  5. WTG Looooooooooosssssssssssiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeeeee.... I finally hit my 30lb mark.. 3 more lbs to go and I'll hit my 1st goal of being under 250!!! Haven't seen that # in about 6 years! I went to buy some shirts yesterday and found that I am now an 18/20- 14/16 was a bit snug- but I'm really not that far away from it!!! Isn't that 1X? OMG- I've been in 3X's for 3 years now and I wanted to die the 1st day I bought a shirt that big... I came home and cleaned out my closet and brought everything to a donation center! "WHAT A FEELING"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. WOW- that is fantastic, thank you so much- can't wait to try them!
  7. It wasn't after my fill, but I've had panic attacks that have the exact symptoms of a heart attack... it's the scariest thing and extremely painful... Was your arm hurting too?

(18/20) and those aren't even snug on me- I think I'll be in a 14/16 before summer's end! WooHooo!!!!!! PS- I hit the 30lb mark this morning too!!!

  11. 1st, here's the link to our August get-together... http://www.lapbandtalk.com/nevada-local-lap-band-support/69457-vegas-bandsters-august-get-together-all-invited.html#post919373 I didn't want to forget that part!!! It sounds like you have a wonderful family. The larger- the better I say! I have 2 girls, Sam & Allie (7 & 4)- they are so cute and fun to be around (most of the time! LOL) I went to my seminar back in September... My insurance didn't cover anything- so being self-pay the process was Really fast... I decided to pay off a lot of my bills first- then applied for "CareCredit" and made my final decision in April. They had me take some blood tests and an EKG and I was ready to go... no psych-no nutritionist- no diet... I was scheduled for 4/30, but came down with a horrible flu 2 days before- so I had to reschedule for 5/20... All is well. They had problems during surgery because my liver was so large and almost pulled out, but found a way to get around it. My recovery was a bit painful at first- but everyone's experience is different. I was back to work 8 days later. My 1st day back was hard- I lasted 5 hours and went home, then every day got a little easier. Now I finally feel "normal"- but better than I ever did before surgery! 27lbs is a big deal. I really didn't think so, but today I decided I needed a couple of shirts for work, so I went to Lane Bryant where I usually buy a size 26- Today I bought a size 18 and it looks really good on- not snug at all. I only bought 2 shirts because I'm hoping to be in a size 14 REALLY SOON!

