  1. Just had surgery Monday and I guess because of all the water I was given through my IV ?? I have gained 6 pounds !!! Everytime they weighed me at the hospital I weighed more.

      This isn't the time to concern yourself with that. Relax and let yourself heal from the shock to your body.

      How odd your hospital weighed you. Is this a usual practice? Mine never did! I weighed myself at home the morning of surgery on Tuesday Jan 26th . I didn't weigh myself again until Friday Jan 29th and by then I had lost 7 pounds. So I have no idea how much I gained from the Iv fluids. I am doing as WLSResources suggested just relaxing and letting my body heal.

      my surgeon told me not to worry about that right now until you are weeks out and completely healed; however, I, too, was about 8 pounds heavier after surgery but within 2 weeks, I had lost the fluid and my bowels were moving regularly....now, 4 weeks post op, I'm about 16 pounds less than I was the morning of my surgery! Hang in there, it WILL come off.
