Its great to see everyone's progress. Mine is slow and steady, but I'm ok with that.
I'm a big girl, so I have a lot to lose, so slow a steady is the way to go.

    Keep up the great work!

I've been looking to make more friends. Been separated for a long time, down 101 pounds with 39 to go...have my self confidence back, and want to meet women or a nice woman to spend time with. It's been 18 years since I've been in this "game" and am getting discouraged.
Wanting to meet for things like walking/hiking, meet for coffee, maybe go to movies, etc.
Here's my dilemma. What's with this sexting crap? I mean if I were in a committed relationship and we wanted to flirt with some pictures maybe that's one thing. But just meeting someone over the internet and never in person yet, and the next thing you know you've gone from getting regular face pics to naked pictures on your phone?!?
I know some of you would not mind this but that's not me or what I'm looking for. I genuinely want to become friends with someone by spending time together.
Are there still people out there like me or is everyone just looking for a hookup?

Nah, not everyone loses at the same rate as u, which is probably how they can do that and not wither away, lol. Like me, for example, I'm a slow loser so my weight loss is like the little engine that could. Stall, lose, stall, stall, stall, lose...and on amd on I chug chug chug. Although, your body's way sounds better to me!! [emoji6] Although, the eating 3x a day thing doesnt work for me either, but just because I feel like Im hungry for something every 2 or so hours now. May be mental hunger, but I just grab a nib of something healthy (ie, couple 5 almonds, sugar free hard candy, etc) to plop in my belly to keep me satisfied until the next 'main' meal.

Ya. Today for Breakfast coffee and milk ( I hate breakfast). lunch I had 1/2 a bar and bag Protein chips. After work a handful of almonds. dinner was 3 oz meat sauce over a few tablespoons of quinoa. snack after dinner was 1/2 a protein bar.
    Total 43 carbs, 53 protein, 700 calories

I need Protein Bars and other protein items because I don’t always have a lunch break.
I wouldn’t call a bar and yogurt with some granola at night a problem. It could be worse!
The donuts and eating your kids’ food ya a prob. I’m a snacker. I’d rather eat 6 small Snacks than 3 meals- I can’t eat that much protein at one sitting so I get hungry quickly.

I’m 8 years out from surgery. Highest weight was 399 and today I’m 168. Throughout those years I’ve lost and gained. Emotional eating was paramount during stressful times. However, surgery is a tool as expressed earlier. It’s making the decision to accept what’s important to you by any means necessary. If getting your eating under control is a struggle, then take a week or so to reflect on what the core cause is. Are you eating trigger foods? Is the stress of being a new mom taking over (congrats and welcome to motherhood). Put yourself first and really get down to the root cause. Even if that means booking an appointment with a therapist. It takes time so be patient with yourself.

When I feel like back peddling I call my accountability partner and food vent or I go to IG and just read the profiles of those who inspire me.

Go back to the basics. As you’ve stated plan your meals ahead of time. It’s a pain to do but once done, it makes it easier to stay on track. Work to move your body every day. Be very mindful of why and what you’re eating. And make changes slowly. The tool works if you work it right. Sending positive vibes your way. [emoji177]

I agree with big viff that you didint likely stretch your sleeve. I’m not sure that’s even possible. For example, I eat carbs and fast food and large amounts of food all the time, but I still have restriction when I eat foods that’s are non-sliders.

What you have done is figured out a way to “eat around” you sleeve. Carbs are mostly sliders and you can eat a lot more of them than of Protein. If you want to go back to the dieting, than my advice is to begin by eating your protein first. Focus on low carb and higher protein meals with veggies.

Your body will crave carbs because your body needs carbs. But by putting those last instead of first you can take advantage of your stomach restriction again.

The "pouch reset" is actually only a exercise in habit reform. You most likely did not stretch your sleeve. I say "most likely" because it is a very rare thing for a properly performed VSG to stretch. The esophageal sphincter or the pylorus will weaken long before the sleeve will stretch enough to cause tears that heal back with a larger volume over and over again. Or if someone had bypass, the opening created in the intestine could be stretched which would allow food to go through too quickly.
The pouch reset is a name given to reverting back to the post-op basics. Fluids for a short time, then soft foods, then dense Proteins. It is an exercise designed to train your mind to recognize the sensation of fullness.
So are you too far gone? No, of course not. The only question is how important is it to you to make the change that is necessary. Don't think about eating less crap, think of not eating that crap at all. There is no need for it. I will admit that I miss the convenience of fast food, but I do not miss anything else about it. I am actually quite proud of myself that I have not had a fast food sandwhich in almost 3 years.

