December 14th was my date and I am really pleased and happy.... I feel so good! I wish all of you success.... remember not to judge you by comparing yourself to someone else's achievements. Our journeys are different in so many ways.

I was the same as you! My pain was minimal, no gas either. I tolerated everything great (new foods). We are so very fortunate!

I did a two week preop. Two shakes a day, Protein and a salad, and two approved Snacks. I lost 15 lbs. I was kind of shocked.

Once. The day I came home. I fight vomiting but it actually made me feel better. I was nauseous after surgery but they gave me medication and I felt better fast.

Ugh I can’t even imagine how you must feel. I’m so sorry. Don’t give up though. You’ve struggled and gone through too much. Have your day of pity (you deserve it!) and then do your very best to get this done. It sucks now but some day it’ll be a memory and behind you and you’ll be on your way to better health. But, ugh, that must’ve been crushing.

I need mine out but I'm trying to wait until next year due to work. I don't have any stones but I was having pain so the doc gave me a HIDA scan and the results came back abnormal with an Ejection Fraction of 86% (normal per my surgeon is in the 30-60% range). Since I don't have stones my surgeon is comfortable letting me manage the pain and we will be removing the gallbladder after the 1st of the year.

Joann454 reacted to clk in Did you continue to lose weight after 1 year post op?
I lost slowly and steadily over 17 months. I really dislike the idea that there's this magical year you have to lose your weight in or it's all over. I participate in several groups and see people lose over two years. Your sleeve (in my case) still works. I had a baby at nearly 3 years out and had another loss period after nursing, between 3.5-4.5 years out. Again, slow and steady. But the weight came off.
Even now in maintenance, weight comes off if I'm not careful and it's strictly a calories in vs out game. The restriction is still there.
    This tool is for life.

I'm about five months post op and I have been horrible this last month. Old habits slipping back in. Not weighing or measuring. I've felt horrible physically and emotionally. What is wrong with me? I fought so hard to get this surgery and was convinced I'd do great.
So, I've started pushing Water and weighing everything.

    I'm really disappointed in myself.

Every time you post I feel better about my slow loss. It can get discouraging (although I sabotaged myself last month) and then I remember what a success you are!

@Joann454 I am just a 'mouthy' pre-op on the liquid diet....lol....3 days until surgery.
I just remember from my successful dieting times that after a certain time I would slip back into trigger/bad foods and it was usually based on three things - boredom food rut, sudden fear from unwanted attention to my changing body, or anxiety from something I was trying not to face.... (like bad habits will actually help ANY of those issues).
    Hang in there.

How come you can't have the dinner you made? Unless you breaded the chops it sounds on plan. Am I wrong? Maybe this is part of my struggle.
So you asked what happens before I eat the bad food. The thing is, nothing. It's easy to eat lousy and requires more work (planning and preparation) to eat well. Also, once I eat carbs I crave more carbs and then I feel awful when I eat them AND because they're usually not dense I can eat much more. It's literally everything I've read on here since I joined. The good news is I did really well today. Got 100 grams of Protein in and all my Water and a walk. Emotionally I feel better just by taking back some control. Thanks for helping.

Thanks you two. I'm such an all or nothing type of person and it's not worked out well for me to be that way. It's crazy because I honestly didn't think I had many food issues. Just that I ate the wrong stuff. I was so wrong. I got the issues for sure. I'll try that approach, Julie. If I continue to struggle I'm going to make an appt to speak to someone. I also need to stay active on this board. It definitely helps and as soon as I started eating lousy I avoided coming here. I want to be successful! Thanks again.
