS?
I have PCOS and have been banded for close to 3 months. I haven't had any problems with losing weight since being banded, but often struggled beforehand partly due to the PCOS. Also, I used to have a period once or twice a year and now I am as regular as anyone else.

Sold a bill of goods
I'm not a good 'dieter' either but I think you need to give it some more time. When you get to the right amount of restriction, you will be forced into compliance and hopefully for you the weight will start coming off.

I've lost my ever loving mind!
Go for it! I bet you will be surprised at how good you do, especially after such an awesome weight loss. Some things stay with you. I did competitive gymnastics and alot of dance while younger and my stretching ability is still amazing, especially for weighing as much as I do.

How much fill do you have?
I was banded on 2/14 and just had my second fill. I am at 4.75 in my 10cc band. So far, I have great restriction from this last fill.
