  1. Woohoo look at you!! You look great. Love the new do
  2. I have noticed lately that my lower stomach is hanging quite a bit more than it used to which I know is normal and we are putting money away for a tummy tuck in the future. But, last night I got out of the shower and noticed that something near my belly button HURT! I looked and right by my belly button, my is tearing, feels like a nasty paper cut. It is right down a stretch mark where the skin is thinner. I don't remember bumping or scraping across anything. I have never heard of this happening, has anyone else?
  3. When you finally get that restriction you have to really start remembering all of the things they warned you about like eating slow, chewing everything to death, and watching out for breads and pastas. When I first got banded, I thought, HA I can still eat this stuff and I am losing weight, but when I got good restriction, I slowly learned that I was not quite as invincible as I thought I was. I generally avoid breads, rice, pastas, lettuce, steak and most beef. On the upside, the weight is falling off and at a good rate. It is like my body is telling me this is how I want to be fed and it is slowly but surely going back to the way it used to be.
  4. I have the exact same problem. I am really good with my restriction except for the week before AF and then I can barely eat a thing. It is so frustrating because that kind of restriction is above and beyond what anyone needs. I have no solution but I totally feel your pain!
  5. I have read on here where people actually have more than their band capacity put into their bands in order to get enough restriction. I think it depends on the person, everyone seems to have a different 'sweet spot'
  6. Hopefully the time will speed by, sorry you have to go through this.
  7. I feel like this alot lately, like I was really missing out on life before this, or going through the motions but not really realizing that. Life is so good, I am glad you are feeling it too!
  8. Very interesting. As much as I hate losing so much hair, I will take it any day over the fat
  9. I usually give any food 2 times. If I get stuck with a particular food two times, then I do my best to avoid it in the future. You will probably have to wait until you start getting some restriction to see what will work for you and what will not.
  10. No problems here either, I am just very careful with chewing it up really well.
  11. Congrats on getting restriction finally!! I have 4.25 cc in my 10 cc band and I have very good restriction, definitely at my sweet spot. It has been a few days more than 6 weeks since my fill and I have lost 22 pounds which includes a week of vacation and indulgences. Hope this one has gotten you to that sweet spot!!
  12. That is so awesome!! You have to be over the moon getting that far that fast. WooHoo!!
  13. I was losing it in gobs and finally got a bunch of it chopped off and started using Nioxin shampoo and conditioner on the recommendation of my stylist and I now have little spikey hairs sticking up. I am still losing hair though :rolleyes2:
  14. I went back after 5 weeks and had no problems except for the typical Curves bore :smile2:
  15. Glad you are getting your fill today. Hopefully it will help take you to the next level for weight loss. I am so sorry you are having a hard time and so sorry about your husband. Keep looking for a therapist, that will if nothing else, give you someone to unload on. Take care of yourself!
  16. So who is in for this week?? I made my goal for last week. I am aiming again for 3hrs/180 minutes Lets get moving ladies, there are beaches we need to strut our stuff on!!
  17. Give us an update on your restriction progress since you are probably on solids now.
  18. What a great hubby you are. I would say from personal experience, make helping her any way you can for the first week or so your first, second, and third priority. When I had my surgery, my DH roomed in with me and every time I so much as winced, he was right there trying to help. Walked with me, helped me dress, and even helped change my tampon TMI I know. When I got home, he made my Protein shakes and broth and helped me up and down the stairs. Best of luck to your wife with her surgery!!
  19. I have a 10 cc band. My first fill at 5 weeks postop was 3.5 cc and I felt some good restriction for about 2 weeks and then it disappeared. My second fill was 1.25 cc around 10 weeks postop which was about 5 weeks ago. I got really really good restriction at that time and still do, lost 21 lbs since then.
  20. You are looking great!! Keep it up!!
  21. What you are feeling is so normal. I did nothing but pray until they placed the mask over my face. I was so scared that I was going to leave my husband and kids behind. Obviously, that didn't happen and I don't regret it for a second. My life is totally changed and I am happier than I have been in years. Stay positive and think about how much easier it will be to take care of your little one in a smaller body and the long term effects it will have for you. Best of luck to you!!
  22. A friend of mines nephew had it done mainly for that reason but he was a self pay so I have nothing to add regarding the insurance issue. But he went from taking meds as well as insulin to taking nothing at all. I know he had very poor control of it. He had it in the fall of last year, I am not sure exactly when but he considers himself cured. Good luck with getting your surgery!
  23. You look great!! You can really tell a big difference!!
  24. Oh I would love to do a Wii challenge! Post when you get one and maybe we can get some others involved as well. It is really alot of fun guys!!
  25. I am LOVIN this! We finally found one and I have been playing constantly for the past few days and really feeling it everywhere. Its like they took exercise and made it fun. I completely surpassed my exercise goal for the week and I am ready to do more
