I have just decided i'm going to hit this thing running. I am going to see how much weight I can lose before surgery on Friday. Is 10 pounds realistic? If so that's my goal. Today i'm going out and buying bottles of water, and boullion cubes, and vitamins, and gatorade and jello, anything that I need to get through this liquid phase and get started on my new life I have chosen for myself. I am deciding to take charge, to make this work for me, instead of me trying to work around it. It's crazy that i'm sitting here trying to cheat already with soup...its not going to happen. Today is the first day of my WL journey and i'm going to make it a great one!

Does it? *Grr it's only the 1st day of not eating and i'm already trying to figure out how to break the rules. How did you guys do it?

Karen, I was in there around 3:30. You're right blonde hair, didn't have money for parking, there was a plano teacher and her friend in the waiting room, and right after I got there someone was called in that I didn't get a chance to talk to. Haha, how funny is that.

I was in Dr. Jay's office on Wednesday, my surgery's the 18th. I really liked him as well. Congratulations!

I'm just getting a bit nervous and curious as to what to expect.

Give yourself some time. It sucks right now, but give yourself a month. Try to accept that it is in there for at least a month and can always come out given a bit more time has passed and see if in that time you come to appreciate it. The pain will subside and the scaryness of having it in you, and maybe, you just might make it start working for you. Lots of love, we are here for you if you need to vent or freak out. Think positive, it helps

2 weeks post op liquid diet (doesnt' have to be clear according to my doc) that includes protien shakes if desired...3-4 mushies

Can you eat it or not

My mother smoked for 40 years...then quit with the Nicotene patches, but found out last week that she has lung cancer, please try to quit, if not for you than for your kids and their future. I don't know what i'm going to do if I lose my mom...

That's awesome! I did my preop today and everythings great and ready to go. I think...NO thanks to you guys I KNOW that I can and WILL do my liquid diet.

Good stuff to know guys, thank you. And thanks Karen, I am freaked out about the new way i'll be eating it's a huge change and part of me says "Look everyone else is losing weight, what if you get this done and STILL can't do it." Eh i'll get over it and i know it's just my head messing with me.

Well i actually had THANKSGIVING DINNER today with my family (my mom neice and nephew) before i have to go on liquids...crazy huh?

no i took care of her when she was out of surgery and for a week or so after that...good thinking though

I dunno but that's insane. This is something i want to keep VERY private and don't know what to do. Avoid her when I actually do go through my liquid phase?!? Eating is a staple of our group. She would know something was up...UGH

I have told no one about the whole lapband thing. Yet suddenly my friend is saying stuff like "hey i'm thinking about going on a liquid diet what about you?" and telling me how she doesn't like the weight she's gaining (even though she's dropped ALOT since getting her tonsils out). And her boyfriend is "freaking out" saying that the only people who get that done are people who are getting a lapband or gastroblahblahblah and then telling me it would be dumb to do something like that and hurt my body. Something isn't right...I know she wouldn't be considering this. Do they know? Am I paranoid?

No never had any surgery...wisdom teeth out that was about it. Okay that's pretty good, i'll have someone help me up them. *Phew* that's good to know I really did want to be home day of surgery. Wow it's November 18th. It's so exciting and so scary at the same time. It's kind of sad but I had "Thanksgiving" lunch today because I won't be able to eat a week before surgery and a few other factors with my mothers health, but it was horrible how badly I wanted to get "thanksgiving" in. At the same time though I was estatic that it was the last thanksgiving that I will be eating like I did, as much as I did, and looking like i look.

What do I do? Will it be okay to walk up them to get home that day? I KNOW I want to be at home but is this feasible? Will it hurt the incisions, the band...me?

For me...aaahhh

I'm concerned because I know that when i go on liquids my metabolism is going to drop and everything and I don't want it to stay that way and gain when i start eating again.
