Gone for Good Club - May 2006
All right buddies~ Just got back from meeting with a Trainer... Verdict: I am a fat ass! Just kidding. OK, So my cousin and I joined a gym on Monday. I went and worked out Tuesday, Wednesday and today. Today we met with a trainer. He weighed me, took measurements, and calculated my percentage of body fat (ICK) The last one is the one I was COMPLETELY dreading. I mean, my husband doesn't even get to pinch my fat, why in the world did I let a stranger? So I thought my percentage of body fat would be 99.9% When he told me it was 41%, I was pretty happy :Banane20: I know ideally in perfect shape people it is like 18.9%? So I was just really glad that it wasn't 100%. My cuz and I hired him to be our trainer. We are going to work with him for 50 minutes once a week (that's all we can afford) Wish I had 3,000 for the big plan they wanted to set us up on, but that ain't gonna happen right now. I am VERY excited about this whole gym thing. I NEVER in a gazillion years thought that I would WANT to go and work out. Sheez, I feel like a million bucks. Guess I am in the "Honeymoon Phase" of working out !!! heheheheeee I am going to put my weight in my sig that the stupid freaking gym said. That way I will update it once a week and quit weighing at home everyday.

The latest PM Thanked me for correcting PAT, and then told me to take my picture off because I am ugly... Now, THAT isn't very Christian like at all. PAT MUST be a model or something... What PAT said makes PAT the Ugliest barker on LBT!!! I am not being very Christian like the way I responded... but I would never call someone ugly like that.. I mean... IS SHE BLIND???????????????? I AM A HOTTIE!!!! hahahhahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

It was on another thread... I'm sure you guys will figure it out... but the original thing I said wasn't even that ugly... UPDATE: most recent harrassing PM from PAT "You are SATIN" so I sent back "That's SATAN to you" hehehe

I need to fume to my dear GFG Club buddies~ I will not mention the name of the person I am about to fume about because I know that is not proper etiquette. So I responded to this thread yesterday because PAT (I will use this name since it can be male or female) made a VERY silly comment. To me it was anyways... So this morning I get here and I have a PM asking me why I quoted PAT's words... DUH, to make a point!!!! So I sent PAT a friendly PM back stating that I was just putting my 2 cents in. Then PAT got Ugly and told me to mind my own business... WHEN PAT asked me why I quoted PAT. Just got a PM that said " You better back off little girl and quit harassing me" So now I am rolling on the floor laughing my big white ass off because PAT was more or less harassing me... and now I am harassing PAT??? I don't get it???????????? NOTE: If you are reading this PAT, then....:second: :) :croc: I think those sum it up....

Do you tan?
OK, about 2 months ago when I decided... hey, you are losing weight... you might actually wear shorts this summer, you need a tan Heather. So, I looked into places here to tan in Houston near my work. I found a nearby tanning salon that I could go to at lunch. To sign up it was like $30 bucks and I get unlimited tans for $20 a month I believe. When I first started, I didn't buy the lotion they want to sale you. Well after a week of tanning with no lotion, I was itching like crazy. Do get some lotion, it protects your skin and hydrates it. I started out going 3X's a week for only 3 minutes. Mind you that when I am tanning I have beautiful bronze skin, but my skin hasn't seen the sun in 3 years, so I wasn't taking any chances on burning! I am now up to the full 15 minute sessions. I tan naked and I prefer the lay down bed to the stand up ones. Just because I am completely lazy and could not stand to stand up for 15 minutes and do nothing. When I lay down, I can take a nap. I LOVE tanning. I haven't been in almost 2 weeks, and seeing this thread is making me go today. I agree with a lot of you when you say that fat looks better tanned. With the exception of FunnyDuddies!!! God, I LOVE her pretty skin!!!!!!! Good Luck and keep us posted!

Question about late day hunger
I do somewhat have this happen with me... I really have to have self control at night. Depending on what I eat for breakfast and lunch... it is usually 1/2 cup worth of food, but I am able to eat sometimes 2 cups of food at night. I have to make myself a small plate and stay out of the kitchen when I am finished with it.

