I was doing great till about 1230 am on 12/25 when I woke up with severe pain in abdomen, shoulders , back, and had diarrhea along w/ a fever of 102.9. I called my mom and sis and they came and picked me up to take me to the ER. After a bag of fluids , cat scan of my abdomen, chest xray and lots of labs I was diagnosed with Ulcertive Colitis, Pnumonia in both lungs, and gastrointestinal virus! I got home about 6 am just in time to watch my boys open up Christmas. Now I just feel like I've been beat with a baseball bat. Good note was that my sleeve looked good to them.

high blood pressure is a co morbidity. Also have the sleep study done now. Most EVERYONE has sleep apena, it has to be a RDI of 50 or greater! My BMI was 40 just barley and I only have sleep apnea and got approved.

It gets better I promise after one more day it should be easier. I also had a cold or something the first week I started my liquids but it did pass too. Good Luck

I don't know but I do notice that once I started my Pre op liquid diet I can tell for sure what head hunger is. After intake of 27 grams of protein in a shake there is no way I'm hungry but if I smell or see something I think I'm hungry. I have avoided eating with everyone in the breakroom at work. Lots of overtime lol

The best Christmas present EVER! Words cannot describe what I'm feeling but let me just say they are good! Anyone else having surgery this day?

What does it state in your policy about the weight gain? My Insurance is BCBS of Al, I gained from May till Nov 213 to 224. I was not denied by insurance but my doctors office is very strict at making me get to 213 again. I have been on liquids , protein drinks and sugar free jello for about 2 weeks. I'm down to 218 and weight in tomorrow! I would make sure you find out what the insurance policy states about weight gain. When I call BCBS everyone is always so helpful and nice! Good Luck.

Tomorrow is my pre op appointment with my MD...... Nervous and excited! I have been on my liquids and taking my protein drinks. I have gotten down to 218 . Praying that I have another lb off in the morning. I need to be at 213 before surgery. This is really stressing me out. I have basically starved myself for this last week ! Thought about this today would the sodium from the broth cause any excess water weight? Just nervous thinking at this point!

wonder if the headache is maybe due to lack of fluids. Hope you feel better soon.

Got my call today from my MD office, my pre op appointment is Friday at 9am ! I'm excited I will find out my surgery date then!

My heart leaped out of my heart when I heard the word approval from the lady at BCBS Al. Now to wait for the approval letter to be sent to my MD's office and to me! Praying for a surgery by the end of the year! Best news EVER!