My basic take has always been that the point of proper grammar and spelling is communication . . . yes, mistakes bother me, but as long as I know what the person meant, I'm good in this context. And I'm always aware that, while this is an area in which I have some solid knowledge, the person who doesn't have that particular strength probably has others I don't--they're more imaginative, a better photographer, in better shape, a great parent, a terrific friend . . . you name it. I'm reserving my criticism and correction of English written language for books I'm editing or something that's been published/sold and not edited--that makes me a crazy person. In this arena--eh. But I was surprised by the furor of the responses!

Weight loss surgery can be an effective tool to fight obesity. Our common goal is to fight obesity through a unified voice. No weight loss surgery is inherently better or worse than any other. Each has advantages, and each has disadvantages.
Some individuals are good candidates for one kind of surgery, and other individuals are better candidates for another kind of surgery.
No individual is more or less deserving of weight loss and health because of a decision to get or not get weight loss surgery, or because of which type of weight loss surgery he or she chooses. BariatricPal serves as a place where anyone can ask questions about weight loss surgery without fear of ridicule. BariatricPal serves as a forum for open discussion and polite disagreement so that everyone can benefit.
Weight loss surgery “bashing” is absolutely prohibited. This include, but is not limited to, statements that a specific type of weight loss surgery is:
Bad or wrong Easier than another type of weight loss surgery or “cheating” when someone is trying to lose weight Out of date or obsolete Doomed to failure
In addition, “bashing” of individuals is prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to, statements that a person is:
Lazy for choosing one type of weight loss surgery over another Unprepared for or undeserving of weight loss surgery because of Deserving of complications or disappointing weight loss because of their choice of weight loss surgery

Editing or removal of the offensive post(s) Warning from BariatricPal staff or Forum Hosts to avoid such posts in the future Temporary suspension of membership Permanent removal of the member’s account
These guidelines do NOT forbid disagreement and candid discussions on BariatricPal. Members may discuss and defend their points of view in respectful manners. Please feel free to contact BariatricPal with any questions about these guidelines.

Remember that written communication is different from face-to-face communication. When you post a message on the discussion forum, send someone a text message, email, or private message, or meet in a chat room, a lot of the message is lost. When you are face-to-face with someone, you can use tone of voice, gestures, and expressions to help get your point across. These aids are lost when you communicate online. Your message can accidentally come across as harsh or rude. A good way to reduce accidental misunderstandings is to read your own message before posting it to see if there is any way that a reader could mistake its meaning in a negative way.

Congrats Rach!! I wish we could control where we lost the weight. I have a big belly, a flat butt and disproportionately thin legs. No luck finding jeans that fit with this body! I keep hoping to lose belly weight but no such luck. It’s the belly fat that is so dangerous too. We have to cross our fingers and be patient!

Okay I don't post much but I read ALOT. And something has been really really irritating me. After seeing this grammatical error more times then I can count I just can't take it anymore! ! I understand it's not that important to some people but honestly there's a huge difference between lose and loose. Lose means you lost something (weight etc.). Loose means that's something doesn't fit anymore( loose skin, loose clothing, etc). Thank you and that is all.

This sounds a lot like hypoglycemia or hypotension syncope. If you had high blood sugars or blood pressure pre-op it is not uncommon to go the other way post op. Happened to me.

Here I am in 2012 at the Minnesota State Fair. I was probably near my highest of 400. I looked very masculine back then, even when I didn't have short hair.

Here I am last month after getting my makeup done for a friend's Halloween-themed wedding (I went as Mary Poppins).

And lastly this was me a couple of weeks ago after finally getting a haircut. Down 185 pounds and look more feminine than a few years ago.

I'm really proud of us August sleevers. Whether you're meeting the chart or not, I think we're all doing so well. I have literally told three people in my life about my surgery (about half my immediate family) and so this whole process can feel totally lonely so I love seeing how everyone else is doing. It's not a competitive thing - some people are taller, younger, or better at exercise etc than me and doing much better. The point is that we're all doing our best here. It's just nice to know people have the same feelings and obsess over the same things (I want diet coke so badly).

Non-scale achievements... I was cleaning out my closet this weekend and I threw out/donated about 2/3 of the stuff in it. Even some of the jeans I'd been so proud to be able to wear again after surgery are too big now. I also found a sweatshirt in the closet I didn't remember and tried it on. It fit great, so I went to show it to my wife and she told me it was hers... she'd bought it to stay warm while at her old job a while back. It's an L. (I was a solid 3XL before weight loss.) Most of the stuff I wear is XL now, but being able to wear even one L sized thing feels terrific.
And here is a picture of me wearing the suit that used to fit me this time last year. My kid is wearing it with me this time.
