    also try to remember to look at food differently. Eat until you are no longer hungry. when we were growing up we were always taught to eat until we are full so we considered that the right way. If we eat only when we are hungry and stop when we are no longer hungry, I found I had much better results.

    I am a medical professional and I would say to stay away from the traditional BMI chart. It does not take into consideration body type or percent of lean muscle. I use the meter my trainer has which tells me I am at 23% body fat. That might sound like a big number but professional athletes and marathon runners are in the teens, so take that into consideration and I will go with it.

    well it could be an acid issue. did they put you on anything like an antacid?

    The best I can tell you is they both come with pros and cons. With the bypass you will have some Vitamin absorption issues and you can get dumping syndrome if you do not behave on your diet, but the long term weight loss is higher. I personally when with the sleeve do to less issues with absorption, but you will not lose as much weight long term. Do you research and talk with you doctor, this decision is totally up to you and each person has a different view on it. It is your journey make it what you want it to be

    I was on medication for diabetes, High Blood pressure, cholesterol and a CPAP. The day after my surgery my surgen came to see me and asked me if I brought my meds from home. When I showed her I did she took them and threw them in the trash and told me you will not be needing these any more, and she was right.

    there is also the other side of the coin to look at here. This is the time you might want to think about making a clean break from carbonation as it is not a good idea to do after surgery.

    My nut has set mine high due to the fact that I am really active. I now run 3 miles a day and spend 1 1/2 doing weight exercises so I am at 110 to 125 grams of Protein per day. So my best answer would be to talk to a Nut and see what your diet looks like and what your level of activity is. You do not want to go with too little protein as it will make you lose muscle tissue as you lose weight. That is the main reason behind the protein is to keep you from losing muscle tissue

    thyroid is something that I do not think would cause your surgery to be put on hold. What is your Doc saying about it?

    At first I did a lot of weight and measure, just a simple kitchen scale and a measuring cup. Once I got use to seeing what these portions looked like, I just eye ball them now.

    when someone gives me the your taking the easy way out attitude that is when I laugh at them and inform them that is they think it is an easy way out they are sadly misinformed. It is a tool nothing more, it is not a magic fix or a cure all, you still have a lot of work to do. that usually shut them up because by then they realize how ill informed they really are.

    I know it can be tough but that is when you want to ask yourself if you really want to go down that road again. It is not subway so much as the empty calorie bread. When you are on solid food again Subway makes any sandwich into a chopped salad, a much better choice