Day 2 of working out~ WOW... I did 6 minutes on the elliptical instead of 5. I plan to bump up a minute everytime I work out. I did the treadmill for only 6 minutes because I didn't have on my walking shoes and I tore my footsies up bad... BLISTERS!!! I won't do that again. Then I did all my weight machine thingies... Don't ask me what they are, but it is a row of machines that you can do like on your lunch break for a 30 minute workout. I love IT!!! I am glad that tomorrow isn't a workout day though. I will need the break. I will just do my walking tomorrow. Here are my stats for this week: C 254 (-111 lbs total, -0 lbs this week) :think Disappointed about that, but I just started at the gym and next week is TOM, so I never lose the week before... I would be a lot more sad about no weight loss if I wasn't looking so cute in my clothes:eek:

Eating disorder...or something else?
I don't think she looks unhealthy at all... but I do not know what she looked like before either. I will keep you and your family in my prayers... Maybe she is just going thru some stuff... and has lost some weight due to that. I hope it is nothing.

Successful Band Stories here!
Before I got pregnant with my daughter in July of '04, I weighed in at 340 lbs. I was working my butt off to lose weight and had lost down to 299, but gained it all back. I got pregnant, and thank God I only gained 25 lbs. Still weighing in at wayyyy too much. The day I had my daughter I weighed 365 lbs. That is what the scale read, and that was my highest weight ever. I couldn't believe that I was only 35 pounds away from 400 pounds. It scared the crap out of me. I worked really hard to lose my weight that I gained with my baby, and got down to 340. Then I heard about lap band, and I did it right away... I CAN NOT believe that I weigh 254 right now. That is still too much, but it is heaven for me. I went from a size 26 to a 16 in 6 months. Life is good for me!!!

I did it, I did it!!!! I went and worked out at the gym this morning!!! My very first time. Gosh, I guess only the people who seriously like to work out are there that early They all had better bodies than me. After about 10 minutes though, I tried to not think about that... and concentrate on feeling the burn! :success1: I have NEVER been on an elliptical machine... boy...it just looks easy until you are on there for 5 minutes. I think I did really well for my first day!

Well I would think that the teens that are that devoted to workout shouldn't be paying attention to anyone else. And... not to down them, but they most likely won't stick with it. Good Luck to you!

Women Compared to Men
My husband could stand to lose at least 100 pounds. He is 6'5" and weighs (I am guessing) 350. He is and has always been a big guy. Football player, weight lifter... all that good stuff. He absolutely refuses to even consider any kind of surgery.... I don't know why really, but I am not pushing it on him. He thinks I need to put him on a diet... So, we'll see.

Good Luck to Tricia, Diane and Susan with those fills. Sounds like you girls know what you need... A question for all of you... Does your Dr. do your fills under the flouro machine? It just seems to be such a better way in my opinion... the Dr. and you can see the barium flowing through. Susan, sounds like you DEFINITELY need a fill and Diane you need an unfill before you get hurt Good Luck to all of you and I can't wait to hear how it goes!!!

Have major regrets? I do
I am very sorry that you are wanting to give up so early in the game. That is what we are here for though. We won't allow you to quit this easily!!! Like you, I watched everything so closely at first in the game... I didn't lose weight because I wasn't getting in enough calories. Now... I wouldn't recommend this to everyone, but when I am eating properly and still not getting "enough" I have a yummy cup of ice cream. That is what I did, and believe it or not... I lost weight. I was able to endulge a little... because I was not getting in enough calories by what I was eating and how much I was exercising... I know it sounds crazy, but your poor body is healing and you need to get used to what your body is telling you. I agree with Alexandra that the support groups that you are going to are no help for you at all. If you wanted RNY, that is the surgery that you would have had... For some reason you chose Lap Band and I hope that you knew it wasn't as quick of a process of RNY. PLEASE find a Lap Band support group so you can talk with others that are going thru exactly what you are. I will pray that you find peace in your heart because you sound very troubled right now. We are all rooting for you and YOU CAN DO THIS!
