at 2 months out, You are fairly new to the forum. Take advice that is useful...The advice that doesn't apply and let it fly. Try not to take things personally..People will answer with advice from their experiences. My suggestion is to be open to other peoples perspective.
All of our instructions are different. Yes, you will be able to eat more as you progress after surgery. Check with your dietician or Dr. with your concerns about stomach stretching and eating too much.
I'm not a wrestler. I am a distance runner. I easily burn over 1200 calories on 13.1 mile runs. I run three days a week and weight lift 3 days a week. I use a sports medicine dietician.
    Best of luck to you.

After 36 hours I was discharged from the hospital. My recovery was fine, I had minimal pain and able to keep fluids down. I never got nauseous nor threw up! All the hospital staff I dealt with was extremely nice.
I have 5 incisions going straight across my stomach. Luckily enough it is enough down below my bra line and above my pant line where I shouldn't have issues wearing those in a few days.
Hoping the rest of my recovery goes as smoothly as it has started.

Hi all. I am now down roughly 60 pounds and seven weeks out from when I started my liquid pre-diet. Am also having some awesome NSV moments. Some are:

No longer wearing 3x shirts. They are packed and ready to be taken to Goodwill. My size 48 (expandable) pants? Gone too. Can button my pants at my belly button. No more "slant pants." I wore a much smaller belt...and it was a new one! Went three days this past week without needing a mid day nap. Three days now without any slimes or throwing up. Joined a local health club to work out. Snoring is all but gone. No more BP meds at all (125/65 is normal now). And BMs much more normal and less stressful. Bought myself an I-touch. That was my 50 pound loss gift to myself. Any suggestions for the 100 plateau? That's a short list, but ones that come to mind.

    Please, share yours!

Let's look at the fact that this journey is not just about the weight loss, but about all the wonderful things that continue to happen along the ride!

Wonderful Bob! I absolutely love this thread. My shouts outs so far:

    * tossed all my size 2x - believe me, not even the Goodwill would want them.
    * fit into Liz Claiborn 16WP jeans - tossed my 22WP - see above.
    * able to go 1 hour vigorously on the treadmill and love doing it.
    * rewarded myself w/a Sansun slot radio to keep me going while exercising.
    * have more energy than I have had in years.
    * vow never to wear black again unless it is lingerie.
    * stopped caffeine, diet soda, sugar, flour, but haven't we all!

Why is it that when people hear that someone who was destroying their body through obesity has lost 100+ pounds with the help of surgery, some will call that a "cop out" or the "easy way out".....
But when someone who is destroying their life through alcohol abuse and gets help through an intensive, in-patient recovery program with medical professionals....how come that's perfectly okay, even laudable?
Why is getting serious medical intervention for obesity treated like something to be ashamed of, when we applaud those who take similar intense intervention to drug or alcohol addictions?
Aren't we all just trying to save our lives ?

I personally feel being overweight and eating to excess is harder than kicking drugs because you need food. You have to eat to survive. Drugs and alcohol you dont.
But overweight people are always the easiest targets to attack because you cant hide weight. You can hide drinking, smoking and drugs while walking down the street, but being fat youre screwed.

These pics are NOT easy to share because I have No make-up on and tons of loose skin and wrinkles, hence the the Yikes in my title! All that being said, I couldn't be happier and healthier. Last Summer I was wearing a size 22 swimsuit and the one I have on in the pic is a size 10, so YAY! Having had gastric bypass has truly saved my life. I was a slow but steady loser (can't exercise much due to a chronic nerve condition) and only have a few more pounds to go. These last 10 lbs. are the hardest. Being obese for 30 years took it's toll on me but I'm so happy now that I refuse to dwell in the past. Advice for those just starting out ... Take "Before" pics and measure yourself!!! Here are my stats:

I am 11 months out of RNY bypass and have done well. About 5 months ago my nut suggested PB2. I bought it, tasted it dry, and never opened it again. Yesterday, at work, someone on WW was talking about it and said you add two tbsp. to one tbsp. of Water and mix! I ran home and read the fine print, and there it was! Mixed it up, tasted it, and very tolerable! I can substitute it for the real thing and lots less calories and fat!!
Now my only problem will be finding ways to eat it without doing it just for an excuse to eat the carbs that might go with it! (carbs are still my nemesis). I know some will suggest apples (25 good carbs), but I need to stay away from the bread and pretzels..............anyone have suggestions on how to use this now that I've refound it? (not In smoothies, please).
I'd love to know how others are using it? How is the chocolate version?
    Thanks,

Oh, Lord -- another person who thinks that losing nearly a pound a day equates to "weight is not going down."
How in the world do people develop such unrealistic expectations about WLS results?
My first four months post-op I averaged 10 pounds/month weight loss. And then the weight loss slowed.
I still lost 100 pounds and am maintaining now at 135 pounds.
This is not a bloody 50-yard dash. It's a marathon. And when you reach your goal it becomes a life-long lifestyle.
Sorry for the mini-rant, but I really don't understand why someone who's averaging 24 pounds lost / month is disappointed in WLS. That's an amazing weight loss.

Sleeve and pouch were interchangeable I thought. Nonetheless I'm eating pretty slow and I use the small spoon at home but today I was at work on my 30 minute lunch in the break room so I didn't want to break out my toddler spoon and have people asking a bunch of questions.
My doctor has me on soft foods not so much pureed. I had chicken salad so it's pretty mushy. And my broccoli was overcooked and mushy too. I take my Vitamins but really kind of over the Protein shakes. I was hoping to just get the Protein from food but that's not looking too good either. He strongly advises against yogurt because of the sugar content, pretty much he said "no sloppy foods" like oatmeal, yogurt, and mashed potatoes, that don't really contain a lot of nutritional value.

So I talked to my surgeons office today and the lady who schedules the surgeries told me that they had been submitting to the ins company's after six consecutive weigh in... But most patients were getting denied because you have to finish the sixth month with a last weigh in. So June 14th is my official last medically supervised weigh in. Then they can submit my paperwork to the insurance....

Today is my last weigh in of my six-month medically supervised diet...or so I thought.
I called my surgeons office and told them that my last weigh-in was coming soon. They told me that the insurance likes to see you finish the program and weigh in one last time. Really!? If you say 6 months then it should be 6 months, not 7! Grrr
