  1. Thinking I got this....in reference to sweets. Just because I can't eat large amounts they are still a trigger food that I do not make good choices about.
  2. I did the same thing, they recycle and there are some things that returned to normal and others did not.
  3. I still feel that way!!! I want to head to the plus size section every time.
  4. Call you Surgeon, Let them know so they can head it off at the pass.
  5. Chew chew chew, but I don't have any issues with seafood. Enjoy!!!
  6. First wow, there is no way I could have handled that, but then you have to think he has problems that far surpass the surgery.
  7. I was just thinking this same thought last night!!!
  8. My BMI indicates I should be at 135, I lost down to 135 and was playing softball 5 nights a week and could only maintain it by not eating. That was 20 years ago, I really didn't want to choose a number but decided on 150 because I want something I can maintain. It still puts me in the overweight column of the BMI but I am going to count it as a win if I get there. My Nut told me Monday that I may find 160 is better, she said it's about how I feel and where I am comfortable. 9. My first post op visit with my cardiologist was a success. She was more than thrilled with my progress and the whole clinic dropped in to cheer me on. My labs look great, and she didn't want to adjust my meds. She did utter a statement that was the first time in the history of the Heart Failure clinic and that was "to increase my sodium". After being on a sodium restriction for over 10 years that was quite a shocker. My next appt was with my surgeon, everyone there was also excited. I met his expectations and he was really happy that I am not having to live like a vampire. He teased me about the increase in my sun screen bill. I also met with my NUT or nutritionist, she was impressed I was still logging my food. I really didn't know I had a choice, it works to keep me accountable. She also let me know at this point I should not exceed 20 grams of Carbs a day. Realistically that is not a problem when Protein is first and a smaller stomach but inside I panicked a little. Just a bizarre reaction considering all I have accomplished at this point.
  10. I chose the sleeve because I am on a lot of heart meds and they need to digest and release through the various stages. The doctor and I discussed this was what was best in my case. Research, talk talk talk to people.
  11. Senna-S its a stool softener laxative has been the only thing that works other than a suppository for me. My doctor told me to do what I had to do and not be miserable.
  12. Current weight 189 Goal Weight 174 15 pounds
  13. My doctor has me taking Fiber Advance Gummies. They are helping.
  14. Yesterday afternoon I was not only blessed but able to take my nephews prom pics. I am not a photographer by any means, I just have a nice camera. Last year at this time I would have been sweating so profusely I would have made myself sick. My number one reason for this journey is to be able to participate in my son's senior year coming up, not miss a thing regardless of the weather and I am making that happen. All the pictures were at different locations outside and I had to wear a jacket. I love outdoor pics. Here we are, my hair is all Hinky but isn't he handsome? He's a sophomore band and robotics geek dating a senior cheerleader. That pocket square was a you tube stair step creation after his mom called me panicking.
  15. Totally normal!! I was setting with an IV in and playing calm on the outside for everyone but inside......It's not only surgery but a totally different lifestyle afterwards. But I'll let you in on a secret, its worth every minute. Yesterday I spent over an hour outside taking my Nephews prom pics. I am not talented but just have a great camera but this time last year I would have been sweating so badly it made me sick. I'm 47 and actually see an amazing future. So many people will tell you the only regret is not doing it sooner. Your going to rock this!!!
  16. I have taken it in the past and it was very helpful.
  17. I did the size of Texas. Never had one before this. I am three months out and just now starting to go without a suppository. My doctor told me to take what I needed to go.
  18. You look fabulous!!!!
  19. 70 pounds is fantastic!!! I think all of us are used to hammering ourselves for our failures. So what.....you had a couple of bad days. Thing is your still on this journey and are rocking it!!!
  20. 189 didn't make my goal but seriously learned a lot. Thank you for doing this!!