  13. YOU'RE INVITED... :biggrin2: TO: The Las Vegas Bandsters 'August' Get Together! DATE: SATURDAY AUGUST 16TH TIME: 5:00 pm PLACE: P.F. CHANG'S ASIAN BISTRO ON THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF PARADISE & HARMON (across from the Hard Rock Cafe) Website: P.F. Chang's China Bistro RSVP: Reply to this Thread or send me a message! I'll be happy to hear from you... ALSO: Feel free to invite any Bandsters you meet to come along- even those people who are not yet banded are welcome to join us... We had our 'July' lunch today and I found it so nice to have a group of people to talk to and relate to everything that's been going on. It was great getting to know Mary, Rebecca, Sharon, & George! What wonderful people! P.S.- Please don't ask for changes in place, date, or time... no matter what we do, we will not be able to accommodate everyone's needs. Just know that we will be getting together every month, so if you miss one meeting- maybe you'll be able to make it to the next! Thank you for understanding... :smile2:
  14. Hi Trishah!!! I live in Henderson and we have group getting together this afternoon for lunch. We will be having these get together's once a month and I'll be happy to keep you posted so you can join us!!! Dr. Atkinson was my surgeon and everything is going great so far. I've lost 30lbs in less than 2 months! I've started working out and guess what? I DON'T hate it anymore! :biggrin2: We're going to BaBaReeba's at Fashion Show Mall at 1pm- feel free to drop in if you get this message in time!!! Best wishes, Yvonne
  15. I go for my fill on Tuesday and will ask at that time. I didn't have any problems at all with it... Just went right down! LOL Perhaps there is problems eating the skin? I Never make it with the skin on- it just doesn't taste as good to me... I'll edit my recipe too!
  16. I had my surgery on a Tuesday and went back to work the following Tuesday because I was lucky enough to have Memorial Day in there! LOL I didn't make it through the whole 1st day and barely made it through the 2nd day. After that- every day got easier and when my weekend came, I just rested. I don't think my recovery would have been any better had I stayed home longer though. It's the getting up and about that starts the healing process. A lot of it being mental too. The best thing to do is to listen to your doctor. They will tell you to walk every hour- do your breathing exercises and sip your drinks. Be prepared to be uncomfortable- take your pain killers. Have a journal ready and write write write! Luckily I have an understanding boss- she's been Great and now comes to the gym with me at lunch time! We've really become close for some odd reason! LOL Let your boss know that even though you're coming back after a week, you may not be able to work the full day. You are having Major Surgery- it's not a botox injection ya know!!!
  17. That must have been Amazing! I have to say that I have had to use an extender and it was mortifying. Even though the flight attendant was quiet about it- I felt like everyone knew and I just wanted to crawl up and die... I will be flying in February and will remember your wonderful story! My NSV for the day- I am home today unexpectedly as my girls are sicky poo (little fevers and ear infections) There was nothing for me to eat- so I took out a weight watchers lasagna and was full after eating 1/2 of it!!! I remember when I would eat one and laugh because it felt like I hadn't eaten at all. Then I'd have a salad, then some fruit, & still feel unsatisfied... How insane! See you Sunday!!!
  18. Your recipe sounds great! I have a real problem w/ portion control on these types of things... FYI- I found that 'Kozy Shack' now makes sugar free Rice pudding and Tapioca Pudding in portion control cups! LOL They are fabulous and no fuss! Find them at the grocery store in the refrigerator section near the puddings and yogurts!!!
  19. I just posted a "healthy Eggplant Parm" recipe that's really easy and takes less than an hour TOTAL... you'll even have left overs, so it's worth the time and prep!!! Good Luck!
  20. I have had this and it's amazing and very filling...
  21. OMG- My Mom came to visit me a few weeks ago and made this dish for me. It's great! (Be sure to weigh it out - definitely a slider!!!) Slice an eggplant- very thin... Lay out slices on a baking sheet sprayed w/ cooking spray... Take a brush and apply VERY small amount of EVOO or Veggie Oil to the tops... Bake until tender... (just about 10 minutes in a 350 degree oven) (you can flip them 1/2 way through) While that's in the oven- Make a Marinara sauce... (1 tbsp EVOO- 1 large can Crushed Tomatoes or Tomato Sauce- Garlic- Basil- salt & pepper to taste) Heat to boiling and it's done! In a square pan (or lasagna pan if you're making a lot) Put small amt of sauce (just enough to cover the bottom) Layer of Eggplant Sauce Eggplant etc...(should make 3 or 4 layers) Sprinkle top with Parmigiana cheese Bake until browned (about 20 minutes) It's "DIET"- because there is no Mozzarella - Ricotta - Breadcrumbs or Deep Frying!!! WooHooo!!!!!!!!!

  23. Hi Everyone... I finally found the post... You already have me listed on the RSVP list! :biggrin2: I'm really looking forward to meeting those of you I have not yet had the pleasure of meeting and comparing notes with all of you as well... Even though my family and friends have been wonderful, it's going to be a huge help to have other bandsters to sit and talk with... I don't get to the regular meetings- so this will be great for me...
  24. Next time you see her start your conversation like this: I don't know if this is public knowledge or not, but I heard you were getting fired... I'll keep you in my prayers... OR I don't know if this is public knowledge or not, but I heard you were getting a face lift... I'll keep you in my prayers... I HATE PEOPLE LIKE THAT... WHO THE HELL DO THEY THINK THEY ARE? Don't worry about what she said, or what she thinks... you have made this decision to help yourself and that's all you need to be concerned with... Everything is going to be just fine.
  25. GET WELL WISHES from a fellow Las Vegan... Joan and her family are in my prayers at this difficult time...
