So I accidently bought some Protein powder Cinnamon Bun , I thought I bought the chocolate. Anyways it is not that bad but thinking I may need to order another flavor as to this one may get old! Any suggestions on jazzing it up? I used some skim milk and ice cubes along w / sprinkle some cinnamon and nutmeg on top to make me feel I was having a specialty drink lol! By the way down 5 lns this morning!

Do you mind me asking what type of insurance you have? I'm so freaking out b/c I have gained from 213 to 221 and afraid my MD will not do the surgery or insurance will not approve me. I have BCBS of AL. I also have terrible hypothyroidism and my medication for this has been increased 2 x since starting this 6 month period.

My thyroid is also out of whack and on levothryroxine 100 mcg , my weight has gone up in the last 7 months and I don't know if insurance will approve it or not now. I wondered too about the weight loss after surgery because I can't seem to loose any before. I have started my liquid diet now for the last week and have not lost what I need to .....

how much weight so far have you lost so far on liquids?

I'm in the same boat! I'm 5'1 started 7 months ago at 213lbs, was told not to loose any or my BMI would fall, and not to gain. Well my Thyroid is out of whack too and I have had my medication increased in the last 4 months and now weigh 224 and was told I would have to loose back down to 213 lbs before my MD would do surgery or if I get approved. My paper work has been sent in I have sleep apnea my RDI is 53 and everything is still pending. Anyways all I can tell you is to watch your weight so you dont get denied or even turned down from your suregon once they submitt everything. Good Luck ......

Good Luck! I have been on the phone with insurance and my doctors office so much lately! I was told the sleep study was faxed over yesterday morning. This was supposed to have been done on the 18th but it was not sent. So I hope you and I get an answer this week. Keep in touch and let me know darling. @@baileyj908

Thank you so much! I know my husband gets tired of hearing me complain about all this stuff. So happy there is a place where others are going through or have gone through the same situations! Congrats @@Leesa926, and @@Tobeornottobe I have a 3 ring binder where I have marked off all my office visits and what they have asked of me, but I don't have copies of everything. Maybe I should ask for a copy.

@@sbg224 I also work in the health care field and have for over 13years. If there was another MD around here I would do what you said but the closest is 3 to 4 hours away. Thanks for listening just need to vent I suppose.

I did on Nov 18th , I guess I will have to go again tomorrow am before I come to work. I have taken so much time off from work for MD appointments and jumped through hoops. Is it really this hard for everyone else or am I the exception?

So I call about every single day to BCBS AL to find out my status on my surgery , and was told on Nov 24th that my MD office had not sent in my sleep study(which is what will get me approved b/c I have a RDI of 53 ) and that is all they are waiting on. Soooo I called my doctors office today to ask when was my sleep study sent and guess I have to wait for a call back........ I'm so frustrated, my insurance changes on Jan 1st. Why do I feel so overwhelmed right now all I want to do is cry!

I hope I do not get denied I gained 8 lbs during my 6 months my thyroid medication has been increased twice since starting this process too? I started my liquid diet already b/c I don't want to be denied or the surgery put off for gaining. I have lost 4 lbs since Friday!

Congrats on making that step. Honestly I was honest when I went and found my PCP the very first time. I told her exactly what I was asking from her. Gave her a brief history of my past fails with seeing a diet MD and taking Rx for weight loss for years. Explained to her that I could no longer put my body or my pocket book through taking these medications monthly and not getting results. Thankfully she was very encouraging and had even done the process for her other patient before and knew exactly what I needed to do and what she needed to do for my visits with and her approval letter. Good Luck , all I can say is just be as honest as you can and tell them exactly what you want and need from them. If the one you see is not able to help you , ask around and see if anyone you know has a PCP that has followed someone before and is willing to do so. Good Luck.
